This dude at Toysrus said TP will blow OoT out of the water! Your opinions?

I just wanted to see what you all think. I know we wont know until it is released, but being a die hard OoT fan i hope this game can measure up or be even better! Personally i think it wont... but im still very doubtfull!!!

well, we already know it will have way better graphics, but we won't know if the gameplay is better untill it comes out.

edit: oot is my fav too, but i hate the well bit. so many redeads and dead hands! *shudder*

I think it will be a great game, and I'm not even going to waste my time trying to compare it to any other Zelda game before I've played it.

well, in theory TP will definetly blow OOT out of the water.. I mean think about it:

3 times larger overworld (right?)
70 + hours of gameplay
8 or more dungeons
beautiful graphix
awesome story..

it's nintendo's goal to beat OOT in every possible way..

I believe that OOT was so awesome because at the time it came out there was nothing like it.. It was our own little world to play in! and no other game at the time even came close to the "first time 3-D Zelda" experience players had with OOT, so that's why I think OOT became the greatest game in the world.. the 3-D zelda's after OOT didn't have the impact OOT had on players.. the first time you do something is always the best (most of the time) like your first kiss or something..

let me explain it this way... people who played TWW before OOT will likely find OOT ( or atleast that's what I noticed) boring.. but if the other way around people think WW isn't nearly as good OOT was.

what I'm saying is.. If TP is going to be better then OOT, it must have a bigger impact on players..

Youre absolutely right SS-88... That sucks that i wont be able to relive that experience though

Blow OoT out of the water? That'll be tough for me cause I absolutely love OoT... but I trust Nintendo. If they say that they can do it, well, then I believe that they will. I'm already living and breathing for TP, so here's hoping that my faith won't be let down...

No that wasn't me, but I loved the Shadow Temple too. I do believe that Nintendo will be able to top OoT. It'll more more than difficult, but I believe that they can do it... and uh, you love me??? When tWW came out, many people started comparing it to OoT, Nintendo wants a new zelda title to which all it's descendents will be compared to. Sure, we may not have the "First 3D Zelda" experience, but I think nintendo is going in a different direction, it's giving us our dream zelda, not a personal dream, but a community dream, what we all have wanted for so long.

Maybe Nintendo made TWW so crappy just so that Zelda fans could compare TP with TWW instead of with OoT.

Ocarina of Time kicked ass, and still does. Wish I could play it. I'd play it more than a player plays a... video.. game... NYOING!

The Shadow Temple was my favorite because it was cool. If TP is to become the greatest, make more large and detailed and cool map like the Shadow Temple ( and the Spirit Temple too)

here is so much hype for TP, even from rival console gamers lol!
The amount of interest in the game is bound to sell millions of Gamecubes, let alone the game itself!!
I honestly think more Gamecube consoles will sell than, than ever before, as a result of TP, OOT 'set the scene' if you will, and TP will be the'ain event'.

I think it will, but Nintendo just dosen't have the fan base it used to. So it proabaly won't sell as many. Or maybe i'm wrong, I hope i'm wrong. But i'm sure it'll turn out to be my favorite Zelda.

Given the fact that people waited for hours upon end at E3 to play Twilight Princess, I have no doubt it will sell loads.

You never know. Lots of the rival fans (PS2 and Xbox) are really looking foward to this game.

I love Sony and there Playstation and look at Xbox and thing there Xbox is great as well. Then I look at Nintendo...Zelda the only thing that stands out to me really.


Zelda is huge and can sell systems. But how much? Will I buy an GC again? Hell no since I'm gonna get Xbox 360 and then get PS3 then Rev. But hopefully my friend will get it.

This game will surpass OoT, It just seems about the right time for a perfect new Zelda game.

I'm pretty sure OoT will always be my favorite, but who knows? I might think differently after I beat TP. I just hope we'll see Ganondorf or Ganon in this one.

Come now, compared to OoT we all know that TP will make it seem like AoL. (Both the game and the internet server)
