Question A War in TP?

I was watching the TP trailer over again and I was thinking what if Link deosn't fight all the creatures that rise at the sun part. What if there is a war or big battle between the bad creatures and Hyrule soldiers and link leads the attact as a genral or somthing?please post your reply.

Re: A War in TP?

I personally would love that. I can picture it now..........A massive green landscape. Good on one side, evil on the other.........A drum sounds......the sides charge......link at the front atop epona, ganon atop his horse leading the evil forces........SMASH.....death on all sides.

Like I said id think it would be class.

Ya, so long as it doesn't go total strategy RPG, other-wise it may ruin the experience.

Re: A War in TP?

I don't know if that's what they are going to do, but it would be very original to zelda and therefore would be way awesome.

Re: A War in TP?

Um, why did you quote yourself and not say anything about it? Anyways, I hope there's no war. Probably what they're going to have you do is protect small villages from the marauding bokoblins and keep them from destroying the village. Of course, if you fail, they'll just rebuild the village, but it'd just end up being destroyed again if you didn't do anything to stop the bokoblins.

Re: A War in TP?

I think a war is exactly what Zelda needs. It just seems like the kind of game that it would suit; have all the races, Zoras, Gorons, Hylians, against Ganondorf's evil army... not that I know for sure that those races will be there, but that would be freaking sweet. I hope there is one in TP, but like Magic said, no strategy format please.

Maybe have about 1,000 soldiers on each side. The battle would be long, maybe twenty-thirty minutes in length, not too long, so if you die you won't become totally annoyed. In control of Link, you ride around a massive field, slicing foes from their mounts and helping others fight, perhaps have a dark storm brewing overhead... until finally, you reach Ganondorf (or another unknown main baddie in TP), who rides straight for you. Amongst the rest of the fighting you fight him until at last Link sinks his sword into the evil one's chest... The clouds seperate and the rain stops, the sun's rays lighting the battle ground. The Hylians stand victorious, and Ganondorf falls to the ground before you...

Now that is what I want to see..!

Re: A War in TP?

Yeah, and then the whole Zelda timeline is thrown into a massive paradox wormhole from which nothing can escape, and then the universe as we know it will end up collapsing into itself, completely destroying time and existence.

Re: A War in TP?

I don't tend to translate metaphors easily. I think it would be better then having to go through the same, old timeline that Zelda's been sticking with for so long. Only now are they finally breaking away from the whole "save the princess" gig. Like MM for example. If someone were to describe to you the plot before the game came out, being something like, an evil skullkid takes a mask and attempts to crush the world with the moon. Wouldn't that sound completely absurd? But after playing it, you, well I, realised how awesome of a game it was, because the timeline was so interesting and different. Don't worry about the Zelda timeline, I think the developers will figure it out, instead of it being cast into an enless hole... or whatever.

Re: A War in TP?

Yes, my knowledge of theoretical physics has melted another mind! Anyways, I just don't think a massive war would be good for TP. It'd make it seem too much like Lord of the Rings or something. What Zelda is about is just a single hero going on a massive adventure all alone in order to save the world and possibly complete a more personal objective. Throwing in a war (which would involve the hero working with others) would ruin the Zelda feel. Zelda has a very defined feel to it, and it's one that mustn't be tampered with. But thanks, anyway. You reminded me that I've got a file on MM that I haven't completed yet.

Re: A War in TP?

Well, I can see your view about that. I guess it sort of would ruin that overall theme in a way. Maybe there could be a war, but Link wouldn't fight in it? Sort of on the side of the whole storyline...

Re: A War in TP?

Maybe he should enter an area and a war is already going on. Then he has to fight his way through to the end and take whatever side you want to fight on. Or maybe everyone is your enemy and it's a huge blood bath.

Re: A War in TP?

No,a war wouldn't go good with Zelda. Link is a warrior on his own. Maybe one without Link in the battle. Like he was in a dungeon and it went to cutscene with an enormous battle. Then when you get out of the dungeon, there is just ruins everywhere.

Or one with JUST Link by himself fighting thousands of troops. I'd like to do something like that...

Sorry, I think I've caught something.

A war would be awsome! Nintendo's stolen everything else from LoTR, why not this?

Actually, I would like to see a huge titanic battle between at least three opposing factions (Royal Family, Moblinkin, Villagers). Throw in some Trebutchets, and you got yourself one awsome E3 show. Hooray!

Re: A War in TP?

A war in TP? Yes, please! That would certainly spice things up a bit
It would really certainly put LoZ in a new perspective. But how should it fit the story? They can't just attack eachother like that...?

War in TP?

Pro:
This would be very interesting. Zelda takes place in Medieval Times and wars are an essential part of that age.

In this case it would introduce a bit of politics into the game, which would make it even more interesting (politics are the thing I liked about FE:path of radiance, so it does fit in videogames)

Contra:

This is definitely true. If the good guys' army is too big, Link can't be the hero he usually is.

My conclusion:
There should be a war in the game, but it can't have much emphasis. That would take away a too big part of Link's characteristics.

Re: A War in TP?

It is not the imprisoning war because that took place in OoT when link was asleep.

Re: A War in TP?

What? But the master sword was made during the imprisoning war, wasn't it? So the imprisoning war was long before OoT.

Re: A War in TP?

Maybe the war in TP would be something like the huge war between the droids and the gungers in Star Wars Episode 1...? A distraction just to lead the droids away from their headquarter... Maybe Nintendo will make something like that out of the war in TP. The Hylians, the Gorons and the Zoras will fight Ganondorfs army just to draw them away from Ganons Castle, or wherever Ganondorf is hiding, so Link can just walk right to him and fight him...

Would that work?

How would Nintendo steal from LoTR when Zelda came out before the series. What, exactly, do you say that they took from LoTR anyway?
