Wouldn't it be cool if OoT and MM could be remade?

They will never re-make them in terms of graphics...but they might re-make them by adding more dungeons. Lets put it this way...lets say OOT was being remade. Would you rather have a remake with 5 new dungeons and horse combat....or "prettier graphics"? I just dont see the sense in re-making an rpg, because you already know where everything is, what the bosses are like, what the ending is...if OOT was re-made at all, it would only be for "Homage" purposes and kind of like a salute to the greates game of all time. I guess it could be done....but i would only want it done when graphics are much better and when video games take a real giant leap in the technology department.

I don't know why I bother reading these "wouldn't it be cool" threads anymore. They always start off bad and then they end even worse.

The overwhelming answer is always no. Remakes never sell half as good as the originals, and to top it off, it makes Nintendo look cheesey. Add 5 more dungeaons? I think the name for that remake should be "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time... as well as these five random extra dungeons that barely tie into the plot and are there just because we thought it would make this remake cool, but it doesn't" To make it shorter OOT, AWATFREDTBTITPAATJBWTIWMTRC,BID.

i think that they should remake OOT and MM but not for the revelotion but for the DS, they did remake super mario64 and know its for the DS so yeah they should remake them.

Mario DS, along with the few other DS remakes, was made to show off DS' power. Plus, Mario Party 7 is a clue in on the fact that they have remarketed the Mario games a little too much. Next we'll have Mario Balances the Checkbook.

Zelda is not remarketed. If it is, it comes as a bonus with new zelda games or demos. That is all.

I loved that if you pre-orderd WW you got OoT, it was great to play OoT on GCN even though I had it on N64. If they contue to do this it will be great, If it makes fans mad then they are not real fans, A real Star Wars fan buys all the different copies of the movies even though they are remakes, I am a real fan.

Sorry, I gotta go against the grain on this one. I think it would be cool to see OoT and MM remade, with spiffy new graphics. It would be pretty neat seeing Death Mountain and Lake Hylia with dazzling, clean graphics. It wouldn't change the gameplay, of course, so I probably wouldn't play the re-make too many times (unless it was that dazzling), but it would still be cool to see.

Now, between having a remake or new Zelda game, I'd pick the new game, of course. If Nintendo had enough resources to devote to a remake, then I'd be all for it.

True, but seeing as the only possibly good Zelda game to come out since OOT has been MM and hopefully TP, I'm not sure if I want any more of this cartoon/cel shaded crap. It looks like they weren't even trying. I do texturing and the WW textures look totally half-ass (no offense to my buddy Djipi), plus the 3d models were'nt any better than OOT when you really look at it, just a little smoother, you still see pointy edges where there should be a circle. but off the subject of Cel Zelda, remakes are not as badass as some people think they are, and they aren't as bad as others say they are. Here's an idea, Nintendo, quit releasing old games with no improved graphics whatsoever and quit releasing half-ass made new games. TP will be a shining star for what Zelda should have been before WW made it into a Rocky and Bullwinkle show. Forget old games, forget new games, learn from the past and look to the future. No, nintendo, WW was not the future, TP may be the future, hopefully they are learning....ok, enough of my rant. Both sides...shut up.

I have the wirdest feeling that a mod will come along and lock this now, because you have made what i call " an argument finisher" which is self explanatory. But, i have a thing to say. Zelda ww was nothing like rocky and bullwinkle. I enjoyed all of the zelda games that i have played. I find that if you dont enjoy all of the zleda games and you only like OOT, o maybe MM, you are probably not a very big zelda fan. You just like a game. You need to love a series to love Zelda- loving OOT/MM/random other game and no otehrs does not make you a big zelda fan. Just a little observation i picked up. =D

Should they be remade - nooooooooooooo. The nostalgic look is what adds to OOTs charm - it is a look that can't be brought.

If you want ultra graphics from a new system then the Twilight Princess will satisfy your cravings - Nintendo may not of done anything of note for a few years but slowly but surely the optimism in me is growing. After all, a company that made OOT and MM can't suddenly turn crap overnight, surely?

I disagree there. In my opinion the only good game since LA is TMC (and don't say it's short, because MM is even shorter, and has far less secrets). And actually, unlike OoT TWW, in my eyes, has TRUE Zelda magic (gave me some ALttP nostalgia at certain points). I'm not trying to argue your opinion. I'm only showing that others have different opinions.

Though I don't think that any of the games released after LA are good in Zelda standards - except TMC - I personally think that in some ways TWW is far supperior to OoT. Besides, it doesn't have all that hype. I used to like OoT more before I joined the community. Now, however, my like for the game has fallen drastically because of the hype. I hope the same doesn't happen with TP, though I'm pessimistic.

But anyway, the conclusion to this is that we NEED those less famous Zelda games.

It's kind of ironic that you first bash cel-shading and then praise TP. TP is, after all, built on the same engine as TWW. Cel-shading has nothing to do with cartoony graphics. It's those flashes that come when you kill an enemy in TWW and TP.

Anyway, this is slightly off topic. To get back on topic, the only games, in my opinion, that can be justified to be remade (if people really wants to take their console Zeldas with them on summer vacations or whatever I think it'd be better if Nintendo just rereleased them on a handheld, rather than remake them) are LoZ and AoL.

They have said that they want the timeline to make more sense, but those classics says almost nothing. The only kind of information about the timeline is the back story of AoL which, until another game where Link gathers the whole Triforce is released, links the games to ALttP.

I think a 3D remake of those two games, using the official artworks as basis for the looks of the games, should be made (at least one for AoL). They should include legends and lore that connects the games with other games in the series, and lots of extras that weren't in the originals would be cool. And maybe some actual sub-quests.

By that I don't mean the ordinary side-quests, but rather actual quests (could include exploring some minor dungeons) that you can do if you're bored or stuck on the main quest. The latter suggestion is especially meant for AoL, as there aren't any towns or many NPCs in LoZ.

Well, those little Ds cartriges are somewhere like 1 gb of storage, maning that we can have OoT, MM, a link between the two worlds, and probably LoZ and AoL, maybe instead of those, Alttp! They are large disks. I would preferablly like a new game, OoT is dead, and MM was never as good, (even though it is my favorite Zelda game, it never was OoT by many, many people).

Ok, there is only one reason they should remake OoT and MM for the DS: Portability.
I just started playing Majora's Mask again, and thought of how cool it would be to play this anywhere. Well I would love to see these games brought on the DS, not with improved graphics, more gameplay, or extra plot, but just the games we know and love, all in a portable form.
That's the whole point of remaking old games for the DS, and I know it sounds like a rip-off or would be boring, but face it OoT and MM are amazing games that no matter how many times played, would be fun time and time again.
Maybe a few easter eggs thrown in would be cool, but really all I want is the original game. Just in the portable goodness we all know and love.

Honestly, I don't see what's wrong with a remake. A change of graphics is always a great way to refresh and old image. But they way I see it, Oot/MM should be remade with the WW's engine. It would be really cool to see Hyrule in cel-shades, wouldn't you say?

Isnt TP basicly like that but,diffrent story line and is diffrent villge you start out in.
