Haha! I was right suckers!

Yes indeed!

I don't know if any of you remember, but a month or two ago i started a thread suggesting that the extra developement time on TP may be being used to convert the game so that people can play it in a different way when the revolution comes out.

Well, guess who just got proved right! It was confirmed in issue #115 of NGC magazine (january edition), which i recieved on my doormat this morning.

IMPORTANT: THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT IS ONLY OUT ON REVOLUTION.
It is still due to come out on the cube, but it means that a short number of months after it's release, anyone who buys a revolution will be able to replay it with an entirely new control system.
How the new system will work exactly is not yet confirmed, but i'm sure we all have a pretty good idea, seeing as there have been at least 5 threads about it's possibility.

It was also mentioned in the article, that every character is fully motion captured, and each one is being individually modelled. which i'm sure everyone will agree is very good news, and a hefty task aswell, considering the number of characters there are likely to be, based on screens from the village scenes and the shot of the town that was released in august.

so there you go, I am officially some sort of oracle.

Re: Twight Princess to play with Revolution Controller

NGC?
I stopped reading after the conversion from N64, and started reading NOM. :embrsd:
Anyhow, not to be rude in any way, but why would Nintendo devote so much extra time to fasion the remote Revolution controller to play Twilight Princess, when the Revolution itself has ports to plug in the Gamecube controllers and memory cards?
I think it's a bit of a waste of time personally.
Never-the-less, sounds like inspiring stuff *imagines swinging controller, and watching Link swing Swing sword, using the Numchuku expansion for movement*
...yes, I do know I contradicted myself a little.

A scan would be nice too.

How is it a waste of time? TP has already been proclaimed to be a benchmark for gameplay in future Zelda games. Consider this to be... practice, for when they have to make Revolution-centric games. To be perfectly honest, I've been 80% certain that this would happen all along. ^_^ Now ZU has two oracles! Woohoo! Feel my psychic power, mortals! *lifts chair with mind* *accidentally hurls chair through wall* ...Whoops.

Hey, Robino, would you mind writing out the article and pasting it here? I'd be grateful.

This seems very wise of Nintendo, reawrding those who bought a Gamecube, and rewarding those who buy a Revolution.

1. Please change the topic so it is more descriptive...I almost made a clone topic.
2. Somebody posted scans at GameFAQs awhile ago and I put them online...but it seems you have the .bmp files...so if you scanned them I guess you are the originator of the scans.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be cool to see Twilight Princess working with the revolution remote, but I think that the remote and its' features could have been much better used on games like: the Metroid Prime series, in particular, I mean, I know that they've shown at Demo expos the Metroid Games working with the controller, with the Remote itself as Samus' arm cannon, the C-stick, and the Numchuku expansion as the Control Stick to walk around.
If TP is going to be 'Revved' up slightly, I'm all for it, let me just quote something I said earlier,

i feel the same way. we're all accustomed to a controller controller, and last time i played a game at an arcade where you swing a controller (it was a samurai game) i got killed after 1 level. i hope nintendo doesn't bomb this, i hate sony and microsoft

anyhoo, about twilight princess. no harm can come from it. if you don't like using the revolution controller, use the gamecube, as well as vice versa. this is an idea with a lot of potential, and they should do a good job on it.

man, i can't believe all those people saying it was gonna be on the revolution were right.... how weird.

Re: Twight Princess to play with Revolution Controller

I'm skeptical.

The publication backs up their information with absolutely nothing. If a major source confirms it, then I'll be more likely to believe it.

Plus, I doubt that it's going to be delayed until the end of 2006, especially after Reggie said April only a couple weeks ago.

If it's delayed past Q2, I'm going to be a bit pissed.

I guess other people scanned them up, I'm not a member at Gamefaqs.
I would also recommend that you read the scans that TSA posted, they load quicker.

Another good thing is that this will add replay value, seeing as the two quests will be quite different.

NGC is a major source. Plus they said they would announce the release date in April.

Re: Twight Princess to play with Revolution Controller

Here's what makes me skeptical.

They say on the first page, in big, bold, bright red letters:

REVOLUTION LAUNCH DATE REVEALED

and then go on to say:

"While we don't know the exact day, it seems that it will most likely arrive in the UK in November, just in time for Christmas."

That makes them look so...profoundly...stupid. The headline indicates that an actual date has been revealed, when in reality it is only a time period that has been widely speculated for some time now. Also, including the words "seems" and "most likely" are not a good idea when trying to convince your readers that your information is accurate.

Although that doesn't necessarily negate the information they presented regarding Twilight Princess, it does make their reporting look very questionable. At this point, I'm still anticipating an April release date for Twilight Princess.

exactly, this whole article provided a more "what if" scenario, it's a hype article, spend 6 or so pages talking about TP simply to get fans excited, well, I guess they succedded for the younger audiences.

Re: Twight Princess to play with Revolution Controller

Well, I agree that the authinicity of the article is dubious, however, I have been getting NGC for over a year, and they seem to be a trustworthy source. Although they may have misunderstood Nintendo, as they did when they though that the new Gameboy being announced would be a new Gameboy generation, but it was only a GBM.

Re: Twight Princess to play with Revolution Controller

Sorry i didn't get round to putting up some scans, but it looks like someone beat me to it anyway.

Well, you have the right to skeptical if you are unfarmilliar with the publication, but i have been reading the magazine for many years now and i have found them to be by far the most trustworthy source i can find, moreso than NOM as NGC is independant so it actually questions things that seem odd. the fact that they didn't specify their source did confuse me slightly, as they usually do, but there has never been any reason to question them before.

It has also just been put up on Gamesradar.co.uk who publish NGC and about 20 other popular magazines so there is no chance they are working from a rumour and they certainly wouldn't start one themselves.
