Smile ::The Legend of Zelda:: New look, new environment, abandon the tunic; the old style..

Hi, welcome to "::The Legend of Zelda:: Does it need change?" topic. I have recently been thinking about a new Zelda look in my head. Abandon the old tunic look and create a new one and a new environment. Why not? It would be awesome? Can Nintendo deliver it? I think so...
There are what? OoT/MM/WW spilers inside, just on weapons though. I'm sure the people who have not yet beaten the games can handle a couple of weapon spoilers?

Here is my view of the perfect, original and unique Zelda game for me.
Is anyone sick of the green clothes, green hood, same old sword: the master sword, same old heros/hylian sheild?
In 10 years, if Nintendo are still around, will they be making Zelda games with the same three characters? Zelda, Link and Ganon. Ganon like a mortal god, Zelda, a pink princess and Link in his green costume.

I love the new look of Link and Zelda in TP. Link has the chainamil under his tunic and it has lots of detail, alongside leather asortments etc. His leather gloves are cool too, resemble those ninja ones in a way.

Nintendo have said that TP will be the last of that type of Zelda game. Tp must then be the key to ending the OoT/MM/WW storyline. Doesent matter where it falls in the storyline it will give us the answers we were never looking for but expecting.

I can't believe that Nintendo will keep the look of Link in his green tunic on forever.

What about weapons and items? If TP is the last game ending that storyline, then that means there should not be another return from Ganon for a while.

Weapons such as the master sword will have to go. The Hylian sheild, which was renamed the heros sheild in MM and WW and probably just called the Hylian sheild in TP could stay.

There are items such as the boomerang, bombs, hookshot, and others which seem to be old and are getting tiring. But they are originals which should be re-used but not so much in future games.

I know TP has a very dark look to it. The monsters I have seen look awesome and look dark an original. Not one of them look stupid like the chu jellys from WW or those stupid water spider things from OoT.

Monsters for TP are perfect. But the gameplay so far seems to be just like Oot/MM/WW but enhanced with new things.

I guess making a really dark look to TP would ruin the link between the game and it wouldn't look right.

The new look of everything is awesome. But in the future I would like to see a Fierce Diety type of Link.

I can't believe that Nintendo will still be trying to sport the green tunic again and again. I don't know that for sure. But I think after TP The Legend of Zelda will need much change.

TP from what I can see, will end it beautifally. Everyone who I've shown a TP trailer or pics to think it looks awesome.

If Nintendo were to release the ideal game. It would need the perfect environment. Of course, it'll have green meadows, forests, mines, valleys, deserts etc just like TP.

Can anyone picture Ganondorf's dark look and style in OoT and while your fighting him he was blood thirsty eyes and he shows you his arm and it has the triforce on his hand?

A new Zelda game would need to keep the old Zelda like ways but would need something bigger and newer. I say it should be set in Hyrule because thats where The Legend of Zelda exists. But perhaps this game should be set thousands of years after OoT/MM/TP/WW.

The custom of boys dressing in greens clothes for a day when they come of age should continue. Like a ritual. Like people believe in Jesus, but they believe in the Hero of Time, Hero of the Winds and the TP like maybe?

But this game, is just new. Perhaps at the end of the game you'll be loaded with silver chainmail on your body, leather ninja like style gloves which you can block blades and punches with.
The use of your magic meter has increased dramatically. For example, usually when you fight with your sword it takes magic points away from you. 100 slashes could take half of your magic meter away? But there is an option whether to use magic while your using your sword. But your attacks are more powerful when it is on.

Now getting onto using spells like in MMORPG games or how Zelda does in OoT. I wouldn't be too keen on that because it would take the magic of the previous Zelda games away and will have a new feel. So I would reduce that to this:

There shoud be a certain great fairy in the game which rewards you with:
A spell that allows you to slow down your opponents dramatically and looks like there is a rain or snow type of effect on them.
A different great fairy that burns your opponent slowly but increased your health slowly but only each time you use the spell.

See what I'm getting at now?

I think I should finish up for now with this:

I would love to see Link in a dark hood with a chainmail look for it. Chainmailbody with armour accessories on him like on the shoulders and chest. The leather type of gloves TP Link has, except you upgrade them to metal through the game in the new game. Different types of necklasses and chains around your neck for you to gain, buy, and upgrade to, for imporved ability and look. Nice, leather boots with designs on them.

He should also be able to carry a pritty nice sleek sheild. And the most powerful weapon he should have should be not too massive sized. But at least around 2-2.5m long like in MM Fierce Diety Link.

But being that size you would have to sacrifice your sheild so maybe make the sword a little shorter. But quite wide.

The monsters you have to fight should resemble TP monsters. But many more, and some really massive sized. The more of a variety, the more use they can put the magic meter into.

No changing into animals or other forms. Maybe a few masks to increase your power.

Citizens of Hyrule should have long-pointy ears. Because of the dark-theme of this new game people should be going crazy and some should resemble an enhanced Tingle.

A come back of the Gorons would be good since in WW there were the Goron merchants who had come from a far distant land remember. The bird things from WW would also be great but they take on TP form of style and look very cool.

There should be a come back of Zelda of course and if this game was ever the sequel to WW I think a new Link and Zelda would be somehow related because of you know.. The ending seemed like it would happen.

Most of these aren't little changes, it's kinda late so i won't go to deep into detail but, One thing is for certian if the game features Link you can be damn well sure he'll be wearing green. The point is these kinds of dramatic changes won't happen espically since Zelda has such a large fan base. By putting in this many changes to the series they run the risk of losing fans to if there are changes it's quite doubtful they will be drastic or in bulk so sorry.

yeah, green clothes are never going to change. It's a zelda staple. But perhaps a more king-like, less wizard-like Ganon would be nice.

I like the new Link. Even is a green tunic, a hat, and white tights, he still look like a badass.

Yeah, you would have to apply little changes to every Zelda game so that by the, say, 5 game it'd be what your talking about, but I personally like the way Zelda is now. SO just a few would be okay. Otherwise it wouldn't be Zelda and I'd stop playing.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting it to happen for the Zelda Wii or anything but perhaps in 10 years... And I still think he should start in green clothes. But by half way his uniform should look awesome'''ly different.

I also like the way it is now. But if you count all the classic zelda games.

Green tunic, hat, sword and sheild. Game after game...

Then it hit ocarina of time, same thing for majoras mask. Same again for WW but it went backward with long sleeves.
TP: Green tunic and hat except a lot of leather and metal additions and they've really fixed it up to perfect.

Re: ::The Legend of Zelda:: New look, new environment, abandon the tunic; the old style..

Well, Link without green clothes would be like...

A Final Fantasy without chocobos. . . Oh, wait... Not one of these again...

There can be some new additions, maybe new armor and stuff... Maybe different magic and items later on in the game... But, maybe the green clothes would be a perfect starter..

Without the green clothes, it would be like...

Mario without Luigi... Oh wait... Damn... Forgot about Donkey Kong...

The green tunic will become dead one day. How many more games will N make with Link in a green tunic. Then again, if they keep coming up with brilliant console games like Oot/MM/WW/TP etc etc, they'll set a record. They already beat FF in that anywayz..
