I like the way these two think.

Since Shadow Battle was a success for FSA, I honestly don't see why Nintendo shouldn't incorperate that same idea onto PH. Nintendo has said that this will not be a four swords game, so I have my doubt of seeing a 4 Link multiplayer in the main game. But as a side game (like Shadow Battle, as I've mentioned) I think it would be awesome online aswell.

It's not so far-fetched, since this is a similar plot to MM, right?
Dude....that is the best idea I've heard since OoT! Ok, maybe it would be too much time traveling, but it would be cool. Just imagine traveling/playing/fighting some old games in 3D (I'd like to see ALttP Link in 3D). As cool as that idea sounds, I think it would be too much on a DS system. You should send that idea to Nintendo. No joke.

As far as having an ocarina... well, any wind instrument would make sense, wouldn't it? With the DS's microphone, you could use the buttons on the DS for different notes and how hard you blow on the mic would change the pitch. Stuff like that, you know? Yea... you know.
Dude...that is the best idea I've heard on how to use the DS' microphone! Man you're creative.

But how hard would that be if you breathe hard, but if its only for creating your own music yeah it would work.If it were supposed to use the microphone how about at the beginning of every profile it scans your voice and assigns different notes for you to say.

Maybe now that his boat doesn't talk at him anymore, now he needs something to keep him busy on those long sailing trips... like... engine repair? Beats me.

Re: Official Phantom Hourglass Thread

I'm gonna have to kill a few people's hopes here. I downloaded the high-res version of the trailer off IGN. (I have a subscription. Yes, I'm a geek.) No, that's not the ocarina. It's still the cannon, just a smaller graphic. It's *very* clear in the high-res trailer.

It also looks like he's got a new sword. I'm supposing this is another spinoff adventure, like Majora's Mask.

Re: Official Phantom Hourglass Thread

It's possible there's a connection. Maybe this is evidence that TP comes after PH? That wouldn't make sense, since Miyamoto said that TP was supposed to come shortly after OoT. But! Like I said before, this isn't nessecarily a direct sequel to WW, and I think there's enough evidence to suggest that PH's Link isn't the Hero of Winds. Anyway, here's my hair-brained theory: PH takes place, wherein PH's Link get the Master Sword and, eventually, hides it again. Who's to say he doesn't hide it in some sort of temple? Such as the one he'll probably find the Phantom Hourglass in? That would explain the decor on that block, at least.

We have to keep in mind that that's a fairly old screenshot, and things could have changed by now. It's more likely to just be a coincidence than have any resemblance to my theories.

Brilliant observation there Bengan, but keep in mind the age of that screen shot, it was taken when TP was first announced.

Nice observation and all that, but to me: design of the block. It could be a timed puzzle, so the blocks have the hourglass to remind you. Plus, why would such a link exist? This is reminds me of the fake "Vatti" link, with the eyes on the shields of the lizards: http://media.cube.ign.com/media/572/...g_2125777.html

...and the Majora's moon situation..

Re: Official Phantom Hourglass Thread

When I first saw that I thought that Link was in somekind of Timetemple.
But when i saw Pt I know that I had seen the symbol before. Sure, its an old pic. but I thought that it was cool.

Edit: (I will see if I could make it clearer in photoshop, but now I am in school and I should not be writing this:embrsd: )

Re: Official Phantom Hourglass Thread

Ok, guys, just becuase smething makes an appearance in more than one Zelda game doesn't always mean there's a connection. We'll technically, there is.....they're both Zelda games. That's usally about as deep as the connection gets. How can we NOT expect designs and concepts to carry over from one game to another? THEY'RE IN THE SAME SERIES after all.

Alot of Zelda games take place in the completely different universes and aren't part of the same timeline/story. Alot of you need to realize that.

Yes, but why an hour glass? It's in a fire dungeon, and time isn't a theme in TP.

And where's that evidence? The faerie? Riiiiiiiiight. In MM Link has a faerie so that's got to be Navi, regardless of what the game says. I think the sea-travelling theme provides more evidence of where it is in the timeline.

Why crescent-moons on the blocks in OoT's Deku Tree? It's a . . . wood dungeon, and the moon isn't a theme in OoT.

Ha. Seeing that picture reminded me how much I would have preferred they show Twilight Princess again. I realize the need to show the new one is greater, but in all honesty, showing either doesn't seem to make a lot of sense at GDC anyway.

Whoever found that hourglass in the Twilight Princess screenshot has a good eye (and probably too much time), but it is so subtle. I doubt there is a connection here.

I personally hoped it was going to be in an OoT graphic style, but there is always another game. Not that I'm hating on Cel-Shading, no no, I love it, but Cel-Shading like this can happen in a plethora of Zeldas well after the DS has come and gone -- What's the chances of us seeing an OoT Graphical-Style Zelda again after the DS has gone?
