New "Arrow"?

In TP they should have a new idea for the master sword like for the final blow he should fire the master sword from his bow.
not a bad idea isn't it?
and maybe poison arrows or tranquiliser arrows.
well these are i deas i thought up over the years of me being a gamer

Nah, I think they won't stray too far from the Fire, Ice and Light/Silver arrows. Poison or tranquilizer arrows are just... I don't know... Link never really knocks out an enemy, or kills them slowly. He just whacks 'em with his sword, and they go kapoof. Poison seems a bit low for him.

And unnecessary. I mean, most of the enemies don't stand a chance, even when they gang up on him. Why would he need poison?

And Solid Snake, I don't know where you got that idea, but it's impossible to fire a sword from a bow. First of all, there's no place to nock a sword, and second, the blade would probably split the string when you released. If somehow you did manage to nock a sword, then it would be far too heavy to go more than... say, three feet tops. It would end up being far more efficient if you just threw the sword at Ganon.

I agree. no one wants to use second best when they can use the very best. that's why you don't need poisen. also, there is no reason you'd need to use the sword as a projectile. the magic arrows are stronger than a single sword swing anyways.

Re: New "Arrow"?

No... I don't think that would be good. Like mentioned before, poison would be completely unnecessary, since a regular arrow should do the job anyway. And firing the Master Sword out of the bow? While very dramatic, it is very unrealistic, as mentioned above.

Although, it would be cool to be able to throw the sword. It wouldn't be necessary, but it'd be cool.

Re: New "Arrow"?

Throwing the sword would be neat (and impractical, because then you have to run up to the enemy and grab it or else you have no weapon), but shooting it with a bow? That's like shooting deku sticks with a slingshot.

As far as arrows go: we've seen both fire and ice arrows shot while riding the horse. I'd be willing to guess ice arrows and light arrows will make appearances, and maybe even some other types. Hey, if they're resurrecting bomb arrows (and we know they are) than why not others?

Stun arrows wouldn't be good, since it's like the same effect as freezing (ice arrows). Confusion arrows would be neat, but probably hard to pull, even with advanced AI. Grappling hook arrows=longshot.
Maybe protection arrows? You could shoot you're ally to protect them with magic, if you need that ally to complete a puzzle/quest and are under attack.

Re: New "Arrow"?

Even better than Fire Arrows, we could have Din's Fire Arrows! Whatever you shoot it at is engulfed in a huge kickass fireball that wipes out the entire room!

Then again, perhaps not. w00t on Shield Arrows, though.

Now thats a good idea. As long as the cut scene that accompanied Din's fire in OoT didn't happen. That would get annoying everytime you shoot an arrow.

Re: New "Arrow"?

Oh! Oooh! How 'bout, an arrow kinda like the confusion arrow, but instead of just confusing, it causes the enemy to attack it's "teammates" for a period of time. Then it'd revert back to kicking your butt.

What? When? Where? If that had been anywhere underneath the already miniscule pile of info we've been given, I'm sure I would have known about it. We've seen a "bomb arrow" of sorts, as well as unenchanted arrows, but that's it. Where did you see/hear about an ice arrow in TP?

Confusion arrows? God, no. An item that allows you to turn the enemies against each other? That would be very interesting. However, not in the form of a projectile weapon. None of that Cupid crap. But seriously, perhaps some sort of magic spell that allowed you to manipulate an enemy? Or perhaps even take control of them entirely, as though they were a playable character? Nah, they probably wouldn't take it that far. But turning the foes against each other sounds interesting.

Re: New "Arrow"?

I'm starting to wonder why total specualtion threads, ones without screen shots or observed parallels between previous games, are allowed to exist...

Essentially, it seems that 'tendo has let loose most of the new items to us. The ones that they haven't are probably not going to deviate from the norm to a large extent.

However, major revisions in items or new items are within the realm of possibitity, but that seems a wee-bit... hard to imagine at this stage...

Not considering that Aonuma said that there would be several items we've never seen before. New uses for old items has also been promised, so we have quite a bit to look forward to in that particular area. Selavi, Alehandro, there's nothing to worry about.

What happens if the enemy just happened to fly away; when you hit it, the sword (fired from the bow) would fly away with the enemy and you would be doomed!

Re: New "Arrow"?

I don't think that any new arrows would really be necacary, but bomb arrows would bekind of cool. Or to be evil-ish maybe a dark arrow that you can use to control your enemy for a short time and then they die. I know that would be a little out of game play BUT it could also add to differeant ways to slve puzzles, I don't know.

Re: New "Arrow"?

They must have the fire arrows, I love those, and the Ice and Light arrows are a must because thats Ganondorf's main weakness: light arrows. But when did any one see bomb arrows??? They could also add "evil arrows" that...wait that would heal the enemy probably...unless Link becomes a bad guy. And they could have "arrows of crushing" that can destroy walls and things that bombs can't. So good ideas? huh huh huh?
And some kind of arrow that allows you to steal stuff like with the grappling hook from WW you could steal rupees, bombs, souls. Yeah.

Stealing=pointless. We have the Hookshot for that.

Bomb arrows have been seen on 2 occasions as of now. I'm not going to check, just go see the trailers again.
