Re: OoT remake

This has been talked about SO MANY times...OOT remake? No way... OOT already served its purpose on being on of the best Zelda games of all time, and THE BEST game in history (so far). Remaking OOT isn't such a good idea. No ands, ifs, buts about it. I see TP as sort of a remake of OOT. Since it has the old Hyrule, (and possibly some old characters). It just has a new story ^_~. Remaking OOT would be like remaking a Super Mario Bros. game into 3D...It just wouldn't have the original classic feel to it.

If companies decided to re-make classic games, then there would be no more classics.

Re: OoT remake

I'd say it's a great idea if it weren't for the fact that Ocarina of Time has been re-released twice already, in the Master Quest disc and the Collector's Edition disc on GameCube. Bringing it to Revolution in any form besides the download feature, or porting it to DS, for that matter, would make the game extremely watered-down and used up, and it would probably have a much bigger negative effect than positive. Sure, many of us would think it'd be cool and all, but many others would also think the time and money should have been put into making a new Zelda game, and others would curse Nintendo for sending Zelda down the same road as Mario.

So, while I think it would be cool to see Ocarina of Time in mega-improved graphics, I don't think it's necessarily a good idea.

As mentioned before, they have milked the OoT cow dry too many times... There are 3 versions and one revamped one out so far, how many more do you really need?

Re: OoT remake

I would love to play a "revamped" OoT, but i wouldnt want them to make one. I'd rather them spend time on new games rather than revamping old ones, especially those that are already 3D. I wouldn't mind it if they made a ALttP or LoZ remake.

Yeah, but there are some of us who cna't get a console, either from irritating parents or limited funds...

Re: OoT remake

well then, if you can't get a console, what the handheld version going to make a difference. It won't

And when you do get the funds, you have a choice. Seriously, the way they are going, they are going to make a rev remake for when that launches...

I do have the funds, may parents won't let me get any consoles. All they will let me get is a DS. Who knows why...

Because apparently the DS rots your brain less than a console would...

That seems like flawed logic... (aka, i'm agreeing with you)

Re: OoT remake

I don't want Oot being remaked. It would be better if they just let Oot as it is. I rather see some new Zelda games instead of remakes of older Zelda games.

Re: OoT remake

I agree, no more OOT remakes. Or re-releases, for that matter. Nintendo needs to move on to (hopefully) better games!

It's gonna be downloadable on the Rev, not to mention directly playable from the Collector's Edition Gamecube disk. I don't think it needs to be portable as well.

Re: OoT remake

as much as i would love to have them remake OoT with a little more detail and do that, i dont think it would be best for them. They should focus on future Zelda games instead of the old ones we know and love. if they were to do this i think it would be in there best interest and ours if they did it as a side project. Nothing that they would constantly work on or spend lots of time on.

but as i see it, its best to leave it as it is.

Re: OoT remake

If one more Ocarina of Time remake is made, I will crap in Miyamoto's face for allowing such an atrocity to happen. You want an Ocarina of Time remake? Choose one of the existing ones.

I really think it's too early to judge whether Twilight Princess will be better than Ocarina of Time or not, to tell the truth.

Re: OoT remake

....There hasn't even been ONE OoT remake. And it was only re-released once.

If any game needs to be remade, it's OoT. I don't think it saw it's full potientail.

Oh God . . .

I would say most Zelda fans see it as the ideal Zelda. A few even consider it the best game ever made. I think you're in the vast minority in saying it didn't realize its full potential, unless you believe no game reaches its full potential, which isn't a bad point, but I doubt that's what you're getting at.

I would say Adventure of Link, ALTTP, and the original are all better canidates for a remake. They were limited by technology. Particularly the two NES games. There is a lot of wiggle room. Much could be added.

OoT? It would be the same thing with better graphics. Might as well just make a new game. Not to say I wouldn't buy an OoT remake. I'm sure many would.

Re: OoT remake

Better graphics, right, that's a given.

Let's talk about what matters: (which is alot more than my gripes with the game)

How about, larger areas, new areas, longer dungeons, perhaps a NEW dungeon or two, tweaked (because many of them really need to be) boss fights, new items, horseback combat, new mini-games and overhualed puzzles?

Hell, I'd be all over it.

So would I, but wouldn't a 3D representation of a 2D game interest you more? Even as an OoT fan, I say it would be better to give another game a chance to shine. Preferrably, a lesser known one.

To me, a game ideal for remaking is a game that didn't get it right the first time (AoL), or was limited by technology (ALTTP, LoZ), is less popular (Link's Awakening), or has a ton of room to add stuff (LoZ, AoL).

I don't see the sense in remaking OoT. Most people feel it was fine the first time. The game you just described is essentially Twilight Princess. Twilight Princess seems to be the "spiritual successor" to OoT, and I couldn't be happier.
