Dissapointing things about Twilight Princess
Well with the upcoming game Twilight Princess I have heard nothing but good things about it. I was wondering if anybody had any complaints about it, even though the game has not come out yet... if you do just post what and why. Right now I can only think of one for myself
Midna- I dont like the idea of Midna. I dont know why but she(or is it a he?) just doesnt seem right to me and the whole idea of her(or he : P) riding on link when he is a wolf just bugs me.... |

And one thing I don't like: Not knowing how long after OoT it is. It might be just 20 years, and people are saying OoT characters might be in it. And that just pisses me off . I mean, 30-40 year old Zelda? 2 Links? No, that would suck. I hope it is more like 90 years later, so we don't see any faces from OoT.

Re: Dissapointing things about Twilight Princess
I don't care about Midna, but I do think she will play an important rolein the game. i don't like the whole wolf idea, but at lease he didn't turn into the bunny in ALTTP.

Re: Dissapointing things about Twilight Princess
This is a good thread. Let's get a reality check before we become too hyped.
First of all, read this thread. http://forums.advancedmn.com/showthread.php?t=11029 Okay, so I realize that he is just a random user on a random message board, but he sounds smart, and I'd guess that he's making some valid complaints. From what I've heard, the main problems of the game are the small things. The things that take time to polish, but are very important to the overall game, especially a game of this calibur. Things like: -Link's running animation being too stiff -Blurry textures -Poor textures -Framerate issues Nintendo has made this game relatively fast (started when WW was finished), and while it runs on the same engine, the engine has gone through some major modifications and enhancements. I really don't want them to delay it, but if it is necessary, they may have to. OoT was delayed for over a year, and look how that turned out. These things should, and hopefully will be fixed before release, but they are a cause for concern. If Nitnendo's heart isn't behind the project, we'll have another WW on our hands. There is the possiblity that Nintendo is just giving people what they want, and not want they want us to want. If that's the case, there is a huge possibility of disappointment. Then there's always the possibilty that the Wolf concept will play a dominating role in the game, and not live up to the standards of traditional Zelda gameplay. The Twilight Realm/Wolf concept is my biggest worry of all at this point. |

Re: Dissapointing things about Twilight Princess
I agree with everything Sheik 84 and the guy he referred to said (except framerate issues and stiff running animation, I guess(?)), but they have a very legitimate reason to NOT delay it- any later, an it will be even more overshadowed by the launch of the 360, unless that is delayed (I hope it is kinda). I agree completely with the fact that some environmental textures are blurry or strange looking. It game me the graphical impression of Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. The textures look alright from afar, but different close up. Let's hope those things are ironed out in the final version. After all, Halo had a demo that was buggy and poor as hell, but it turned out to be TEH BEST GAME EVA. Right... see, no reason to worry!

Re: Dissapointing things about Twilight Princess
Well so far Im pretty impressed at Twilight Princess... I think its living up to its name and orgin. It is suppose to be a better game than OoT and I think it will be.
I mean it carries the same elements from alot of other Zelda games all rolled into one but giving it that new feeling. I was a bit disappointed when I saw Link turn into a Wolf... I was like O_0 But after finding out the reason it all makes perfect sense...And with that lastest Interivew not everyone turns in Animals which makes it even more confusing but still a nice touch. But its nice to know Link won't be a Wolf through the whole game which is awesome. So far everything on this game is looking pretty good: Graphics = 10 StoryLine = 9 (Its shaping up pretty nicely so far) Gameplay = 8 (It carries the kind of tWW gameplay and OoT mixed into one, And the Links movments are suppose to get better as well) Sound = 10 Im really happy so far.... But everything can change when we get the game.

Re: Dissapointing things about Twilight Princess
You guys didn't like the wolf thing? I was doing a school report when I first saw it, and I nearly peed my pants over my friend Patrick, whi said "That game looks pretty cool... sweet" and then simultaneuously converted two Nintendo haters standing behind him. Yeah. The power of 98 percentile average GIRLS IGNORING SCHOOLWORK

Re: Dissapointing things about Twilight Princess
Another dissapointing thing: The flooding of Hyrule. I don't think this will happen, but because of tWW, this is a big question. Will Link lose? I hope not. Not this game.

Re: Dissapointing things about Twilight Princess
I like everything so far except for the way Link moves. When he runs... it looks kind of stupid. I also noticed that the Forest Temple looked kinda dull in my opinion. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but like Shiek 84 said, the game has only been in development since the finish of Wind Waker which is not a lot of time. A good game takes time and I am afraid that TP will suffer...

Re: Dissapointing things about Twilight Princess
I read somewhere that Miyamoto has already commented with dislike about Link's movement. He said that he looks like a puppet. If Shiggy wants it redone, it will be redone.
I'm not really too nervous about the final product--I know it will be amazing. They are dedicated to outdoing OoT this time around, and I have no doubt that they will. These people designing the game are amazing, and I'm sure everything will be ironed out. The one thing that did bug me during the demo was that Link's hat kept going through his shield. Again, I have no doubt that it will be fixed.

Re: Dissapointing things about Twilight Princess
No way it will be terrible. This game has far too much talent, budget, and reputation around it for it to turn out terrible.
It will be a surefire hit. The question is, will it be a hit in a Super Mario Sunshine sort of way, or an OoT sort of way. |

Re: Dissapointing things about Twilight Princess
Right now all I worry slightly is how much we'll see of this 'wolf-link'. I hope it's not a lot, because over-doing it could have some very nasty results... But, I'm not gonna be concerned too much, I trust Nintendo will make it close to flawless. I honestly would like to see the flooding. I truly think that if they had some heart-wrenching, or simply very emotional dialogue and scenes with Link, Zelda, Ganon, and other characters before it finally all comes down, that it could be the greatest ending in Zelda history, easy. I would honestly be estatic if that was the ending, because it would be the perfect way to finish it off, completely ending an awesome epic adventure. This is why I'm so excited for Twilight Princess, because all the history thats in Windwaker about the time |
