What do you look forward to doing in TP?

Well, i was looking through the trailers and started to wonder what i am going to spend my first couple of days doing in TP. I figured, once i can i am going to see how long its going to take to cross Hyrule with out my horse, because i remember hearing that the landscape is going to be HUGE. Then i also thought that i would probably search around on my horse for new things and get the hang of the new gameplay(also noticed lots of new moves in TP)
now im just hoping its sorta like how OoT, MM, and tWW and basicly many other Zelda games where you can do things at your own pace.

Now the point of this thread is to discuss the many things you are looking forward to doing once you get your copy of TP. Whether that be trying to do your first time through a speed run and then going back and taking your time. or exploring the new landscape and learning to become a pro in horseback combat.

if this has been done, sorry i guess i should probably searched better, but from what i saw there was no active topics dealing with this.

so, what do you look forward to doing in TP?

Re: What do you look forward to doing in TP?

(I could of sword I've seen a thread like this...)

Filling the gap between OOT, and WW. In order to do that, I have to complete the game. So I'm looking forward to completing the game. I'm also looking forward to having fun with the new combat style, and (hopefully) look forward to an increase on the difficulty of the combat (curse you "win button" on WW!). And also looking forward to more puzzles; but for the most part. I'm looking forward on completing the game.

I'm looking forward to exploring a vast magical landscape, I want to know that I am partaking in an experience that is shared with so many others. I'm looking forward to the experience itself, the essence of Zelda.

I can't wait to see how it's all set out and how they make use of the new graphics in creating Hyrule. They could do some really awesome stuff from what I've seen of some screenshots. I also am looking forward to the battles on horseback. I'm interested to see how you go about fighting on horseback. But yeah, mainly I just can't wait to see the landscape and explore every part of every area.

I wish to explore. ^^ Adventuring on foot across a vast lanscape, searching to pick out interesting features, and to take my time running around pointlessly as a wolf. And to figure out the limits and advantages of the " dark realm ". I wonder how much of hyrule you can actually explore as a wolf....

Re: What do you look forward to doing in TP?

As is my custom with Zelda games, I look forward to memorizing every inch of every step of every yard and mile of the bast TP landscape. Not merely exploring it, but creating an internal map, as I've always done with past Zeldas. ^^ And not just the overworld, either! Every town, every deep ravine, even the location of every freakin' tree will be logged in my head. It makes me wonder how I can be so navigationally challenged in reality, heheh.

And, of course, I look forward to the horseback battles. I'm curious as to how other weapons might work while mounted. If you can use your sword and bow, why not the hoookshot? Or an instrument? Or...bombs? Heh, Epona wouldn't be too happy about that.

And yes, indeed, there was a thread on this topic quite some time ago. However, it hasn't been active for a long time, so no worries.

I also really am sure this thread has already been made. But what the heck. I wouldn't do a speed run at all, I will explore every single thing in this game. I probably will spend hours and hours in the town only.

Well i guess memorizing a game like Twighlight princess wont be as easy as it has been with the previous games since it will contain more dungeons then any other zelda game and it will have the biggest hyrule ever....so start making some extra free space for TP !

Re: What do you look forward to doing in TP?

Eh, I memorized Hyrule Field as young Link on the first play-through. The towns were simply designed, if amusing, and I've even finally memorized the Water Temple. That place was utter Hell on my navigationally challenged mind the first time through. x_x *Rubs temples at the thought* It was almost physically painful to navigate that dungeon.

In any case, the overworld is what has me most intrigued. I really want to take the time to kick back with the controller and ride around for hours on end, enjoying the sights and taking in the glorious landscape, maybe pausing my travels to watching a sunset or two. ^^ Ah, 'twill certainly be good fun...

Yes...the sunsets are always on of the most interesting things in zelda games...but that will be a sunset we wont see in at least 7-8 mounths

Re: What do you look forward to doing in TP?

Ok, i wasnt sure if there was a thread about this so yea. sorry.

but i see we all have similar things we want to do.

I for one want to take my time and talk to everyone i can, try and memorize Hyrule field or atleast to a point were i can get by on, know the basic areas, nothing like what Wielder of the Sword is going to try and do... hey if you can pull it off with out your brain hurting congratz lol.

I am also going to spend a good amount of time with each weapon and learn the many uses it could have. like say if there is a hookshot, i am going to spend anywhere from 10minutes to 30 minutes figuring out what i can hook onto and stuff, and to get the hang of it. From the trailers i noticed we get a rather cool boomarang, I am defenitly going to spend time and get the hang of it, maybe go back into another temple(assuming we dont get it in the first one) and try it out on those monsters, or find some.

the horse fighting im defenitly going to spend time on, I am probably going to spend my first couple times through that one level with the guy on the boar. and get the hang of it before i continue, just incase more battles are going to take place like that (and i am hoping there will be)

I am also looking forward to learning more about the storyline, im going to read every sign talk to everyone i can.

to bad it wont be out for awhile.

Re: What do you look forward to doing in TP?

Well unless i was mistaken, I heard in a interview that one of the reasons they added the horse was because of the huge area in this game. dont know was mostly looking at the game play...

but from the looks of the Trailers, it looks huge! and hopefully it is much much bigger then the Great sea from WW.

Re: What do you look forward to doing in TP?

I heard that some guy at E3 was riding about 10 minutes with the horse and couldnt reach the end of the map.
if thats true then it must be bigger then the Great sea from WW.

Re: What do you look forward to doing in TP?

Actually, thetrueDEAD, it takes somewhere around twenty minutes to get from one end of the map to the other in tWW. If you think that's long, try cruising across it. Speaking of which, I still need to figure out how long that would take. First, I'd have to set a course where no enemies would interrupt me, but I think I already know where to find that.

In any case, the overworld is going to be at least three times the size of that in OoT, according to Aonuma. It takes ten minutes (without rolling) to cross Hyrule Field from end to end at its widest points, so that means it will take around 35 minutes to cross the land on foot. It looks like Epona travels about triple the speed of Link, so it would take somewhere around ten minutes to cross... But if what you say is true, the overworld may well be four or five times the size of Hyrule Field. In that case, I simply can't wait! ^^

By the way, Tre, I'm drawing a map of Hyrule Field from memory (trees and bushes included) to prove I'm not speaking out of my arse. It's coming along really well, but my perfectionist tendencies are forcing me to make it more accurate than necessary, so I might not finish it before I have to leave the library (an hour and ten minutes, about--and I'm starting to get bored). I'm also including the holes in the field, as well as the locations of various heart pieces there. << I can't quite seem to remember just how many trees were in that area with the two big poes. I believe it was fourteen, but I don't quite recall...it's been a while since I played OoT. I do remember that there were four trees across the river at the northeast end, though.

[EDIT] Blah, this is boring. Here, just take what I've gotten so far. *Three minutes later* ...What the hell?! 195 max KB for a bitmap?! Oh, that is just wrong! Grr...nevermind, then. Apparently, ZU can't handle bitmaps more than 100 pixels across.
