Two Ganondorfs theory
Ok - this was a thread I made ages ago sometimes last year, but there were few replies, so, out of interest, I wanted to know what people thought of this idea, now I've tweaked it slightly.
Of course, this is all highly speculation, and is most likely to never happen, but... I wasn't sure if this would go in General zelda, or TP spoilers, so, forgive my mis-placed ness. To my interpretation, it seems that Wind Waker was based on the events that transpired in the Adult Link storyline in Ocarina of time, (adult Link is seperated from the timeline where Hyrule, under Ganon's rule, made him the Hero of Time, and by being sent back in Time, and never pulling the Master Sword, thus, not being chosen by the Blade to become the Hero of Time - explaining his departure in Wind waker's prologue) - so what if Twilight Princess is the the continuation, but in the Child Link perspective - which could explain why Ganondorf would be confirmed for the game. I have disregarded the idea that Wind Waker takes place in the Child Link timeline, as his journey to Termina was merely a journey to a parallel dimension, connected to Hyrule - and not a complete segregation of the world, and additionally, in the Child timeline, he retains the triforce. After Link in Ocarina of Time was sent back, he was taken back to the very first time he ever met Zelda - therefore, he never opened the Door of Time (after sealing it again, after being sent back) to allow Ganondorf to enter the Sacred Realm to obtain the Triforce, which would still be retained by the Ganon, sealed away in the evil realm. Therefore, in Future Zelda games, based on a Child Link lineage, Ganondorf whether the original (survivng time through his own magic) or a descendant/re-incarnation, would still be able to roam freely, since he never acquired the triforce, and was never sealed away by Adult Link. However, After Ganon was sealed away in the Adult story of Ocarina of Time, he survived through time, due to the effects of the triforce of Power, and the effects of the Evil realm, but being a totally different World, seperated from Hyrule, he wouldn't be affected by the change in the timelines - I mean, if at night, you turn on your bedroom light, the dark night outside your window doesn't turn to day, does it? Based on my theories above, this could explain why two Ganon/dorfs could be plausable in a Future game - one who has the right to live, since he is naturally a being of Hyrule and the other, sealed away in another World (OOT Ganondorf). Perhaps, if OOT Ganondorf breaks out of his prison in the evil realm (which he sems to have a knack for), it is because he has an open channel to hyrule (if we assume that he tries to open a link to the Ganondorf in the second timeline), via the Ganondorf that lives after the Child Link line - and used this connection to break out - but based on ideas od spiritual balance, and some other spiritual beliefs - two souls/two of the same identities cannot live in existance- therefore two Ganondorfs living in Hyrule would upset the balance of the land, and create chaos - possibly the cause of the Twilight virus itself, for example, in Twilight Princess, or other negative/positive effects on the land in a given form. Feel free to argue and dispute (or agree) as much as you want! ![]()

Re: Two Ganondorfs theory
I read the original one of these a long time ago... and I still say that it's plausable but doubtful. Nintendo wouldn't really want two Gnondorfs... right? I mean, one was bad enough...

Re: Two Ganondorfs theory
Wow thats the best theory I've seen here in a long time =\
But anyway, Its very good...Nice thinking there. But I don't think Zelda would sent Link back to his own time with a Ganondorf running around? I mean that defends the whole purpose of Links own journey. If he sealed away Ganon in the future and then he goes back to the pasted just todo it all over again? I don't think Nintendo had that in mind...They just made it so Ganon was sealed in that realm and he is now not in the pasted. Its interesting though...And I think you asked this question to Mr.Miyamoto himself I doubt he'd really know what your talking about ![]()

As I said earlier though, in the Adult Link timeline, after the Sages Seal Ganon away into the Dark World/realm, he is cut off completely from Hyrule. When Link is sent back, it is so he can prevent Ganondorf in the past from Obtaining access to the realm (where Ganon would reside, as the realm is unaffected buy time in a mortal plane) and thus prevent Hyrule's destruction from occuring. Because Ganon was sealed in the Future, nothing in the past changes. Past influences Future, not the reverse. Like I said, if you turn on a light in your house at night, the night sky doesn't become day. ![]()

Re: Two Ganondorfs theory
As a Sci-Fi geek, (yes I admit it) I realized something.
The theories of time travel tell us this: If you were to travel to the past, some believe that the events that lead to your creation can be altered, and you can... change. However, you still stay in the past, the way you are, because you were like that before travelling back (unlike the Back to the Future movies...). However, it DOES create an alternate timeline. This makes it so that you still exist as the two divided times. So, technically, the two Ganondorfs are still in existance as themselves even though the events leading up to their fates may no longer have happened. So, maybe, just maybe, Nintendo would apply this to the game. However, we must remember that Nintendo wants TP to be a game for all ages... and the timeline thing is a bit complicated... So I just gave more scientific credit to your theory... Not that the light in the room thing wasn't good...

Re: Two Ganondorfs theory
I always thought that Zelda sent Link back to just after Ganondorf entered the sacred realm. So then Link places the sword back in the pedestal and seals both Ganondorf's in the sacred realm. This will also cause problems that may leak out of the sacred realm in the form of twilight areas.

Good job SuperDecimal!!! I like your theory.
Maybe nintendo has a very good explanation about the whole timeline thing and maybe they made it look like it is complicated, maybe they want us to think of complicated timelines to keep us busy(typical for japanese people). But again I like your theory.

WOW thats a cool theory but... if you listen to MM when he gets the OOT back he has a vision of when he left zelda and i think when you see at the end of OOT link is saying goodbye to zelda and sages are still sages when he gets sent bak zelda changed the time not the time line she made them young again...but in saying that TWW makes it seem as though young link killed ganon "a boy garbed in green" link was 18 when he fought ganon (it is obvious he was 18 because TWW link was 12 and he came to age) and 18 is not classed as a boy is it? I think that the timeline theory will be debated until nintendo spell it out for us!

Re: Two Ganondorfs theory
I agree with most of what you said Jake-man14, but Ganon has always classified Link as boy, even in the OoT battle he says that he couldn't have been beaten by a kid and tears down the castle. Other than that I don't know why Zelda is looking into the window, but I doubt it's because she is spying on Ganondorf. If she was then that would mean that OoT would be either seperate from the timeline of the rest of the series or it would have been the last Zelda game. Think about it, if Link went back in time he would be stuck in a loop and there wouldn't have been a point to it. Zelda just changed it so that Link and Zelda were young again so they could live out the rest of their lives normally. Other than that, it is a pretty nice theory.

Re: Two Ganondorfs theory
Okay, here's my idea. THERE'S ONLY ONE TIMELINE! God, I'm tired of what you all say about there being twin timelines. Sure, there could be two, but they'd be exactly the same! (Well, almost...) After Link went back, don't you think he would have told Zelda about what happened and then they'd tell the king and his advisors what Ganondorf was plotting? That's where the Imprisoning War comes in. Oh, wait, new timeline theory. Hm... Could possibly explain Four Swords... Okay, well, dual timelines are pretty much crap. I'm just making one because people obviously care so much more about them than single timeline timelines.

Re: Two Ganondorfs theory
WTF?! Can someone explain why my post was deleted? I didn't write anything bad in it, I only explained how it is possible for 2 timelines and how there aren't. I accually took the time to state how both sides have good arguements, and both sides could be right. I answered one of Jake's questions and examined the possibilities of 2 timelines. As far as I know, that isn't spam, or any way to get the post deleted. So can someone please tell me why it isn't here anymore????
I am aware that this post might be consitered spam, and if you consider it spam then tell me and I will get rid of it, or delete it yourselves. (like you did my other not spam post) |

Re: Two Ganondorfs theory
Perosnaly I feel there is only one ganondorf. The reason being is that I think that in the relm of hyrule there is only one you in all of time and space. See if link happened to have a time machien and go to the futur instead of speeding time then I feel he would not find himself anwhere and the same goes for the past. So this leads me to belive that sealing ganondorf in the future would prevent would make him not available as well in child link's time. The other thing is that maby the gods and the sacrid relm aren't bound by time at all so even if what I said before was false, ganondorf once locked away would be zaped out of time period. So yeah thats what I'm thinking.

Re: Two Ganondorfs theory
I believe the 2 Ganons theory.....That would actually make a huge twist in the game.....
also, why was ganon changed from a Pig/hog like creature (from NES, SNES and cartoons) to a human like being? I know you got gannondorf and ganon, but, in ALTTP, they refer to the "Pig/hog" Ganon to "Ganondorf", Just a question |

Re: Two Ganondorfs theory
OK!! What if the sacred realm was irrrespective of time. As lugeasilver said, "sealing ganondorf in the future would prevent would make him not available as well in child link's time".
Now here comes the slightly contoversial part. When Link takes the sword from the stone, He himself is not simply transported into the future, but Everyting and everyone is moved to the future. Link is not simply moved to an alternate future where every one is grown up, but everyone has travelled with himand at that point in time, time stands still in the past, and vice versa when Link returns to the past. Right, now link travels back in time to seal the master sword for the final time to seal the temple of time and the master sword until it is needed again. This must be for at least seven years (until the time sequences have caught each other up). In these seven years, ganondorf is locked in the sacred realm so hyrule lives in peace and link makes his voyage into termina. (It doesnt matter even if he escapes before the seven years are up as he can only enter the young link timeline as the adult link is standing still). Now when young links timeline catches up with adult link timeline, it is simply overwritten. Meaning the adult timeline is no more. Only link and the sages know how Ganondorf was sealed, and thats why it is passed down as a legend, and why the details seem not very well known in the future.
