Tingle

Should Tingle be in the next Zelda? I know many people don't like him, although he is a very helpful character at times. Plus, if this game is going to be much darker than past Zelda games, it could probably use some comic relief here and there. What do you think?

Re: Tingle

I do love Tingle, but I'm not sure if he'd fit in in TP, judging from what I've seen from it.

Re: Tingle

Well, Midna doesn't look like she would exactly work in it either at first, although after you see her in action, she does do pretty well in it after all, despite her catoonish look. Plus, they could possibly mess around with Tingle's looks too, to make him a bit more realistic.

Re: Tingle

Tingle shouldn't be in TP. He'd ruin it. It's got wolves and twilight monsters and stuff. The last thing it needs is some gimp in a green body stocking prancing about and lobbing confetti. See what I mean?

Re: Tingle

Ummm...he would add comic relief, as I said before... Maybe he should just return in a Wind Waker sequel.

Re: Tingle

The only situation in which I want to see Tingle in TP is if he's killable. Or, better yet, if he gets mauled horribly by a Stalfos Wolfos. That'd be mint.

Re: Tingle

I doubt Nintendo would do that. From what I've heard, he's got quite a few fans over in Japan. Why do people hate Tingle so much anyway?

Re: Tingle

People hate Tingle because he's a freak. He's 35, and thinks he's a fairy. He wears a green body stocking. He blatantly rips you off for maps in MM and WW. He steals your Force Gems in FSA. I mean, seriously! In WW, the maps don't need decoding, and he still charges you... nearly 400 rupees for it! It's a bunch of friggin' lines! There's no writing to decipher!

Re: Tingle

Yeah, it would be great for Navi to return. I'm personally hoping that when Midna exits the Twilight Realm, she is revealed to be a fairy. I kind of missed having a fairy follow me around in Wind Waker. I hope Link does get a fairy in this one.

Re: Tingle

This tingle-hating that's becoming more and more popular is beyond fanboyism, it's just so mind-numbigly ridiculous.

Re: Tingle

I think Tingle should stay with Zelda games that are less mature. Adding Tingle would ruin the entire atmosphere that the developers hoped to achieve in Twilight Princess. If Nintendo did add Tingle I think it might hurt the sales a slight amount. The last thing most teenage boys want to see is some middle-aged man dressed up like a fairy in their Teen rated Zelda. Imagine the riots...

That wouldn't be a bad thing.

Tingle has had minor parts in some of the Zelda games. There isn't a true need for him in the games. Link could pay someone else to decipher maps, or could pop someone elses ballon. He is a minor character that isn't needed to have the full on Zelda gaming experience. In other words, toss the guy, he is just dead weight.

Re: Tingle

Actually the riots would only happen in America. People over in Japan like Tingle, why would Nintendo come out with that Tingle RPG if they didn't. Plus, didn't Tingle fit in pretty well on Majora's Mask, a realistic game? Finally, I do not think that Twilight Princess will recieve a Teen rating. Ocarina of Time recieved an E rating despite its more mature (violence) content, such as Ganondorf coughing up blood (I could have sworn some enemies let out a minimal amount of blood when struck. Anyway, it has been confirmed on Hyrule.net that Twilight Princess will recieve an E rating, although whether they are correct or not remains to be seen. Overall, Tingle has some interesting possibilities in this game (that don't have to take away the maturity of this game). Last I remember, Tingle was throwing bombs at enemies...that's a bit different than confetti.

Well maybe, I hope not, in Twilight Princess he will throw exploding confetti. Then everyone will be happy.

Re: Tingle

I think they decided against it, considering the evident hatred against Tingle outside of Japan. But he's not that bad of a character and I think people exaggerate that his presence would wreck the entire setting that we are going to see in Twilight Princess. I don't see a problem with it at all. Comic releifs can prove to be an annoyance in the midst of a masterpeice, but if handled properly, they only enchance the experience, from waht I can see. Tingle is an eccentric, interesting character-- it's becoming very irritable to me right now.

Out of place, a little bit, but still worked amazingly well. And from what I could see, it did not single handedly obliberate the fun out of Majora's Mask. The same applied for Wind Waker.
