The very first thing upon pressing start...

What is the very very first thing you will do after you press that start button?!!

Some players will explore mountainous terrain, others will simply not touch the contoller and see what Link does when left idle. I for one will head straight for the water....i want to see how gorgeous the water system is!

I think this is a good thread, because it shows what players are most anxious to do, or looking foward to the most.

Re: The very first thing upon pressing start...

Hard question. I think I won't find out till I actually get to that point in time, but I guess I'll just wonder around slowly, taking in all the details. I guess theres a story first though, and I know I'm not going to miss a word of that. *rolls around the floor in excitement*

Re: The very first thing upon pressing start...

I figure I'll explore link's house to the fullest before I venture out and explore every single availible space in taoru, after which I'll play through the obligatory 3 item quest, then I'll explore all I can.

Re: The very first thing upon pressing start...

Heck, before I even hit start, I'm gonna let the title screen run through whatever demo it has. (unforunately for Wind Waker this meant I saw the opening scroll twice - but it was cool so I didn't mind too much).

Knowing me, right after I press start, my parents will pick that particular moment to call me and then I'll be dancing back and forth on the phone like a little kid who has to go to the bathroom, while Link does his idle animation in the background, or someone's dialogue box is left open.

Re: The very first thing upon pressing start...

First, I will, as is ritually done whenever I first start to play a new game, do my happy jig. Kind of hard to explain, but...

Anyway, I would explore every nook and cranny I can find before moving on. Before I do move on, I plan to know every spec of detail by heart, the best to inform my friends with.

And that I would watch the scene and drool at the quality of it all... So... entrancing...

*Starts to drool*

By the way, does anyone know where I can get a full versoin of the song "The wait is over"? I am making a fan trailer for when the game comes out. I don't plan to finish it unless a new trailer comes out now, but it would be good to start.

By the way, I heard somewhere that there would be a release of info before the new year... What happened to that?

What I will do after I press start.

Realize that I was so excited to play the game I forgot to plug in the controller.

Re: The very first thing upon pressing start...

Wander Aimlessly around the town for ages before I even talk to anyone taking in all the beauty of the game. Then gaze up at the sky and dive into the rivers. I'm always interested in how games craft the sky and water. After what will probably be more than an hour I'll talk to someone and start playing the game properly
Of course I will also watch, what i hope to be, a great opening demo

Re: The very first thing upon pressing start...

Hm... Yeah, this one is tough. I'll save the demo, though. I've waited too long to just watch a collection of short little clips when I could be playing the game. First time through, I'm just going to have maybe 15 or 16 Heart Containers and two or three bottles by the end. Just a first time playthrough. Kinda hard for me to explain, because it's between a speed run and 100% completion.
Edit: Woot, 1000th post!

Re: The very first thing upon pressing start...

First of all let the title screen do it's job, like I did with OoT, MM and WW.

After that there won't be a single inch left in Taoru village that was able to be explored and no minigame left before I leave the town >=)

Re: The very first thing upon pressing start...

i'm gonna explore the town, explore it again, and make sure i didn't miss anything while exploring. then, even though it's BORING, i'll talk to every fricking person in toaru, just to get any little information possible, then i'll actually start the actual story.

Re: The very first thing upon pressing start...

I would do a speedrun. Maybe.

I would atleast not bother standing around doing all trivial stuff. I mean, what's the point with that?

Re: The very first thing upon pressing start...

I would probably spend the first 15 minutes exploring my surroundings, talking to NPC's and figuring out the combat system.(Should be exactly like WW's.) After that I will find a sword & sheild and go on an expeditionary manhunt to slaughter Moblins and just see what situations I stumble upon. At least that is my success formula to the way I have always played Zelda games.

The very moment I press start I'm going to pull out my horse and jump that fence and get it moving. I'm gonna be the first person in the usa to beat tp! Yay me!

Re: The very first thing upon pressing start...

Well, if it ever DOES come out ...

Then, I shall talk to every single person. And of course, explore the pots and grass ... and then, bust out with my horse and just well, enjoy the game. I usually take a while with Zelda games, I'm more or less of a perfectionist. But I think I'm gonna be so ancy that I'll just plow right through it.

But it's hard to say, because I don't know whats THERE yet... I haven't been reading every stupid article on it, or veiwing every single screen shot, so its all gonna be a surprise. Which is the way I like it.

Re: The very first thing upon pressing start...

uhhh, run up to a bush and push the UP C-stick button to look at the fine detail. I love it when you can see the pixels when really close, but from far away it looks so REAL! (for example, in SSBM, Sheik's trophy with her doing the fighting stance has these obvious pixels when you zoom in on her shoulder to see the ripped edges of her odd...face-covering thing....)

Re: The very first thing upon pressing start...

Sudenly I've changed my mind. When I get twilight princess I'm going to first explore Tauru, and work with my horse. I also want to have mastered the new sword techniquins on that dummy downtown. I also want to learn the easiest way to use (If you can name the hawk...) randegon's abilitys in a fast way. I'm also wondering if you use the wistles automaticaly or just play the song.
