When you get TP......

What are you going to do when you finally get your copy of Twilight Princess. I know you're going to play it of course, but come on, a game like that deserves more than a simple "pop in Cube/Wii, grab controller, start playing" routine. Are you going to read the manual first (I know you all know how to play Zelda, but just for the sake of the moment), or are you going to jump right into it headfirst? Are you going to play it voraciously, going on a gaming binge for hours, or are you going to play it little by little, savoring ever bit of the luscious TP goodness? Heres what Im going to do.

Once I hear a definitive release date, Im going to finish pre-ordering it. When I finally get it, and fight through the big mob of Zelda fans at the Gamestop, Im going to clean off my Gamecube and dust around it. Im going to make a sign saying "Do Not Disturb" and put it on my door. And then, Ill plug in the brand new controller I bought, stick in the new memory card I bought, turn on my Cube, and have the best Zelda-related experience in my life.

Re: When you get TP......

Haha, nice thread. I will probably get the game when I am in school.. Anyways, i will go home, with butterflies in my belly, grab the copy of TP, go to my room, CLEAN my room! I want my room to be perfect when I will play the most perfect game. I will read the manual, then go downtown and buy me some candy and stuff that i can eat while playing, go home and and start to play the game when it is dark outside, pull my curtains down, close my door, insert it in the gamecube..yeah i will probably die of excitement.

Re: When you get TP......

Ahh, I can't wait to pop Twilight Princess in my shiny brand new pearly white gamecube ...

On this precious and magical day the greatest game of the new century comes out I'll probably skip school. Yes, I'm gonna be a naughty boy and do that. On that day I'll do anything to get my hands on it first, no matter who stands in my way. I already can feel the chills going down my spine..

And when I've finally bought it (I'll probably stare at the cover first for half an hour out of pure excitement and disbelief before I actually buy it) I'm gonna open it, stare at the disc and take out the instruction booklet and read the prologue 4 times.

When I come home (oh man I can feel the excitement already) I'll go to the livingroom where the biggest TV is, my parents are gone anyway, open up my gamecube, faint, wake up an hour later, put the disc in and press the power button.... And have an orgasm out of pure happiness. (just kiddin, just kiddin)

It's the moment I've waited 2 and a half years for..

Re: When you get TP......

Let's see...I'm going to pre-order whenever the release date is announced. I'm still unsure which version i'm going to play but that isn't really needed for this thread, heh heh. Once the TP box is in my hands, I'm going to stare at the cover in disbelief and after about 5 min or so I'm going to flip it over and read every word on the back and scan through the thumbnail pics. Taking everything in. (Patience is wearing thin now.)

I pull open the box and stare at the disc for another 5 min...not truly, but certainly long enough, lol. Then pull out the instruction manual and read through that thing. FORCING myself to take my time and read every line, when in reality I know that I could almost care less about it (right then at least) and want to toss it aside and leap into the game. But I continue. And by the time I finish, my smile is huge as are my eyes and my patience is pretty much -zip-.

That's when I pull out the disc, with my hands trembling from excitment, and pop it into the system and sit back in my forest green recliner with my surround on, bass sitting next to me so i can feel everything, as I anticipate the start up screen. The room is dark with the curtains and door shut. I take a sip of Dr. Pepper. And I watch the video that comes up on the starting screen and smile in disbelief. Then the moment comes where I press start, put in "Link" as my name, make sure the sound is set to surround, and that's when it happens. I'm on the edge of my seat and I endulge myself in the most spectacular game of all time. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Can't wait!!! heh heh...

Re: When you get TP......

Well, I know What i'm going to do. I always do this to every Zelda game. But this one is more special, since I'm also getting a wii.

I Get it...Looking at its wonderful gaminess beauty. I open it up, rushing, but not rushing so fast I tear it. I look at the Disc. A new disc to enjoy in my wonders. "EEK!" I'd say. Then read the manual. I look at the pictures previewing what is in store for me. I go through each page, making sure not to cheat but to see to pictures. I close it , put it back, and Turn on the wii.

The wii is slim, also perfect for a perfect game. I settle down, with butterflies in my belly. I start sitting down, getting in a comfy position, then start to play.

I'll just die of "eeking" in excitment.

Re: When you get TP......

I'd obviously fall out of school in order to have more time to play :p

But seriously, I'd turn on the gamecube and go through the beginning, then after a while I would read through the instruction booklet.

After that I'd savor every moment I went through as I played. I'd evplore every inch of the game, not missing a thing.

And then try to remember that I have homework and school is still going on.

And then I'd try to forget as I played the game throughout the night.

Re: When you get TP......

I'd open the game just after exiting the shop, read the instruction booklet as I walk through the shopping centre (bumping in to pot plants, trees, innocent bystanders etc..) and ignoring any waves from anybody and not listening to my mum who would be saying "Don't open it now! You'll lose some of the bits!"

And then in the car I'd keep reading the instruction booklet (even if I've already read it 2 times). As soon as we'd get home I'd grab as much tasty crap as I can (It's ok. High metabolism) - and then I'd spring and spear dive in to the rumpus room and set up my Wii, like I was in Saw and I had to do it so that my head wouldn't implode and my toe nails wouldn't go up my nose.

And then I'd slowly... ever so slowly... pick the game out of it's box and place it lightly in the console... Then Id spear dive on to the couch, in mid-air putting my Wii controller and nun-chuk togethor and holding it properley and landing in the perfect playing position, I'd play.

I probably will buy once I've heard when it's going to be released. I probably will look at the cover out of excitment. I Will put the disc in my gamecube and start playing it. And when I take a break I would probably read the manual.

Re: When you get TP......

I already have Twilight Princess on pre-order, since June last year. Fully paid for too, so I've no worries. As soon as Nintendo releases the final release date for TP and the price of the Wii, I'm going to go straight to the Gamestop I preordered TP at and pre-order a Wii, paying for it in full right then and there (I have the money, I can do it easily). Once Twilight Princess and the Wii come out, I'm gonna try to get as close to first in line as possible to get my Twilight Princess and my Wii. The Gamestop I'm preordering is going to let people who reserved the game be able to choose which version they want when they come to pick it up. I'll be choosing the Wii version, and I'll grab my Wii at the same time (... wait, what did I just say?).

FIRST thing I do when I get back to my house? Well, I'll get out of the car, open the front door and go inside. Duh. But AFTER that, I'll plug my shiny brand new Wii into the biggest TV in my house, not skipping the necessary indulgence of smelling the "New Console Smell" emanating from the Wii and it's inner packaging. I'll turn on the Wii, do whatever settings I have to do, then open Twilight Princess when I'm ready to play, once again indulging on "New Game Smell" coming out of the case. I'll put the holy disc into the holy box, and play my holy game with my holy controller. My Wii will be christened by having Twilight Princess being the very first game to be played on it.

After about 5:00 am (regardless of what time it was at start of playing), and my mom tells me to go to just get to bed already, I'll take my new gear into my room once she's gone back to hers, and I'll play it even more on the TV in my room (Assuming my mom will let me have the smaller TV after my sister leaves for college in a week or so). I might get tired, and eventually decide I need to sleep, so I save, go to bed, reading the game manual like a bedtime story. Yes, a bedtime story. The kind that 17 year old Zelda fanatics read.

That's what's most likely to happen.

Re: When you get TP......

I NEVER read instruction booklets for adventure games like Zelda. Because then I would learn what items I will get and so on. So, I will maybe sit and look at the cover, on the front, on the backside. Then open it, put it into the Wii, and play!

Re: When you get TP......

Well, first I'll go into GAME or whatever on release and get my Wii + TP Wii version, hide it in a bag so I dont get mugged my chavs. Go back home and skip school, make sure I have plenty of Coke and Crisps. I'll set up my Wii and be amazed by the motion control and stuff, then play TP, I'll dive right into it without reading the manual and play it for the whole day off school and the weekend also. (I'm sure it's gonna be released on a friday in the UK cause consoles and games are always released on a friday here)

Re: When you get TP......

If I don't preorder, I'll probably get my mom to call Toys R Us as soon as it opens to reserve a copy for me. Then I'll go get it after school. I'll probably play it about an hour at a time, like I do with most new non-handheld games. I play an hour, go do something else, and then come back for another hour when I feel like it. I always read the manual after my first session. I'm too impatient to look through it before playing, but I like to make sure I know all the little details before getting deeper into the game. I didn't know how to do certain moves in Super Mario 64 for years, and I only figured them out once my friends found the manual.

Re: When you get TP......

The first thing we ALL usually do is read the manual don't we? Its not like we can play it when we first buy it...When I first load the game though I will wait to see the little movie they always have when you wait a while at the start screen.

Re: When you get TP......

If it's released on a weekday I'll get it around 7:00. Then after we eat dinner I'll make him take me to go get my pre-ordered copy of Zelda (since May of 2005), and a Wii. Then on the way home I might read the manual or the back of the box. After I get home I'll go to my room plug in my Wii (hopefully I get a better tv than the crappy 19 inch tv in my room.) Then I'll put in my copy of TP and start exploring. (If it's on a weekend then I'll try to get it as soon as possible.)

When I get it, I'll stare at the cover for like an hour, turn it around and read the back about twelve times, stare at the disk for another two hours, erase everything on one of my memory cards, and play it for three days straight.
