Twilight Princess on the Revolution...?

I myself am thinking TP will be put out on the REV.

Though Nintendo is claiming the delays will still allow to to be released on the Cube, I think otherwise.

Re: Twilight Princess on the Revolution...?

No.
No way, that won't happen.

* You can elready pre-order TP for GC
* It's been stated about 5665926578541658963 by Nintendo that it will be for the GC
* It's being developed for the GC.
* Nintendo already announced yhat they are working on a Zelda for the Revolution, so why would they go and convert TP?

Re: Twilight Princess on the Revolution...?

Though I doubt that Twilight Princess will feature on the Revolution, there is no doubt that it would be a brilliant launch title for the new console, and definately draw lots of attention to it.
When I first read that the Twilight Princess was to be put further back for it's release, I originally thought that maybe the creators were going to 'touch up the graphics' to make them much more impressive in the new Revolution standard, remembering the demo about Metoid Prime 3 being run on Gamecube software, merely to publicise the game.

If I am honest, I would love it if this was the same case, that the Cube footage is a mere Demo for the Revolution game, but the game seem so 'completed' with playable demos and videos, etc, that I doubt it will come out for Revolution

Re: Twilight Princess on the Revolution...?

Your link does not work, this does:

http://www.nintendox.net/index.php?ht=zeldaonrev.htm

There is no way Twilight Princess is going on Rev.... Its just impossible. Nintendo would be hanging themselfs if they do that. They have said to us it WILL be on the Gamecube and it will.... But there may be a option on the disc if you put it into the Rev it will run a heck of alot better than it would with the Gamecube... like two different overall settings.

So no, I totally disagree with that it will be on the Gamecube.

Re: Twilight Princess on the Revolution...?

u have been being able to pre-order it for a while, true.... but Nintendo can do what they want with the game.... also Nintendo's track record has not been that good before... they have been decieving and have "lied" on many an occassion..

TP would be perfect to get them a good start on the REV

They were about to Mass produce it for the GameCube before they delayed it. Now why change all the controls, everything to make it work for the Rev

Saying that the Rev has backwards compatibility.

Re: Twilight Princess on the Revolution...?

At this point, the smartest thing for Nintendo to do would be to release it as a launch title for the Rev.
I doubt that that's going to happen though...I for one would prefer it for the Rev. If we have to wait until April (at least) anyway, the Big N might as well Revolutionise it. (see what I did there?)

Re: Twilight Princess on the Revolution...?

The Revolution is backwards compatible with GCN, so I don't see any point in preventing GCN owners from playing it. Sure, it would have more polish on the Rev, but it seems fine the way it is on GCN.
Besides, it's been confirmed to be on GCN since the delay.

With Twilight Princess being pushed in 2006, some Nintendo fans are wondering if the game might ultimately be killed for GameCube and instead repositioned as a launch title for Revolution, the Big N's next-generation platform. Revolution is set to launch sometime in the second half of 2006, according to sources. According to Kaplan, though, the game is still scheduled to ship for GameCube.

"In effect, because of the backward compatibility built into Revolution, every GameCube game also will be a Revolution title," she said. "But we feel a commitment to the GameCube owners who've been patiently awaiting this new Zelda title, and don't want to force them to wait and buy a brand new system in order to play the game."

Kaplan dismissed the notion that the delay of Zelda would put Nintendo in a tricky situation as GameCube owners decide whether or not to stick with the system or purchase Microsoft's new console this November.

"I think we are talking two different things here," she said. "Those who love Zelda will be thrilled when it arrives, and we believe will still want to purchase it even though the wait might have been a disappointment."

The Nintendo spokesperson also had a message for GameCube owners deflated by this latest delay. "Our message is that we understand what a disappointment this is solely because we know people are eager to play Zelda," she said. "The philosophy of 'quality-first' still lives within Nintendo and it's something we won't compromise on. When Zelda game arrives, we hope to hear that players are thrilled with it and believe the wait was worth it. We think it will be."

HAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHA...

I wouldn't be surprised if they delayed it so much, that they in fact, decided it would go better on the Revolution...

... But that's just a joke.

It really doesn't matter to me, I was planning on buying a Revolution and playing TP in its GCN slot.

Re: Twilight Princess on the Revolution...?

They've been making it for the Gamecube for a long time now. Converting all that data to the Revo would take to long, and cause another delay. So no. The TP is for GC, and none other. Thank you for calling.

Well it matters alot to people like me who brought a Gamecube just to play Zelda... I didn't buy a Gamecube JUST to play WW I also had Zelda 05 aka TP in that idea too.

I'd be pretty unhappy if Nintendo did so.

True, I'd be pissed at Nintendo if they converted it on to the Rev. after I bought a GCN just for Twilight Princess.

Re: Twilight Princess on the Revolution...?

Trying to get TP onto the Rev platform instead of the Cube at this stage would be making the developers start over at square one. Either that or they could make a port. And making a port would be kind of stupid considering that the Rev is going to be able to play Cube games anyway.

So if you wanted TP to be Revolution-only, you'd be talking about ANOTHER 6-12 months of delays. Do you REALLY want that?

In addition, they've already produced the GameCube pakaging for it. I feel like I've said this 34723984729347237407234072304787946513018468468494 601305168494 times. Go into a GameStop sometime and you'll see it hanging on the wall as a pre-order incentive. Trust me, it's definitely going to be on the GCN. -.-"

Re: Twilight Princess on the Revolution...?

If Twilight Princess truly is a counterpart to The Wind Waker, it makes no sense to release it on a different console.

Re: Twilight Princess on the Revolution...?

What makes a lot of more no sense (other than that statement) is porting it to the Rev. when everything is done for the GCN and just in the last stages of development.

Game stores typically use fake box are. In fact, most prefer it when they can get away with it; nobody'll confuse them for the real games once they're actually released. Either way, I think box art would be the least of their worries.

Two scenarios:

1. Nintendo's delaying the game to get it finished for the Gamecube. Is released close to when the Revolution's released. Acts as a good bridging title, especially if Nintendo offers system-specific perks.

2. Nintendo is lying to us. The game is essentially finished but they're taking extra time to make it Revolution-ready. In the process they're also abandoning their 20+ million current Gamecube owners to push a console for which they have a lower profit margin on and - if history is any judge - may face a shortage of during launch month.

I'd like to go with scenario 1.
