Could someone PLEASE clear this up for me?

I've been reading around the forum, and people are saying Twilight Princess is set a few decades after Ocarina of Time. Then someone else said no there was a mis-translation in that interview, and it's actually set AFTER Wind Waker, then someone else said no that's a mis-translated mis-translation, leaving me very confused.

My question is, do we officially know for sure where TP is placed? Or is it all conjecture, hearsay and mistranslated articles now?

no we do not know for sure but i'm pretty sure more that 3 quarter of the ZU fanbase thinks its a few decades after Oot. If i'm wrong please forgive me but i'm pretty sure it is after Oot

yes I was also confused, but the EGM interview with Aonuma cleared that up. He was sorry for messing that up.

Now, I was quite sure that this game does happen after the WW and that the whole "before OoT" thingy was actualy the mistake. Could you link or quote the part of the corrected interview that says that TP is actually set decades after Oot, please?

That is exactly what I was thinking about.. I always had the idea this would take part after the WW instead of before it.

I am pretty sure its def before tWW.... I think Nintendo are currently stuck on what Zelda game will take after tWW... if it ever does.

In the July issue of nintendo official magazine they asked Aonuma 5 questions about TP, 1 of these questions was, 'Where does Twilight Princess fit in the chronology of the zelda series?' And Aonuma answered, 'It takes place a few decades after Wind Waker.' So the creator of the game said it himself, TP takes place after WW.

How could it? In WW there is an Ocean on Hyrule. This is hundreads of years after Link left Hyrule. Link is now dead. I was reading an article on the internet showing a game demo of TP. Link was going to Hyrule for his town he currently lived in. If any of the parts about the TP is wrong, it's not my fault. I got this from a trailer.

well, in the EGM interview in my sig, Aonuma answered that it takes place a few decades after Oot.

I guess everyone just have to accept that we just don't know.

Gamespy messed up the interview and said it was after TWW, though every other source I know of said it was between OoT and TWW. But I guess a lot of people wanted to believe it was after TWW, so that rumor got spread around quickly and general confusion resulted. In the new issue of EGM, Mr. Aonuma says again that it is between OoT and TWW and talks about the possibility of some OoT characters being alive during TP, so that should settle the matter.
