Did anyone notice this?

I just stumbled upon this a few minutes ago. Looking through those new TP screenshots, I noticed something about that lantern that Link was holding. Here is a picture:


Dosent that lantern look exactly like the one that Jalhalla, the boss of the Earth Temple, or any WW Poe for that matter, held? Could Link have to obtain it from a giant Boo, (whoops, wrong game) er, Poe, or is that jut some evidence of how TP borrows from Wind Waker?

It's just a small little easter egg paying homage to tWW.

Link actually aquires the lantern in his own home in taoru very early on in the game, I saw it in the E3 demo

Wow, the graphics are so detailed. That picture is awesome. I cannot wait to play it.

Vacumgod is right though. You get the lamp from your house. Which I think is sort of cool. It would only make sense that Link atleast owns a lamp.

Hmm, yes the lantern does look similar to that which Jalhalla holds in Wind Waker. Perhaps it is there as a memento to Wind Waker. The picture does look amazing though.

Why can't he just use a battery operated tourch o0, hahahaha just joking but it looks cool.

The Lantern also looks like the thing at the end of Jabu-Jabu's antenna-thing, to be honest. You know, the one that he holds Nayru's Pearl in?

The graphics aren't really that amazing... But it is very impressive for the Gamecube =P

That is a very nice find there... Nintendo love to reuse stuff from old games... and give them new life in the new games.

You just had to add for GC, didn't you? Gamecube is clearly stronger than PS2, and almost capable of anything on Xbox. You can try to act all mature like these graphics "are merely average", but you're wrong. I admit there are some rough areas, but by and large they're great, and you know it.

The graphics are amazing comparing to the ones from The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time.

Yea this is goin to be voted the best graphics in the award show for games i think. If not the game of the year.

That's very interesting. I had noticed the lanturn, of course, but I didn't see the resemblances until they were pointed out.

It is similar to Jabun's Lanturn and the Earth Temple Boss's Lanturn. Thanks for pointing that out.

Man, our generation is spoiled.

As for the lantern, I like how it has those TWW swirls on the corners. I love the style for Twilight Princess, how it's sort of remniscent of all the previous 3D Zeldas yet is still unique.
The game is going to be beautiful. Every time I see rays of sunlight poking through clouds now I think, "Wow, that's just like that horse battle in Hyrule Field," and then I get that music in my head and I think of how I'll be able to play that battle in a few months. I can't wait for TP.

Reminds me of A Link to the Past as it follows the byline of the scenario(Link obtains the lamp from a chest in his house, I beleive)). Hell, could be a little homage to it much as the design is to Wind Waker.

In a way, the lantern looks similer to Midna...at least, the little swirly things near the top of it do. Who knows, maybe Midna is a lantern in the normal world.

It also looks like what Jabun, the giant fish, has! In WW, when you go into the cave behind Outset!

Yes I did notice this, but its nothing special. Its just a lantern, so? And that theory about Midna being the lantern is just stupid. Sorry for being 'angry' but Im tired... Geez, its over 3 AM here. I really gotta sleep...
