Zelda game with these graphics?

What would you think of using the official art in the LTTP manual as graphics for a new Zelda game?

Example:

Mountain Tower

I think that would be a neat style. It looks much more convincing than WW's cartoon style because the physics actually make sense.

Re: Zelda game with these graphics?

I don`t think so, they look sort of cartoony. I think the TP graphics are the way to go.

Well yeah I agree, TP's graphics would be better, but if Nintendo chose to do a new style like they did with WW I think they should try something like this.

Re: Zelda game with these graphics?

I actualy like that idea, I really do.

I mean, it's like WW graphics only more serious. The cel-shading is what made WW look good as it gave it a nice look like a painting. Giving TP a look like that would make TP more like an exciting anime of sorts. However, TP is going with the graphics it has right now, but thats a good idea nonetheless.

Well, as we all know, Nox, Zelda is not supposed to be anime.

To avoid rabid fans, I'd stick with the TP style. It's the style most people agree on.

...what the hell?

Nowhere did I say in my post, 'Zelda is an anime, so that idea of yours is awsome'. I clearly said it would look (notice that word, 'look') like an exciting anime. So please, don't say such stupid assumptions again.

Re: Zelda game with these graphics?

You know, graphics like the LTTP guide (which, in my opinion, isn't too anime-ish, since it has it's own sort of unique flavor to it) would actually be pretty interesting. Sounds like an upgraded version of WW.

And it's kind of refreshing, the idea, that is. I mean, you see all these new games here and there and almost all of them are drawing to realism. It is, to say the least, very nice and accomplishing for the company... but following the crowd really takes away from the uniqueness of games. Wind Waker stood out from the crowd, being so different...

If there ever was a game, that looked like the LTTP guide, I'd like it to be made in a translucent formatting that's easy to comprehend and easy to use... something like the new Dragon Quest (or I think it was called Dragon Warrior in the US). Neat idea.

Hmm... could work... it's too late for them to change it or anything but it is nice. I like the look. As long as they don't make it look like the Phillips's games. *Shivers in revoltion* I loved the look of WW and I love the look of TP too. They do seem to be on a trend of doing crazy things we don't expect so you never know.

Re: Zelda game with these graphics?

I have been saying since the Wind Waker cel-shading was first revealed way back in 2001 that I want a cel-shaded game in the style of LttP/LA's art.

Re: Zelda game with these graphics?

A Zelda with storybook-type graphics would be very neat.

That's an idea I'd be interested in.

Re: Zelda game with these graphics?

Well, now that I consider it, a Zelda with storybook graphics could possibly resemble the CDi games. That would be scary.

I'd actually perfer if TP has that cel-shaded affect with realistic detail. I would like to see a game with this style. Maybe Zelda DS....

Re: Zelda game with these graphics?

I think it would be a good idea, even though it would look like it's a game who's graphics are stuck in the 80's cartoon style. But I wouldn't mind playing a game with graphics like that. Of course, I can only imagine the complaints if they made a Zelda game with those graphics after TP, all the fan boys complaining 'omg they r going backwards i hate zleda im never goning to play it agin.'

Re: Zelda game with these graphics?

I'm sure we'll have a game like that soon, for the revolution perhaps. A mature Cel shaded Zelda is somthing I've wanted even before tWW. Somthing like looks exactly like animation, but is 3D, somthing that is hard to acheive, but when done right, will have fans and non fans alike soiling their diapers.

Re: Zelda game with these graphics?

I think they've past the stage of using cartoony style graphics in zelda, the time for your idea would have been best suited in wind waker now people just want to see the twilight princess style and graphics.

Re: Zelda game with these graphics?

That would be a great idea, I'd take a Zelda game with those graphics over a Zelda game with Twilight Princess graphics. If any system can pull of those graphics in real time I would be very impressed.

Well, as we all know MajorasMask666, Zelda is Japanese and the artwork has strong anime features.
