Re: Link's Roommate

Well, all that's we've seen of him so far shows him as an adult. So is it possible he's old enough to live by himself.

I know a lot of people compare OoT to TP (and I hate it), but I'll have to this time.

In OoT, Link lived in his very own house/room/tree with neighboring kokiri in a Forrest.
In TP, Link lives in his very own house with neighboring humans in a town.

True most of the previous Links have lived with relatives, but this Link is old enough to live on his own (heck, if you read some of the text there are two people that say "When are you going to get married" or "I'd make a nice wife for you"). So yeah, I think Link will be on his own this time around (if there is a family relative in the game, either they move in with him later on in the game, they live somewhere else, or neither).

acctually that was the mayor and a "Friend" not a father or sister or at least they haven't said anything yet, for now we are set to belive they are just friends of links not relitives.

My guess would have to be that he lives on his own considering he is suposed to be "grown up" in this one and he is going to represent his village at the hyrule summit and I don't think they would send a person who has yet to move out of his parents house.

Re: Link's Roommate

yea, in TP they are trying to have a more mature adult Link. having him live with his mother father or grandparent would not be a good way to show that he is mature.

Although i guess if him and a brother share a house together, it would atleast point out that he is sort of on his own and is mature. Well i only say brother because as far as i know Link has never had a brother, he has had a uncle grandma grandpa(i think) he has had a sister. so why not a brother.

Anyways i do think that Link will have his own place, and his family, if he has any, will live in another house on the other side of the village.

It was uncle not grandpa but you where close.

I think a brother would be a good Idea having him have a family would show that he must save hyrule for them. So i agree with that idea. On the other hand I don't think he should live with him it would make him seem to much like a wimp imo. unless of course it was a younger brother then it would be...accecteble(you know that word I can't spell)

Re: Link's Roommate

doesnt he have a Grandpa in TMC?

i know he has a uncle in ALttp.

Also, It would show that he is really mature if he did look after his little brother. Because there parents either abandon them, which means he has been looking after him for all of his life basicly, or that they died and again he had to take up a resonsibility he should never had to take on, which would show he is mature.

Just a sec I will check.

Edit: it dosent say anything about a grandpa in the TMC section of zelda universe but sense I haven't played the game i coulden't tell you for sure.

Edit2: i said it should be his little brother and if it was i would approve. Look up and read the last bit.

Re: Link's Roommate

I was talking about if he had to take care of his little brother for some reason it would show he would be mature from the other Links.

unless im confused, i dont get where your getting at. I was talking about him having a little brother and looking out for him. You were talking about how if he had a older brother it would make him look like a wimp, and if it was his younger brother it would be acceptable.

i must be missing something.

When I said accecteble I ment it would be a good idea but I try to sound as pessimistic as possible. but yes I agree with you about you if he had a little brother.

Re: Link's Roommate

LoZ/AoL: I don't recall Link having a family.
ALttP: Uncle
LA: ???
OoT/MM: Alone in his own tree house, but lives with many neighbors
OoS/OoA: Aunt and Uncle (in the Manga)
tWW: Grandma
FS: ??
FSA: Father (in the Manga)
tMC: Grandpa

So other than seeing Link's paternal parents in a video game, the only one that's left to see is a Link's aunt.

Though she's not technically a relative of Link's, Impa (Zelda's caretaker) acts like a grandmother/Aunt of sorts (at least that would explain LoZ/AoL/OoS/OoA)

Re: Link's Roommate

Heh, funny thing is, for all we know about LoZ/AoL the Link in those games may as well be from a noble family, or even royal.

Yes, he does live on his own. In that exclusive 1 hour gameplay footage at the old Hyrule.net, now Land of the Legend, there's a house with a sign on which is written Link's house.

The manga isin't ment to be taken seriously according to storyline. In the manga link fights Dark Link in Impas village see whats wroung here that never happened you can't use manga to prove your point because its storyline is misshapen.

Re: Link's Roommate

But still, it's manga, not doujinshi, which means it's official. It's not as canon as the games/manuals, but I don't it can be completely discredited as unofficial. Sure, there are contradictions there. But what about the things that doesn't contradict the games/manuals?

Take the OoT manga, for example. There there's a scene where Link dreams of a burning castle on a hill in a field. In the game there are, in fact, remains of a castle/stronghold/whatever on the hill in the plains. Coincidence?
