Possible reason TP got delayed till late 06

I was at Gamespy.com just lookin around then it said somthing about Tp being delayed til late 2006. So i read it, and it said something about it being delayed because PS3 is gonna sell in late 06 to. So maybe Nintendo wanted some compotition. but really, i think it should come out in april, I DON"T WANNA WAIT ANY LONGER!

If fighting the PS3 is why they delayed,why did they delay it in the first place? I remember reading in an article that Nintedno delayed the game in Nov 05 becuase they were afraid of the X-Box 360 sales. Weird...anyway,I hope it comes out soon.

As far as we're aware, the game has been delayed for further development time, either because:

a) Nintendo feel the game is not satisfactory for release, and need to add content; polish up any existing content; revise any areas of the game or aspects of the story.

b) Nintendo are adding Revolution features to the game. Although I don't believe this, it may be something to consider.

Tough luck. We all have to wait. I'd rather wait until the Winter for a game which will be a more finished product than something that is rushed out because a handful of fans aren't patient.

It's to add more stuff, and more Revolution features. I thought these whole 'Reason why TP was delayed topics' were over and done with

I doubt that's true. Nintendo will have the Rev to counter PS3 sales by that time.

I really think the delay was due to the fact that early on, TP sucked. And so they took a year to make it awesome. If you look back on those old screens, so of the stuff seems really grey and ordinary (very un-Zelda) though some of it looks really cool. Probably, they took it too far in the D&D category, and had to revitalize it with whimsy and color.
Plus, fan expectations are through the roof. They have to live up to high standards.
And with a delay a year long, what's a little extra time to sell the rev on Zelda compatibility?

It's most likely because Nintendo wants one of the 2 most anticipated items in gaming industry right now. TP, and the Rev. I believe that Nintendo is somewhat afraid of Sony. So TP was pushed back most likely because they want to counter-act the juggernaut that is the PS3. The Rev. and TP will most likely come around the same time the PS3 comes out. I couldn't imagine what other Nintendo merchandise could possibly compete with the PS3. It's highly probable...I think it's a smart move for Nintendo. (I'm not a Sony fan boy. I'm just simply commenting on why I think the TP is being pushed back)
