twilight realm = Dark World?
Maybe some of you already know the answer to this. But I basically figure "twilight Realm" is just another way of saying Dark World. Ganon has taken over the sacred realm and turned it into the twilight realm..
And I believe it has been said that twilight princess follows windwaker. So that means the great sea in wind waker was drained revealing hyrule underneith. I hope they explain a little of that somehow. Anyway, some time passes and a new link and zelda are born. link is raised as a farmboy and has to go on a quest where he ends up in the twilight realm aka the Dark world. If you remember in Alltp link turns into a pink bunny in the dark world. This time, it's a wolf. (much cooler) At some point in the game he must get an item like the moon pearl to keep him from transforming. Obviously ganon wants to take over hyrule and obtain the triforce. That has always been his goal, and I doubt thats going to change. So link will have to go through dungeons both in hyrule and the twilight realm probably collecting pearls or sages or something to that effect which will lead him to ganon. So what do you think? am I on the right track? Did I get anything wrong? Have anything to add?

Re: twilight realm = Dark World?
The way I see it, the Twilight Realm is a dark energy that effects normal Hyrule, creating patches of darkened and distorted space.
The Dark World is a seperate dimension, but it does seem like it's bleeding through into normal Hyrule. But I think that has been confirmed to not be true.

Re: twilight realm = Dark World?
This should go into the section of theories, which can be found in General Zelda.
I've had a similar theory, and Nintendo might just say certain things to keep us from knowing the story before the game is atleast released. I figured the Twilight Realm was basically the other timeline Link created, or the original one. It is the realm that eventually gets flooded, that's my guess.

Re: twilight realm = Dark World?
The Twilight Realm is not quite the same as the Dark World in previous Zelda titles. In games like A Link to the Past, Four Swords Adventures, and even non-Zelda games like Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, the Dark World was a parallel to the normal "Light" overworld. It was similar, yet different, and existed on another plane.
In Twilight Princess however, the Twilight Realm is most like a strange magical force seeping over Hyrule. It's not really a parallel dimension, but rather a strange force. It is so far assumed (for obvious reasons) that throughout the game, Link may gradually purify, or otherwise push back the Twilight, removing the Twilight from the world. And yeah, you've got the timeline thing way mixed up. Nintendo officials have in fact stated that Twilight Princess is somewhere inbetween Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker. Twilight Princess is NOT Wind Waker 2. As it turns out, The Wind Waker's sequel is an upcoming DS game called The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. |

Re: twilight realm = Dark World?
I dunno about that but if you watch the trailer that first shows Link making his wolf transformation, he walks up to a strange looking port hole and a hand pulls him in. That was from last year so this might have been changed along with the look of the Twilight Realm itself.
