The Way the Ending Should be

We all know that TP is before WW, and we know that there will be a flood, but many people don't want this flood to happen and have a happy ending.

I personally hope for a duel ending, one thats happy, and one thats ominous, like Fire Emblem 7 for instance. FE7, being the prequel to 6, we know that theirs going to be another adventure afterward, and it linked those 2 game together at the end.

The Ending of TP should be the same. It could possilbly show Ganon's escape, LinkW's birth, or the very first raindrops before it says The End.

Well, I have said before that I don't think the game should end with a negative tone... I think the flood should be one of those little pieces of lore, explained in tWW, and not really 'shown' happening... An in-between game thing.

The only reason I say this is because, putting in the flooding might risk the feeling of accomplishment...

Do you mean two possible endings, or one ending that is both happy and sad? Cos if it's the latter I agree with you. Zelda games are usually like that. "Great you saved Hyrule, but now you have to go back in time, seeya!" "Great you saved Termina, but now you have two fairy friends you had to say goodbye to instead of one, seeya!" "Great you saved the great sea, but Hyrule got destroyed, so you've gotta go off and find a new one, seeya!"

With this ending, because it's the back story to tWW (we're all safely assuming) we already know what the sad element will be. But what will be the happy one, and how come no one remembers the hero and what he did?

Simply, Ganondorf was so powerfull this time that TP Link had no choice but to tell the gods to flood Hyrule... Well, I like this ending.

..... why? Why must TP allude to tWW? Why can't it have it's own seperate ending link every single other zelda has? TP is not SW Episode III, no allusions, no obligatory connections.

There are other ways to connect games... like interveiws, leave most all of the timeline explanations out of the game, I'm perfectly fine with explaining hyrules history, but don't tell the future, the ending should be immediate, show us a peaceful Hyrule, a saved land once on the verge of destruction. Show us a rainbow, not rainclouds.

I am kind of hoping for a bitter sweet ending, no flooding of course, that would be lame. But I don't want all the loose ends to be tied.

Exactly! An ending that is both happy and ominus (not sad), so that you know more danger is coming. Maybe something like, 30 years after, Link puts the Master Sword in the basement of Hyrule Castle (just assuming), we hear Ganon's manicle(sp?) laughing. It shows the hylian people on thier knees praying, and just before it sayes The End, dark clouds creep from over the mountains.

Yes, I like that ending. Sorry vacumgod, but I kinda want a Star Wars Ep. III ending. I love seeing little links between games.
