Official TP Release/Delay Thread

Hey, I was wondering if Twilight Princess is definetly coming out in April. Or is this just most likely going to happen? Because I have been awaititng an April release, and my local EB sales man just told me its not due till sometime in June. Is he just guessing or is it true that it is mostlikely to come out in june rather than april? What I'm basically trying to ask is: Is the game more likely to come out in April or June? based on what nintendo has told us so far.

*Any discussion about the release of TP and any discussion on possible delays should be discussed here. Any threads created for those purposes will be deleted on sight. Thank you*

Do not listen to them. NP said it will be release in 1Q, so April is the date.

Nobody knows but the Mario club staff. I'm pretty sure the majority of the nintendo staff doesn't even know.

Re: Official TP Release/Delay Thread

it would be idiotic to release it after E3 so yeh liek said above April is most likely the date.

Re: Official TP Release/Delay Thread

I stil don't think it would be a wise company choice for Nintendo to release TP after E3 this year. You do realize that this would make the game under a three year developement if not 3.5 years counting its developement before it was shown in the E3 showcase two years ago. The fact is is that Nintendo can not come up with any reason to delay the game any further because they have already confirmed the game was ready in Q4 2005, but decided to delay it into Q1 or Q2 of 2006. Their reason for that was to sharpen up the game and make it look and feel more interesting in its great advancements.

Nentendo is keeping their mouth shut latly on the matter because they are trying to come up with a just reason, if any, to try to deay TP again. And it would be not be fair if Nintendo did not give a just reason to delay TP into Q3 or Q4. I feel in this case that Nintendo is trying to deceive the customers and fans of the LoZ series by not confirming the release date. Why else are they not saying anything lately? Its simple. Their trying to come up with a just reason for another delay if they can, so they can release it around Christmas where sales will be unbelievably higher on such an anticipated game. The anticipation shuld stop here in Q1 or Q2. This is how I feel.

Re: Official TP Release/Delay Thread

I feel the exact same way as you LOZ Historian.

Now before i get into this, i just want to say I love Nintendo, and ive always been a loyal fan for their company and most of their games...but as soon as the whole "NGC article" thing happened and they claimed that Nintendo said that TP would be compatible with Rev...Nintendo kept their mouths shut and neither admitted to its legitamacy nor denied the claims that NGC made. This made me feel very deceived. Why couldnt Nintendo just say Yes or No, about the NGC article. Nintendo are being very careful with their "wording" latley..and giving all the Zelda fans a big run around...and i really dont think its wise from a buisness ethic for them to do that. Yes we will all buy TP when it finally comes out...wether it comes out in April of '06 or April of '07..we will all buy it and enjoy it..,.but Nintendo will have left us with a sour taste in our mouths about how they play with the minds of their consumers.

The wisest thing for Nintendo to do is to release TP in mid April...like April 15th. They first announced that TP was ready..and that it was going to be avaliable in Novmber '05...then they delayed it because of reasons to enhance the overall game and add incredible new elemts to the game...therefore, there is NO reason to push it beyond April. If it is going to take from 11-05 to beyond April '06 then someone isnt doing their staffing job right...because it doesnt take more than 4 months to add "incredible new elements" to a game...wether it be "Rev controller funtionality" or "new dungeons"..or both. 4 months should be more than enough time...and if its not..then word to Nintendo..HIRE MORE WORKERS, CODERS...whatever.

Sorry if this sounds like a rant....but it IS. I needed to let off a little TP steam..and i think you should all do the same...cause i feel better now...after all we have a great selection of games to choose from right now...like ..umm...lemme see...Hello Kitty Roller Derby, and Super Monkey Ball..what is it..1000...oh i was wrong its Super Monkey Ball 999. The least they could do is throw us the release date....you know they have it, they just dont want us to know it...and thats like the govenrment witholding the truth about UFO's. We deserve to know the facts fellow Zelda fans...and we deserve to know it now!.

Re: Official TP Release/Delay Thread

The answer is as obvious as the nose on my and everyone else on this forums face! Twilight Princess will come out when The Revolution comes out. Nintendo has been full of BS the entire time about this issue. I don't think they ever intended to release the game for the GC. Watch and see!

5th/12th of May(ish).

Well, that's waht I'm hoping, realistically... Although that's just after E3, so perhaps not. Any earlier would be nice, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it was later...

Re: Official TP Release/Delay Thread

I am expecting it to be in April, before E3, but it doesn't matter what I think. For all we know, Nintendo could release it December 06 (which would be a completely bad move).

The truth is: nobody here knows.

Re: Official TP Release/Delay Thread

I would be extremely angry if it was postponed again. For you see, I have always been a diehard Zelda fan, and I was peeved enough as it is to see that they are postponing it from their last "release date" which was last November. I for one am getting sick and tired of all of their excuses, like a few others before me exclaimed.

I hope it comes out for gamecube, although lately I am rather doubting that it will. That would mean less business. Consider it. How many of us would buy the Revolution if the new Zelda game was only available on that system? I know I would, and I'm sure a lot of others would too. Even though I am extremely poor right now, I would buy it the day it came out, which I still will.

So to end this short rant, I just want to say, "HURRY UP NINTENDO! GET YOUR BUTTS ON THE CLOCK!" Okay...I'm done. I know they are working hard, but I'm impatient like that. Hope it's before May 18 though. That's my birthday, would be nice to get it around there or before. ^^ Rock on!

You forget, Sakume, that people who don't have GC will buy the Gamecube itself for TP.

5th is just before, 12th is just after. Games always come out on a Friday, so it'd probably be one of them... And looking at Nintendo's Q2 release list they don't have anything scheduled for the 12th.

Sakume also forgot the revolution was backward-compatible. I Think they will keep pushing it and put it on the revolution. It's all Satoru Iwata's fault! BLAME HIM!

Re: Official TP Release/Delay Thread

Remeber agggeeees ago when Nintendo said that they will give us all a release date after March31st, is it just me or has everybody jumped in and straight away assumed that Nintendo will release the game in april, i'v just been thinking and what if Nintendo ment that we would get the release date after march31st which would (to me) mean that they plan on a Q3 or even Q4 release not a Q2

Re: Official TP Release/Delay Thread

It's all a real big maby. The fact of the metter is that probobly no one knows when twilight princess is comeing out. The only man to answer that is shigiru myamoto. And I don't think he would answer that.

Than obviously E3(which is early this year, may 10-12), then TGS in september. Now Nintendo have said that they would like to release the revolution before thanksgiving, which is in november, naturally. Also, Nintendo ahve said they are going to release it after this fiscal year, which wraps up at the end of march for them.

Seeings as though its insanely suicidal for Nintendo to release TP AFTER the revolution comes out, that gives us the range of dates between April 1 and the start of November.

Narrow it down more, and you can see the window is shorter. TGS is in september, which will surely be Nintendo's final show of the revolution before it's release, any final info they ahve, game clips etc. will be then, and they can't have TP taking the spotlight off the revolution at this stage, not to mention that there needs to be a bit of a gap between the release of the revolution and Zelda.

So, this gives us between the start of april and middle of September..

... at the most.

E3 last year for Nintendo WAS Zelda. if you took Zelda out, all they had was mariokart and Odama. friggin Odama. That's weak. The zelda booth was the size of the average african country, it even had its own agriculture. If Zelda still isnt out by E3, nintendo wil aheva lot to answer for, and hence will at the least need to give us some new media. This again will take the spotlight off the revolution and the DS, but Nintendo could possibly still not release it by this date.

Fianlly, a few days ago i heard from a passing wind that Reggie will be giving a 45 mintue speech at some conference february 9. don't ask me where, i cant remember, but i did. To further cement it, in an interview with some zelda developer, again my memory is hazy, he said to watch that date. I believe a final teaser trailer for zelda, possibly featuring... Ganon, as it's been confirmed he's in the game, along with its release date, will be announced then.

I'm going to bank the middle of April. Let's the public get Zelda out of their system before E3 so Nintendo can focus on publicizing the DS and more importantly Revolution this year. Nintendo could very well leave it a bit later after E3, but would NEED to give us an exact release date if that was the case, and like i said, it would have to be released by spetember the latest
Zelda could be a revolution title, and there is some common sense and clues to back this statement up, but nintendo have time and time again stated specifically that TP will NOT be a rev title, so the best we can do when figuring a date is follow nintendo's statement that it won't be. Why would Nintendo lie? they have nothing to gain by making people think Zelda will be a GCN title when it wont be. No-one waiting for TP to buy a gamecube is going to buy one NOW, the will wait until it has released, purchase it in an inevitable bundle.
