Could this be the MOST emotional Zelda yet?

A few days ago I sat down and Started to watch a Zelda fan trailer, which can be found here...
Fan Trailers for Twilight Princess
Maybe its the music of the trailer, but as it gets to the town scene, and the part were Iila and Link look at each other and smile, you see how peaceful link really was. Then you see massive boar crash through, and it cuts to a scene of Link in the forest temple, and it flashes from scene to scene of him fighting bad guys. This shows how links life is completely changed, and how he goes from a peaceful guy, to a hero.
In every zelda game, I suppose link life is changed, but maybe just with the amazing graphics and personalitie, this really seems like a believeable story. Think for a second, of your life being completely uprooted, and you going to save a really good friend. Can you imagine leaving your town, or village or whatever, and going out to save a friend? Maybe im just stupid, but it seems like this could be the emotional Zelda yet. Thoughts? Or do you think there was another more emotional Zelda?

Re: Could this be the MOST emotional Zelda yet?

All Zelda's up until WW contained little emotion. OOS/OOA was probably the first Zelda game I felt contained any real emotion. It is very likely that TP will be very emotional, look how far the series has come since OOT, it's constantly evolving and getting better, obviously WW wasn't perfect but some parts were made better since OOT.

TP is gonna be a shocker, of that there is no doubt. I get chills when I see Trailers paired with Ochestral music, for me TP look's really LotR (which happens to be a really emotional stroy as well). With the new graphical engine and the power of the Gamecube, Nintendo will be able to create visuals that will undoubtebly surpass OOT so they should be able to show expressions more easily than the WW.

Link's Awakening currently holds that position, in my mind. It will take quite the game to topple it, and I don't believe TP will be able to do it.

LA's emotions are more subtle, deeper and more meaningful then what is offered in any other Zelda game, in my experience. It has the bittersweet thing down pat, which is a very hard thing for a game to implement well.

Re: Could this be the MOST emotional Zelda yet?

I agree. Link's Awakening is definitely the most emotional Zelda game I've played. Why?

Your quest is to rid Koholint Island of evil by waking the Wind Fish. However, you find out about midway through the game that Koholint Island just might be a mere dream of the Wind Fish. Therefore, if you succeed in your quest, chances are you'll end up destroying the land because it is a dream. When the Wind Fish wakes...Koholint Island disappears. Also, the relationship between Link and Marin in Link's Awakening is the closest the Zelda series has ever come to a romance. The two have many conversations (although we never know exactly what Link says) that are increasingly deep as the game progresses. I'm willing to argue that Marin (with the possible exception of Ganondorf/Ganon) is the most developed character in the series.

It really is a beautiful story; by far the deepest in the series. OoT is still my favorite Zelda game, but Link's Awakening has one of the best (and definitely most unique) tales in the franchise.

Re: Could this be the MOST emotional Zelda yet?

Another thing that i found very emotionfull was the ending in the WW. How Ganondorf misses his land, after all his hard work to get his home back The King of hyrule suddenly destroys his dreams, it seems that for one moment he understands how much bad things he had done, but then his feelings turns to hatred to his imprisoners and attack you. Also when the King says farewell is touching.

Re: Could this be the MOST emotional Zelda yet?

There needed to be a "no way to tell yet" option, because that's probably the most ideal option right now

Also, there's a pretty big difference between emotional and epic, and the trailers display it as epic
But i'm sure it will be a very emotional game. I think games are best when the developers know how to toy with the players emotions.
Spoiler (Highlight to read):
Hopefully, LInk will build some sort of obvious bond with Ilia before she is kidnapped

Re: Could this be the MOST emotional Zelda yet?

God the video was good. I think it will be the most emotinal. Becuase in WW the graphics were a bit like a cartoon to feel any emotion and in OoT the diffrence from going to normal life to hero wasnt long as you only got the sword and you were of to the deku tree.

I have no bothered to play MM for some reason but I want to. I dont know how emotional it was.

Put spoiler warnings. I don't want to start striking people for something like that, but if everyone keeps it up, I'll have to start doing it again.

Yes, i hoope ilia andf link make a bond, because if it was just. "Link you hurt his foot!" and "Link, come back safely" that would be very lame. Sprry for not adding a few more options to the poll...

Re: Could this be the MOST emotional Zelda yet?

Heh, I see you saw my Fan trailer. (wow that was wierd-see you saw...hee hee...)

Glad you liked it, I was really going for pushing the emotions into the trailer rather then just plainly displaying the game footage, kind of like when I made the scene with Link and Epona rearing up at the same time the music swelled.

Yeah, I do think that this new Zelda Game's going to have a lot more emotions in it, that's pretty much a given. Have you ever heard of "Emotioneering"? It's this new concept that's recently being put into more games where the game is able to really grab the player by the guts and never let go until the credits finally roll. I wouldn't be suprised if they incoporated Emotioneering into this Zelda game. You know, speaking of emotions, Mr. Aonuma hinted recently in an interview that Link may finally begin developing relationships with a female character. (As a ZeLinker I think it's going to be Zelda.)
