I hope it doesn't fire beams. Then people would stop using the arrows, and eventually there'd be no purpose for them.
I think a dual-wield would be good in this situation.

I would like for the master sword in TP to have the same ability as the master sword in ALTTP with the quake, fire, and ice medallions. It could do a special cut scene everytime you initiate the attack.

How about a small selection of sharp weapons, keep in mind I said small selection.
Link could have 2 Kokiri Daggers, this would allow him to have fast bursts of attack, and take of little bits of health from the enemy each time. Problem is that he can not hold a shield while holding 2 daggers at once. There could be an axe from a woodsman (or woodswoman) which allows for large blows that almost kill with one swipe. It could also be used to defend and destroy boulders or cracked walls. The problem would be its weight that would slow Link down significantly. |

Or have the Sword Beam attack that was taken out of OoT...
But, the idea of the Sword beam attack from the 2D Zelda's in a 3D realm WOULD be rather nice, but you can only use it if you have full health and have the ability to, and it takes away magic.

I must, yet again, voice my disagreement. In 3-D Zelda games, the combat system has much more depth, and the ranged weapons are very effective. But imagine if this "beam" came along; who would use arrows anymore? I'd say that one attack overshadowing a dungeon item is BAD. No offense, of course.
Now, about my sword ideas. Master Sword: Typical, same as always. Does more damage than regular sword. Cross Swords: Two swords. Spin attack has longer range, combos last longer. Not as powerful as Master Sword, artificial shielding only blocks vertical strikes. Armos Sword: The new "Biggoron's Sword". Same setbacks. Until you get it enforged by a master, it'll break after 100 hits.

i dunno bout that, i'm not keen on switching a sword every other minute cuz a new type of baddie pops out o the ground. that's getting too RPG-like. i do however think there should be a few upgrades to the main weapon, as well as one or two side quest swords w/ different abilities... for example, big sword=strong as heck, but slower and you have to use two hands, and then perhaps a long and thin sword (think zorro) for quick but weaker attacks
