DS (PH) and TP connectivity

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before but since TP will be playable on the Rev w/ special features, how about DS (PH, but not nececerally) connectivity. It could have loads of uses like maps, items, enemy descriptions etc. And if it linked with PH then mabe you could transfer bonus features from one game to the other.

I'm thinking MUCH grander scale then even FSA because it will be so easy to link Rev with DS with wifi. Perhaps even a multi player aspect with multiple DSs.

You wait a while for them to come and then two come at the same time.
OOA with OOS, FS with ALLTP gba (well dur ), FSA with TMC
And finally TP with PH

Re: DS (PH) and TP connectivity

Well the fact that PH was released to the public that it even existing was released no less then a month ago. And seeing all the trailers, and not enough info given about it, I highly doubt its release will be anytime soon, or anywhere close to the release date of TP. TP will defiantly be released this year (confirmed). If PH somehow was released this year (highly doubtable), it would of most likely be rushed. And that has happened before (WW), the results weren't too satisfying for fans.

So no, I don't think PH will correspond with TP.

Re: DS (PH) and TP connectivity

I didn't just mean connectivity with PH, I meant DS with TP on Rev. Neither WW OR FSA needed a game inserted for GBA-GC connectivity, so I don't see PH being needed inserted in the DS for connectivity.

It's a DS game though. I don't see how connecting it to the Rev. would do anything. And how would that work? You NEED the touch pad to play the game. It wouldn't work if it was connected to the Rev. And both TP and PH have nothing to do with each other. They're both in completely different times. TP being after OOT, and before WW, and PH being a sequel to WW (most likely, to many similarities for it not to be). How would they correspond with each other?

Well, maybe. Look at the video. The stuff is all in english, and it looks relatively well devoloped. It could be released this year.

But no, I don't think there will be any sort of connection. Between TP and PH or even between the Rev and DS for TP.

Re: DS (PH) and TP connectivity

I would hope/think that, because these games are being released close to one another, that some how the Revo would utilize the DS's wifi and there would be some bonus, like an secret/useless unlockable item for TP and PH.

Re: DS (PH) and TP connectivity

There will probably be no connectivity as TP is being released on GC and PH on DS. NR to DS connectivity is what to focus on.

You relize that at this time last year, TP was "confirmed" to be realeasing in the fall, than it was "confimred" to be realesing in January, than it was "confirmed" to by realesing in April, and finally "confirmed" before Thanksgiving. I'm not trusting anything untill I see that game at my local gamestop. So yes, I think PH and TP will be compatable, they are both on the same timeline (one before, one probably after WW), so I can them communicating. As far as I can tell, maybe the WW when insterted into the Revolution can have PH compatability O_o. We just don't know.

That would make more sense. WW looks a lot closer to DS then TP does. The two games look entirely different from each other (TP and PH). There couldn't possibly be any connection between them. From what the trailer shows, it looks like Hyrule is still flooded. But in TP, Hyrule isn’t flooded. Two whole different eras. But there is a possibility there is a connection to WW. And I don't think Nintendo was planning on making PH when they came out with WW, so how could it correspond with it?

Unless they feel like ressurrecting the Tingle tuner concept--I doubt it.

I really hope they don't. That style of gameplay was so useless and un-needed. They would be bringing back an idea that was bad to begin with. I'd be really disappointed if they did.

If Tingle is in TP, I might just start killing some Zelda programmers, and writers.

It's been done before (for the GBA/GC games of Metroid and Prince of Persia), so I wouldn't be surprized if Link will have to collect an item in the game before using the DS (think of it as the upgraded "Tingle Tunner" as it's already been mentioned). It has been stated that the Revolution is capable to download games, correct? Well the DS can temporarilly download games from Downloading Stations, why not have the Rev download a game, and send it to the DS? It has been mentioned before (using the Rev as a Downloading Station), but I thought it needed repeating.

So why would you want to download a game on the Rev. and send it to the DS. When you could just download that game from a DS Downloading Station? Unless there somehow isn't one around your area. But then, wouldn't that take the place of a Download Station?

But, if you're in your own home, you'd be very lucky for your DS to be within range of a download station, however, the Rev would almost always be in range, if you were in your house.

Re: DS (PH) and TP connectivity

Ok sry, mabe I went a LiTtLe bit over the top saying "bigger than FSA", which bacisly relies on on GBA to play it preperly. But I do think when you play TP on Rev you'll be able to connect.

Ideas
-Enemy descrption when you target an enemy
-Map
-Clues (not that I'd need them HA )
A very basic Mrime style logbook (ok that's crazy... but you've gotta admit that'd be cool)
-Something for your frind to look at while thier at your house watching you play lol

Because when you download a demo game/trailer from a Download Station, it is temporary. It will be on your DS until the next time you shut it off (or your batteries run out). The two best reasons to have your Rev act like a Download Station would be:

1. To have a Download Station if one isn't around your area (as you've already mentioned)
2. So you could have your personal Download Station, and play the demo/trailer as many times as you want, without going out of your way to a store near you.

Think of the Downloading Stations like the "Demo Stations" you see in all the stores (you know, where you get to play upcoming games at the stores for free): You get to play it in the stores, but it will soon be on the shelves (the Rev).
