Something we could never, never expect?

Miyamoto has stated previously that TP will include something that we would never, never expect. What in the world does this mean? Different Ganon? Does Link actually fail in the end? Alternate ending? Please post comments!

Re: Something we could never, never expect?

There's alot we can't expect. This thread may be filled with ideas and none of them may be right, but I'll start.
Ganondorf could be on your side at some point or may even be the lesser evil. But those ideas are fairly common. They may expand on his background and give a twist you could never expect, like 'Ganondorf is a father!'.
Those are but a few ideas.

Re: Something we could never, never expect?

I have read an interesting article suggesting that Link's days may be numbered:

http://www.thehylia.com/twilight_requiem.shtml

If Twilight Princess really takes place between WW and OoT, then we know for a fact that things end badly, because Hyrule ends up being flooded. The article states:

"Didn't The Wind Waker clearly state that after Ocarina of Time, the Hero of Time vanished and Ganon came back? And because of this, the people were helpless and the gods were forced to flood the land of Hyrule? How could any game take place between these two games...especially if Hyrule is flooded and no hero appeared?"

Though the official zelda timeline ( http://kasuto.net/university.php?mai.../timeline.html ) may offer some counterpoints to this, it's still an interesting theory. (The timeline has one flaw - how can WW Link be OoT Link's great times a million grandson if OoT Link was only ten or eleven when he left Hyrule? Getting busy early, aren't we, Link?)

I could personally see TP Link running to touch the Triforce and wishing with his dying breath that the goddesses flood Hyrule and freeze it rather than have Ganon take it. I could see him drowning, along with the rest of the world, seeing the faces of the people you met in the game as the credits roll, seeing them drown or whatever. It would be very sad, but it'd be cool too, in a neat way.

This post has gotten too long. Opinions?

Re: Something we could never, never expect?

This has been my theory for quite a long time. I've always pictured the last scene of Twilight Princess as being Zelda gazing up towards the rain-swelled thunderclouds as the first rain begins to fall. In that case she should say something depressing such as :"Such is the fate of Hyrule..." or something of the like, and then the screen turns black as you hear the crack of thunder and rain. That...would...be...DEPRESSING! But yet dramatic, which makes it good. If I cried at the end of OOT, I would SOB at the end of that ending... Wow...

But your ending (in the above post) is quite good too. I suppose that's the direction Nintendo would be going for, but we must THINK OF SOMETHING! LINK CAN'T DIE! You know why? Because the Link in WW is the descendent of the Hero of Time. If everyone dies in Hyrule, it wouldn't work. The WW Link wouldn't have even been born and then the storyline would be messed up.

Or MAYBE...

Maybe Hyrule in TP sided with Ganondorf and the whole kingdom was enveloped in shadow. In the end, Link and Zelda escape from Hyrule and watch it from a high mountaintop being flooded by the goddesses, who were angry with their Chosen People! THEN the storyline would WORK! Hm....

I believe that the flood will happen during TP.

Water will be pouring down,

I borrowed that... very much like Zelda dramatics

And so Zelda escapes (Tetra needs to come from someone)

And Link destroys the Twilight on the waves!

Something we could never expect? I'm not too sure what's gonna happen, but I have a feeling that Link will fail somehow.
Do you guys remember what Ganondorf said at the end of OoT? Well,I won't spoil it,but people who have beat OoT should know. Maybe the thing we could never expect was what Ganondorf was talking about.(assuming,of course that TP comes after OoT)

I'm not gonna put in spoiler tags, because I can't get them to work for crap.

Then again,it might have something to do with the Twilight...I've always thought it was the Sacred Realm.

Hmmmn Ganon a father......that gives me an idea. Since alot of people still speculate who Midna could be. Maybe she and Ganon are more closely tied than we let ourselves think. This is just a theory of mine, but what if Midna is just using Link in the Twighlight realm only to get acceptance from Ganon by showing him that she can be just as deceitful as he can be. Once again this is just a thought of mine.

Like me, I think, Ganondorf and Link teaming up to destroy the greater power would be good, just say Ganny lost his piece of the Triforce, teams with Link to destroy the greater evil, then takes the Triforce piece back and then an epic battle at the end.

Yes, yes that's a theory too. I this game I pictured Ganondorf as sort of a meek character. If this sounds weird, Aounuma DID say that Ganondorf would appear differently than he has before. Does this mean he's not the real enemy here? What if Midna was really the Evil that you're fighting? It wouldn't really fit into the WW... Wait! Yes it would! If it was Ganondorf that spread the TR, but realized he needed to defeat Midna because she was overthrowing him somehow... Yes! See, then Ganondorf "spread the darkness", which is the TR, and if you combine this with my theory before, it could work! HEHE I have some SERIOUS expectations for this game.

Re: Something we could never, never expect?

I would always think that they would give Twilight Princess a bitter sweet ending, you would win but at the sacrafice of something great. Depending on where this game takes place (and I'm not 100% sure where it does because people have talked about mistranslations), we are not sure if Link really did make it back from Termina, all we know is that Link continued his search. I hope they dwell more into different parts of Ganon, such as what led him to become such an evil being, have bits of his past revealed to you.

This would be interesting. More depth to characters always makes a game better. I never liked fighting villains that were purely evil, anyway. The whole plot would seem a bit dry if they didn't have emotion or story in it. I don't know about you guys, but I happen to like it when there is a dramatically sad/bittersweet ending to something. Let's take the Gladiator for example: There was a tragic end to the movie, but it showed how life kept movie on after his death, how people were influenced greatly with Maxiumus in their lives. Something emotional needs to be at the end of TP, something tragic or mysterious... something that makes you want to (dare I say this) play tWW all over again! Maybe Nintendo will even strive to bring out an extended version of tWW after this, to spike people's interst. So, in summary, I will go as far as to say, I will be dissapointed if TP's ending does not bring me a tear or two.
