Some info [slightly] confirmed.

Well, EGM had another interview with Eiji Aonuma during E3. the first thing that I'd like to say is "sorry". I've been telling people that TP is based after WW, and that is not true. It is based a few decades after OoT. In fact, they are so close that some of the characters from the N64 hit are still alive. Aonuma hinted that some familiar gorons, hylians, and possibly zoras will be in the new game.

Midna, the cat-like character we've been seeing on Link's back in his twilight form (the wolf), starts out with some simple attacks, but can be upgraded as the game goes along.

Many of you have been talking about Zelda fighting in TP. This talk has risen from the artwork that featured her in some light armor with a sword. I give you a qoute by Aonuma from the interview:

"...perhaps when [Zelda] sees what Link's been doing she will think that, by co-operating with him, there's a chance that she could save Hyrule. So the natural progression would be to think that they'll [work together] in some way"

If that's not what we've been looking for, I don't know what is.

And, of course, Link's interaction with animals. In the early trailers, we see Link with some cats and dogs, his horse, a hawk, and many others. We then found out that Link is a werewolf of sorts. This game has an obvious link (no pun intended) to nature. Aonuma hinted that, while a wolf, Link can comunicate with different animals, including his horse.

There was also some unclear Zelda DS information. Aonuma stated that the game will not control like most Zelda games. So, instead of pushing a certain button to have Link swing his sword, you'll swipe at the screen, and he'll swing in that direction. This definetly (sp) seems cool in it's own way, but many fans may not like the new battle format, and opt for the game's console brethren, instead. We'll just have to see.

Oh, and some item info from TP. We have the return of the lantern. Aonuma has made night so dark, that without a lantern, it will be impossible to navigate outside. This should make battle interesting...

Re: Some info [slightly] confirmed.

It's not that I hate OoT but... I really don't want to see a complete rehash of it in TP. I mean, if TP is set a few decades after OoT, then wouldn't that mean the world map would be pretty much the same layout? Wouldn't all the temples be the same and be in the same places? Somehow this just gives me a bad feeling...

But it's only a feeling. TP will still probably rule. I'd just rather see new stuff instead of improved old.

I belive that everywhere, no matter where. everything changes, that may be bad that the story is some decades later but everything will change, may the temples will be hidden wich for me sounds interesting

I really hope Zoras are in the new TP, because they are just an amazing race with awesome physical features. I really enjoyed playing as Zora Link in MM. Just amazing.

YES! Finally a confirmation. Returning characters = awesome. The question now is: Which end of OOT will this game go after, young Link's Hyrule or Adult Link's Hyrule?

Sounds good. I was a bit sceptic of them turning Zelda into some cliche'd warrior princess, but after reading this, I think they'll do the character justice.

I thought they might do it like that. I just hope they make it into a full fledged Zelda game(2D please) and that they don't have something called the Stylus Sword in the game :b

That sounds extremely limiting. Actually, that sounds like going out in the dark will be a pain in the ass. Still, it opens up a lot of chances for a good old fashioned scare.

Sounds all cool to me, except the fighting part. Maybe I just don't really get it.

Nintendo is not that stupid, Its going to be a better game than OoT in everyway. Remember the Twilight is taking over Hyrule. Meaning it could change the landcsape

How could it change the landscape? And anyway I don't think it is that close to Oot or even close at all. How could it be like that if Tp takes place in a brand new Hyrule. Not only can you tell by watching the trailors, but it has been said by Aonuma that it takes place in a brand new Hyrule aswell. So I doubt it is set in the same Hyrule from Oot. I'm not saying I don't want it to, but I doubt it.

Wow, that's really close to OoT. Most of the characters wouldn't even be that old! To give you an idea, Malon and Ruto would probably be in their thirties or forties.

Baby Rutos. Fear.

I wonder what happened to the OoT Zelda...We can't have two Zelda's at once...Can we? The Zelda known as the Twilight Princess doesn't appear to be that old.

If she's the same age as Link (and in every game, she pretty much is) it wouldn't be unreasonable to think that OoT Zelda is her mother.

Re: Some info [slightly] confirmed.

I'm having a problem seeing how Link gets into the whole family line, unless he is an orphan. If it is only a few decades later, then we would of course see some old characters, but I think that Ruto and Malon are going to be a bit more than just middle-aged. It's going to be such a long time that most of these characters will belong in homes, and their stories about the Hero of Time will be legend. We'll just have to see what happens.

Re: Some info [slightly] confirmed.

well, if the story of WW is about OoT, then TP cant be a lot of decades after OoT, because WW is set 100 years after OoT. So i think that TP is going to be 30 years after OoT, so a lot of characters are going to be in it.

TWW is not set exactly 100 years after OoT. The King of Hyrule states in the game that hundreds of years have passed since the Great Flood, and that alone is enough proof.

I'm glad it's finally clearly confirmed that TP is between OoT and TWW.

It's cool that Midna will get new abilities as the game goes on, and that's in addition to the new items Link typically gets in dungeons. I'm very excited about the wolf parts of the game.
