New Voice for Link?

I noticed in the new Demo Video for Twilight Princess, Link has been given a new voice.

This one's a bit gruff-sounding, kind of like the Young Link voice going through puberty or something.

I think I'll miss Noboyuki Hiyama's voice for Link, but This new one seems pretty good, too. Anyone else feel this way?

Well, i'm not sure, but maybe when you put TP in the Wii, Link's voice change...but then again, it shouldn't right?

Well, if Link has a more gruff voice, i'm good with that.

I don't know. To me, TP Link just sounds like OOT Adult Link.

Either way, a more mature-sounding Link will be quite refreshing for me. After just recently playing through Majora's Mask and re-playing The Wind Waker, it would be nice to have a change. Plus, I prefer an older (and older-sounding) Link.

Have you seen the new Demo video yet showing TP on the Wii? It's definetley not the same voice from OOT.

I noticed that as well. I like the deeper voice. I'm definitely glad they're doing a new recording for this game.

But it could very well be Noboyuki Hiyama, for all we know. He is a voice actor, after all, so he could just be adjusting his own voice. That, or his voice has just gotten deeper since OoT. It was pretty obvious that Link's audio from last year were simply clips from the OoT Link, and it's been over eight years since that audio was recorded.

I think it has to do with the new "darker, mature" thing they have going, but I love it. Hey, Link shouldn't be all happy/girly when killing people.

Somehow the voice doesn't match Link's appearance. Anyone else think so? Link's still only a teenager and a young, slightly feminine looking one aswell. This voice would have suited the older looking (judging by the official art) Oot Link.

Not sure, first time i heard it i was a bit worried it would bug me.

but hey, I got used to the cel-shading of WW, got used to the damn windwaker(boy did i have trouble when i first got it)

So if they have a new voice great, i just got to get used to it like i have in every other zelda or any other zelda game for that matter (take goldeneye rogue agent, i hate how 007 dies... or some other agent and then you were working for the bad guy.... but yea)

I think it sucks. It sounds like they took the old Adult Link voice and just lowered the pitch, and it doesn't sound right. I could get used to it, but right now I'm getting worried about Nintendo. First the strange controller, then the weird controls in PH, then the "Wii" name, now a weird voice for Link? I think I need to go lie down...

I really don't think it ws intentionaly. Baby the soudn quality of the game going through two speakers messes his voice up and thats why it soucns so scratchy and deeep. I really hope os because that things sounds just plain nasty to me. My thrught itches when I hear him.

You know the voice sounded familiar, then i rewatched the video... i couldnt help myself its so awsome!

I don't think they would have changed his voice, actually, I think it may have been simply due to the trailer's poor quality. I mean, all the other gameplay footage and trailers from last year's E3 featured Link with the same voice as OOT's adult Link, at least I think so.

At what point does Link make a sound in the trailer? I never caught it.

Not the trailer, the Demo where they show TP's Wii funtionality. Plenty of parts with link swinign the good ol' sword around.

After watching all of the various trailers, I guess I can agree that the voice is deeper than I remember. Still, it doesn't always sound that deep. Sometimes it sounds like OOT Link and other times it sounds deeper.

Eh? It sounds like Noboyuki to me, just a little deeper. I'm cool with it, as long as he still screams and sneezes when he's cold. *squeals*

I'd be so sad to see Noboyuki go. I love him, he's done an awesome job. Please, please tell me it's just him putting on a deeper voice, or the video quality's bad or something. ;_;

I agree it does sound different from Nobuyuki Hiyama's voice.

Then again I'm sure it gets annoying to have to do the voice for Link over & over again when they aren't even the same Link's for most Zelda games.

This voice sounds more gruff and mature. I find it suits him actually. But I will miss Noby's voice acting (providing it's not him using deper voice impressions).

I dunno, different Link, different voice... makes sense to me!
