Post Next gen Zelda and what it could have to make it revolutionary

I know TP isn't out yet, but what kind of things can the next generation of Zelda bring to us? What kind of inovations can it have that will make it better than every other adventure game? Here's what I think:

*NPC interaction would be cool to see if every NPC had their own schedual. I'd love to see people doing their own thing and they do something different every day through out the weeks. It could lead to alot of side quests and mini games too, much like Majora's Mask but much more evolved. It'd be awesome for there to be on maybe lets say, wednsdays that that's the day where the Gorons go hunting for rocks or something. On certian days they can be succesfull and on other days they will fail and starve for a week.

*Different things could happen on different days too, maybe depending upon the day/week/month/year/ect something different would happen. I'd like to see weather change depending upon the season in the game, that would be really beautiful, or maybe if you changed your game clock to winter or something, it would snow often and people would be in their house drinking hot coca or lon lon coffee or something like that. Random weather effects would be cool, on rainy days people would have umbrellas or maybe they would be inside with a cold!

*I'd love for there to be lots of places to explore too, and lots of dungeons. There doesn't have to be more than 10 for the main quest, but there should be an optional few that are side dungeons. I know Zelda will never break over 11 dungeons, but common, Elder Scrolls oblivion has over 200 dungeons, about the same length of the dungeons from Zelda games (Maybe even longer)! I'd like to see atleast 20. 10 normal story dungeons and ten optional ones. If Nintendo put their hearts into the game and spent a couple years on it, this could be acheived. Also, I'd like to see lots and lots of towns, filled with people.

*Buying your own house would be cool to have, I loved winning the Cabana in Wind Waker so I could just chill out. But maybe you could buy it off someone for a large sum of money when you get further in the game. You could decorate it with stuff too maybe, maybe to be realistic Link might not be able to carry all of his weapons and items, you can stash some of them in there. And enemy stolen weapons too (Like WW).

*Using the Rev controler could be difficult to acheive, but it could be done. It should be an option though, you can choose to use the interactive Rev controler, or the shell for normal gameplay. There's no doubt that people are going to use the shell more often, but there can be some mini games that involve the interactive controler too.

*The graphics should be the best on the Revolution. I've heard that the Rev graphics arn't going to be so much supperior to the GC, but that could only be because the Revolution isn't even close to out yet, or maybe they could add a graphics card that you could put in the Rev so it could handle games with high graphic capibilities, because I want to play a Zelda adventure even casual gamers will say: "Damn! Look at those graphics! They blow Elder Scrolls away by far!" I"m not taking any bets, but then again the 360's graphics arn't that suppirior to the normal X-Box either.

*I'd like to have lots of stores, weapons, houses and more. I want there to be tons of accesable stores all with their own type of theme of items. In recent Zelda games there has only been like 2 or 3 accesable main swords including the master sword, there should be atleast 7 main swords not including the Master Sword. And you should be able to use which ever one you want when ever you want using the item/clothes customisation screen from OoT. There should be different tunics and chain mail too that you can buy, each with their own advantage. Maybe the gold mail could have maximum defence, but makes you a bit slowers and heavier so it's hard to swim in water. Maybe choosing no mail makes you faster and makes it easier to swim, but enemies can hurt you more.

*The difficulty should be ALOT harder than Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time and Minish Cap. Thsoe games were so easy it's not even funny, even if they were fun (And MM is still my favorite video game played). They should be harder, at least harder than WW, enemies should do more damage, and puzzles should be harder too. The enemies should come at you all at once, never holding back, but you should be able to retaliate them. The puzzles should also go over the limit of killing x amount of enemies in a room or pushing a blcok a certain direction coughwindewakercough.

*I'd like a full feel of adventure, Ocarina of Time, A Link to the Past and Minsh Cap did this well. I want to be climbing mountains, braving storms, crossing deserts, and more. And there should be plent of mountains, deserts and snowy places to go through as well, not just one. Alothough there should be only one main area of each, I'd like there to be more than just one for side quests and replay value.

*I'd like there to be lots of architecture in the game, like A Link to the Past. I want a medival feel to it, like Link to the Past. Link to the Past did that perfectly.

Great Ideas . I wish I could think as good as you, I especially like the idea of time, where people do different things. I think that for Revolution Zelda they should make Larger Towns.

those are some pretty big statements, but nintendo could probly pull it off. i especially liked the part about braving storms and stuff. I'd like to see that combined with a HUUUUUGE world. Perhaps even a small amount of sailing, but a small amount. I don't wanna see 49 little islands, i wanna see 3 or 4, maybe even 5 large continents seperated by maybe 15 seconds of sailing.

Re: Next gen Zelda and what it could have to make it revolutionary

Ok, it would seem that lots and lots of people want to up the difficulty of the Zelda series, but how about meeting half way? Say under there was an options page for each of the individual files on the main screen and the difficulty could be adjusted there. Difficulty could range from Novice (tWW) to Hero (Something akin to choas mode in Dynasty Warriors) The Zelda games have always been just the right difficulty for me, but then I'm not that great at video games. I agree that tWW was too easy, but OoT and MM were just right.

I like that the game could be interchageable with the shell or the normal controler for those who don't like the idea of the Revolution's new one. The only thing about that is that switching back and forth for some mini-games would be a pain. Again, this should probably be controled from a subscreen under the file name, ala switch vs hold Z-(or L) targeting in the previous 3-D zelda games.

About the different tunics having different defensive powers and whatnot, it sounds too much like the limitations of a traditional RPG like Final Fantasy. I've always liked that Link just got stronger health-wise as the player collected heart pieces/containers, not as the player equiped new armor or clothes that make the character stronger at the sacrifice of their apperance.

Ah, the feeling of being surrounded by multiple enemies at once. The pure power of striking them all down as they run towards you. If they kept the player combat system from tWW, I see this as a strong possiblilty. This would add the kind of epic, Link-against-the-whole-world feel that many have longed for in the Zelda series.

Whew, long post. Many points made. Many people angered, I fear. But to a truce, perhaps we may come.

Um....
No.

That's just not true. What they mean when they say "200 dungeons" is that there are over 200 doors randomly scattered around the overworld that all lead to random, crappy little caves made up of easily recognizeable and repeated modular components. I'd take 5 well-crafted Zelda dungeons over 400 Elder Scrolls ones any day.

Yay! Somebody else realizes that Elder Scrolls is not as great as it appears on the surface! Bigger does not always equal better!

Re: Next gen Zelda and what it could have to make it revolutionary

Well in the next Zelda series, I like to see an older link. A link with for example a beard or something. In that way you can see how experienced link is in his age. And like others said, I want to see a world map in the game, not just a map with hyrule on it. More different peoples in the game, more houses, more possibilities.
