Link marrying Zelda O_o

You think they will ever create a game where Link and Zelda will be Married or was trying to get Married.

Ok, Link walks down the asile and you hear music in the background. Link goes up on the stage (or whatever it's called) and standing next to him is his best man (maybe a goron or something). Link waits for Zelda to come out but she never does. Link sees a huge massive aircraft and then seees Ganon taking Zelda away. Link then must have to save Zelda in order for them to be married.

Think something like this will ever happen?

Re: Link marrying Zelda O_o

Hmm... good question. I really don't know that one. They could, I guess, but that would stray from the Zelda feel. It's like Mario marrying Peach. I don't think Nintendo will have a game where they marry. It could be a great story though. There would have to be more to the quest than just saving Zelda too. Why would they make many different temples to go to if it's just to save Zelda. They would probably have to throw in saving Hyrule too.

in my personal opinion i hope that nintendo never have zelda and link marry, i think it would cripple that sense of mystery sorrounding link and zelda if they were married its just another mystery less to try and solve

Re: Link marrying Zelda O_o

I think that would be the last Zelda game. Seriously though. The game is about "The Legend of Zelda." Wouldn't it be weird from that point on you'd have to save your sister, princess Zelda? I mean, how would they add twists and different plots to the story? You'd basically know everything about the past. The thing is with all Zelda games, the past is mysterious. You don't know about. I like the feel to the game personally. And again, "Legend of Zelda." So how would that work out? Badly if you ask me.

Huh? Aircraft? I'm confused

Just getting Nintendo to imply that LinkxZelda is viable has taken this long (not counting Manga/cartoons) and that's all we can expect from TP.
But aircraft and wedding kidnapping and walking down the aisle? That's really just not going to happen. It's more 'comedy of errors' than Zelda. And remember, they design the plot to be subjugated by gameplay, so there would have to be some REALLY "creative" gameplay to justify such unlikely events.

Plain and simple: no! Lord, no. Zelda never has a truly happy ending. It's always bittersweet, save for in AoL, and possibly LoZ. That's part of what gives the fantasy its slightly dark appeal. Link doesn't get the girl, and it's unrealistic on so many levels for that to happen. 1) Link is not a noble, 2) he has no experience in governing a kingdom, and 3) most royal marriages are prearranged anyway.

Re: Link marrying Zelda O_o

Well, I don't know. I don't think Nintendo will make a game where Link and Zelda marry, but I think it would be nice. I think it would make a good twist to the story. I think it should go something like, before they even come to the part of getting married, Zelda's kidnapped by some new villain and maybe her engagement ring gets stolen too and then Link's got to save Zelda and get the engagement ring back. He'd have go all around Hyrule, through dungeons and stuff. Yeah, that sounds good. Two parts to the quest: save Zelda (and possibly Hyrule) and get the ring back. You know what? I think I'm going to do a fanfic similar to this.

I don't think that they will get married but this is a very good topic to bebate on. Marrage is a possibility, becaus we have heard info that Link and Zelda will share a relationship in the future of this game.

Seriously, he may not be a noble but he may as well be. Saving the whole kingdom from Ganondorf and other Evil, how many nobles can say that? Also in OoT Link becomes a Sworn Brother of the Goron Sage(cant remember his name) Is liked by the Zora's.

Ok so he doesnt have experience in governing a kingdom... but he can learn cant he? after all everyone gots to learn it somehow.

as for the Royal Marriages being prearranged, we dont really know how its done in Hyrule it never really mentions it. But seriously, who would you want marrying your daughter? A noble who hasnt done much, a rich man who is basicly greedy, or a man who can easlily defend her and will go and personally rescue her. the other 2 guys would probably higher a man like Link. Also. So to me Link would be the best choice to have my daughter marry. Sure he doesnt come from Royalty, but he is treated as a legend and hero.

But I really dont think they will ever get married, it is possible that they could get in a relationship but never get married. I also would like to see them get into a relationship other then being friends.

1) Link is Noble, infact he is the most Noble person in Hyrule, he is a Knight of Hyrule.
2) If risking life and limb for a kingdom isnt experiance enough to govern a kingdom, and he would have Zelda's help.
3) I think a prearranged marriage can be changed for someone who save Hyrule from evil.

i dont know why any1 would want to see zelda marry link it would be such a killer to the story line. i like to speculate on zelda-links connection if game developers had them marry then it would make me go "aww why did they spoil such a cool mystery"

Re: Link marrying Zelda O_o

I think it would be very interesting to see Link and Zelda share a relationship other than just being friends. I think it would be more practical in a Zelda game though, to add more mystery to it. Nintendo could have a secret ending to the game, and then you can see then walking down the isle, but if you couldn't unlock the secret ending, the characters would simply imply a wedding. Personally, I think it would be more practical that way.

Exactly! its all about the mystery. Even in majora's mask, the developers dont allow us to see kefafi at his wedding (which was 1 thing i wanted to see after going through the game =P)

Re: Link marrying Zelda O_o

hahaha *dies laughing* well, i'm not miyamoto, so i can't rule that one out. However, Link is a free spirit type of guy, i dont think he wants any more drama in his life at the moment. Besides, that would never work out, the Hero can't be related to zelda, i don't know, it would just be... so... unorthedox, even for the Zelda game series. Link is just some mute guy that stumbles in and awakens as a hero at the right time, in the right place, then he just leaves on some other errand, and that is the last anyone ever hears about him, so no, i don't think they could ever get married. And i think if they share a relationship, it will probably just be like a best-friend type of deal, or maybe a hug before link goes off to seal ganon again, but nothing more than that, the game hasn't been based off of strong feelings like that (except for that little Kafei Anju thing which was so insignificant it shouldn't be mentioned) but that is probably the only marraige related thing we have seen in Zelda games.

Re: Link marrying Zelda O_o

This will NOT happen. If it does it would be the last Zelda game because... If the two chosen ones get married and have children then there would only be 1 descendant of Link and Zelda. Therefore ending the series.

(Or they could have more children but then Zelda and Link related would make it stupid)

Re: Link marrying Zelda O_o

No, it wouldn't work. I agree with ursername180 - there would then only be one descendant and the whole feel of Zelda would be changed due to that. And it would most likely end the series. It may not officially end the series, but games after that would be lacking... unless it was meant to be the very last Zelda game in the timeline and they could still make more games for earlier in the timeline. But nahh, I don't like it. Knowing what is the last and final game would also make it harder for Nintendo to play around with the series.

I think Link and Zelda could get away with having a short relationship, as long as it didn't result in kids. So, marriage? No. Besides, it would destroy the atmosphere between Link and Zelda. You wouldn't be wondering and making theories on what their connection is.

Re: Link marrying Zelda O_o

Yea i guess most agree, them getting married would probably never work out. I mean, the hero was always someone from a family with no Value really. well most of the time.... i think. and Zelda was someone from a Royal Family. Now it would be sorta like the Prince rescueing his sister... which i guess was part of WW... but yea. woudlnt work.

but then most agree, or well some, that it would be nice or could work if Link and Zelda were in some relationship that didnt involve marriage.

They did this already. It was called Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
