Red and blue glow

Have anybody noticed that sword interaction ominates a red or blue glow, depending on if it's offensive or defensive? Now, I'm curious as to how that will affect the feel and realism of the game. What do you guys think?

I can't say I'd noticed that. Got any screenshots to show this in action?

Re: Red and blue glow

You can see it quite clearly on the trailers, I think!

Re: Red and blue glow

As far as I know(which is about... 3 metres ) you use your sword for offensive attacks, never defensive. Thats why they created the Shield

If I get this right, you refer to the sparks (or something) that appears when you hit an enemy(red sparks/flash/whatever) or when an enemy hit your shield(blue sparks/flash/whatever).

I guess the main reason is varioation. And naturally, offense is red and defense blue, anything else would look silly(maybe red and green would work but why change the classics, everybody gets it)

What I meant with defensive sword attack is that when your sword attack fails - if you hit a shield for exsample - the spark is blue, not red. Anyway, I feel that the glow/spark lessens the realism a little, although not much. I feel the same way about that weird teleport thing, but I guess you won't notice it when you get used to it.

Re: Red and blue glow

It won't make any difference. Red emphasizes an attack (the colour of blood) and blue shows a defense manuever (Blue's a strong colour). It's just for effect.

Ok. Well the realism of a game is a thing that can be discussed forever, as the discussion about cell shading graphics or something like that.
Myself, I like the flashes, as they
A) clearly shows when I hit someone
B) I'm not very into way realistic games, I don't mind a little unrealistic effects. After all, it's Zelda, so what's the deal with having everything look like this world?

This isnt completely true, i think. It seems like you can parry arrows ( and maybe more stuff ) in the videos where he rides on the horse.

Re: Red and blue glow

If you freeze the picture, you see the spaks are clearly at the shield, not at the sword. Of course this COULD be a lack of coordination as the game still is in development.

I agree completely. Just for effect. And, that shows you how detailed the game really is.
