Revolution Zelda: First Person?
Here is a small excerpt from a recent IGN article. This was a statement made by Reggie Fils-Aime.
"So imagine what a Zelda game might look like with sword and shield that you can use all at the same time." Could this be confirmation that next-gen Zelda will have a first person perspective? I think it might be cool if the camera smoothly zooms in from third to first person for enemy encounters. Here is the full article. |

Re: Revolution Zelda: First Person?
I don't see how that confirms it's going to be in first-person...

Re: Revolution Zelda: First Person?
i agree in theory that the idea of having a zelda game where you can swish the sword around as you please is a good one, but i don't think that it would have to be from a first person perspective. infact i dont really think that a zelda game would work in first person. how do you ride a horse whilst looking around for enemies? it would majorly cut down your view of the surroundings and the excitement of the action around you. it would be just as easy for it to remain in third person and just have link copying your movements with the sword etc.

Re: Revolution Zelda: First Person?
Zelda + First-Person Perspective = Wierd, because the third-person thing is sortof what makes Zelda what it is. Maybe for a fan-game, but not for a console game.

Zelda+First Person=(in the words of Darth Vader) NNOOOOOOOO!
Besides, Reggie Fils-Aime is also the person who said, and I quote: "We need a Mario that today's teens can relate to."

Re: Revolution Zelda: First Person?
Imagine morrowing, you know you can do things in the first person, yeah well, that didn't exactly work out the way the developers planned it out.
The game can very well still be in the 3rd person perspective, just imagine the controller controlling link's arm. So that means!................ (come on class) Imagine using the grappling hook, you must spin the controller around a bit to build up momentum, there could be a little meter, the more you swing, the farther the hook goes. The hookshot can hook onto statues and switches like in tWW, but now you must pull back the controller to pull the statues down. To ride epona, you must cock the controller to simulate the whipping of the reins, or your spurred feet.

Re: Revolution Zelda: First Person?
Imagine swinging your arm for the grappling hook, and then letting go of the controller, and watching it break into many small pieces.
That doesn't sound like much fun to me. I think that many people would get a bit to into it, and end up breaking their controller, and a couple of other things as well. |

Re: Revolution Zelda: First Person?
Use Controller to control sword...Use Nunchuck to control the shield?
