Voice Acting?

Hm...If anyone else already posted this I'm sorry. I'm just too impatient to skim through like 5 pages of new posts.

Anyway, I've heard from several people that there's going to be voice acting the Twilight Princess. Is this true?
I've heard that Ganondorf's voice is by Takashi Nagasako (He did ganondorf's laughs in the other games as well as Cervantes from SCII!!!!!)
and Link's voice is by Nobuyuki Hiyama.

But I'm wondering...does this mean it will be just actual voice acting or just sound effects like in OOT, MM, and WW?
Hm...
Heh, I'd like to see Link talking in real fast Japanese...

Re: Voice Acting?

I read something about TP on Nintendo.com, it was an interview with Miyamoto and someone else. I don't know who the other person is beacause Miyamoto is the only one I really care about, but one of them-when asked that same question-said that they they wanted to keep Link's talking to a minimum (and then joked that they should do Links voice, if they knew english). I'm not sure what they mean by minimum, but it's probably just grunts and howls. Link won't talk. I will wager on that. But other characters might. We'll have to see.

Re: Voice Acting?

No I doubt it. Maybe some more emotions and grunts and screams, and things but not voice acting. Think they willl have to re-talk the game to make it for diffrent languages. Its alot easyier to just change the writing on the screen to a diffrent language rather than do another voice again and again.

Also when link is talkin to people they will either have to make every single character have their own voice or just have Link talk at certain parts to certain people that would be daft and odd.

It's not impossible though. Look at KOTOR, that had a ton of voice acting. In different languages too I think. The main charachter didn't talk.
But I agree with Niyko. Probably no or little voice acting. Not that it's impossible, it's just not Zelda.

Re: Voice Acting?

Hmm...it would be kinda strange, because we all have a image of what Link, Zelda or Ganandorf really sound like. And if there was voice acting to hear some old man for Link or somthing, our thoughts would be ripped apart. *sigh* i hope there isn't any

P.S screams and grunts is alright but...

Re: Voice Acting?

Nobuyuki Hiyama has always done Link's voice. But it isn't real voice acting, just his screams and moans. I think it will be that way in TP. Well, I hope so. Voice acting would damage your personal thoughts of the characters in the Zelda games. That would be a pity... Well, it would suck.

Re: Voice Acting?

I saw a demo when the characters were in the
Spoiler (Highlight to read):
farm at the beginning
and they were all talking like they do in any other Zelda game; in windows at the bottom of the screen.

Re: Voice Acting?

Zelda would NOT feel the same with voice acting, it would feel like a "Fable" kind of game. Zelda does not belong with voice acting, and never will do.

Re: Voice Acting?

Down with the Voice Acting, it just would'nt suit any Zelda game, I'm quite happy with grunts and text.

LMAO!!!!
Rumors like this ALWAYS pop up when a game is getting loads of hype, I remember before GTA:SA was realeased people were saying you could play as Nelly .
I think Nintendo knows it wouldn't feel the same if they had voices and I dont think they will never give voices to zelda because nearly all the games with voice acting in sounds cheesey and feels like you controlling the guy on screen, and nintendo prefer that you feel that YOU are in the game.
Some games are awsome with voice acting (Conkers bad fur day)
But zelda isn't one of em
Zelda + voices = some thing like the zelda cartoon *sHiVeRs*

Re: Voice Acting?

I heard that there was going to be no voice acting. None of the other zelda games has voice acting, so why should TP? Keep with the tradition! It's better that way.

Actually, the CD-i games had voice acting. And it turned out horrible. I really hope they have enough sense not to.

Re: Voice Acting?

Yeah.... voice acting is a bad idea. It would probably be kinda cheesy, too, because Zelda games tend to be very dramatic. Reading the text and forming the voice in your head is much better. Besides... it's gotten to a point where ppl (well, me at least) would find it almost eerie to hear Link talk...

Re: Voice Acting?

Why would anyone think of having link with voice acting? Link seems more mysterious yet heroec look and I think every zelda fan(encluding me) has goten use to the old silent link does an one agree.

Re: Voice Acting?

I hope they are recording new voice tracks for Link. From what I can tell, they've just used the Link audio from OoT for Link thus far. I don't mind having the same guy record the voice, but get some new tracks.
