Shields?

In Oot lik got 3 shields, MM he got 2, and in WW he got 2. I think he should get way more shields. Sizes, abilities, reflections, all that stuff.

Shields really aren't a big deal. I mean the Sword is the real deal. But as Nintendo have said they want to make it a better game than OoT. So its most likely going to be 2-3Shields.

I just hope its not just the Hylian Shield and a "Mirror" Shield. Hopefully they will get more creative in that area. Personally Im more worried about the whole "combining" items and sword selections.

ya, but when i say reflections, i mean that there should be, like some soret of fire shield, that is strong against fire, but weak against water, ect. All im saying is that it would make the game a lot more in-depth.

Well remember...The Mirror shield did that in OoT. So the mirror shield can have more than one purpose.

I hope that I get like 14,268,085,236 sheilds! Man! Iluvdasheilds! I just don't like switching them so much, maybe instead of getting NEW sheilds they get upgrades on them

Maybe you'll be able to choose between a number of different shield designs, or even be able to design your own!

In terms of abilities, well the mirror shield is pretty much a certainty. It's in every other 3d Zelda. But it'd be nice to see some shields with some other properties. It's good to see that the shield will be more necessary in this game.

yeah, something new, like a new type of mirror shield or a custom shield. At least something new to shield power and design would be nice.

Actually, now that i think about it, I agree with AcidRain. upgrades would be a better idea...

Shields aren't interesting enough to warrant more than two or three. After all, how many different features can a shield have? Unless Nintendo finds a way to noticeably differentiate every single shield from every other shield, there shouldn't be very many. I'm not a supporter of including more items just because.

I mean that your wrong. The shields count's also.. Same as swords! But i really think that it would be clumsy to have more than 3 shields to choose about.
Elemental shields could be an idea but i would like elemental monsters also.
When talking about shields i would also like some armour to Epona.. Just for fun actually. ^^

OoT really only had "2" sheilds, you could change between 2 sheilds at any given time, but anywho, I think it would be fitting to let feral link have a sheild (mounted on his back akin to child link using the hylian sheild in OoT), and let human link use 2 sheilds, his regular and his mirror sheild, now of course there would need to be a reason as to why one would be given the option of changing between the hylian and mirror sheilds, since well, since Alttp the mirror sheild has always been better. TP should allow the mirror and hylian sheilds to have their own pros and cons

Just hope that this time, the mirror shield is gone. they have to figure out something cooler this time

Why would he need more shields.They serve two purposes defending and reflecting light(mirror shield)i really see no other point.Most people simply choose their favorite and fight with that all the time.Plus too many shields creates problems like in solving certain problems link could reflect light or shoot this or kill the wizrobe.It simply makes dungeon design WAY too complicated.

I like to have more of a varity to choose from, I vote more than 3

I vote 3 shields with pros and cons

e.g.
Sturdy shield - Can't block elements but can easily block physical attacks
Hylian Shield - Overall balance
Mirror Shield - Is stronger against non-physical things like reflects light, fire, electricity etc.

yeah just keep it at 2-3, it worked well in all other games in my opinion, as they say if it aint broken dont fix it. Maybe something new with the mirror sheild though like been able to absorb magic attacks and release the magic back at enemies either through the sheild or the sword.

The only reason OoT had 3 was because young link needed a shield in the beginning.
3 would work in TP just because the game is very long. Anything more would just be needless corny additions.

I'd say a Dark Shield would be corny, but maybe if you got it after beating Dark Link .. that wouldnt be so bad.

3 Max-this is Zelda-not a fancy FF-style RPG with a million different types of armor-shileds-etc.this is all about exploration-*and yes I do like FF-and RPGs-this just isnt that kind of game*-that's my view- and what is this combining items im hearing about?
