Twilight Princess Difficulty.

How high or low do you think the difficulty in Twilight Princess will be? I don't mind about the puzzles, because I can check gamefaqs.com for that, and I can't stop myself from the temptation, even though I know it will be better if I just try and do the puzzles myself.

But if the enemies and bosses were hard, you can't get an faq for that meaning I won't finish the game too quickly, plus horseback combat looks like it has a lot of potential, it looks so fun and addictive, and the dueling looks very dramatic and medevil fitting. I hope the puzzles are more smooth and clever then mind-numbingly hard. But I still hope for a hard game, harder the Majoras Mask maybe, becasue its better in the outake. But what difficulty do you want it to be? Hard, easy or medicore. I want it to atleast be harder then the Wind Waker, becasue although the temples were extreemely fun and replayable, it just makes the game seem short and unproffesional maybe. It doesn't open up possibilities off amazing clever puzzles, that make you think. Which sometimes I hate, and sometimes I love. But I am getting older now, I'm twelve and I'm starting to easily do dungeons in about half 'n hour, if its hard an hour, when before it would take me more then one day. I would get stuck and have to come back to it the next day. I'd like that in Twilight Princess. I would like a perfect difficulty. Not to hard not too easy.

But what difficulty do you want, and why. I've posted a poll up, but could you please also give reasons for why you want the chosen difficulty. But a game can never have a perfect difficulty or length, because its all opinionated, mostly having changes of opinion due to age or difference in intelligancy.

Re: Twilight Princess Difficulty.

yes, and I hope they will finally have a boss ending everyone will be happy with. They have a long series of games now that have such an easy boss it's just not right.

Three forms, each harder than the next, and they should be so hard that you have to use a fairy every time you're halfway done killing one of them. Only with difficulty do I think you should be able to beat this new game... Let's not have another WW okay?

Re: Twilight Princess Difficulty.

Aonuma has stated that the dundeons will be plentiful, and will put OOT's to shame, so I hope both Dungeons themselve, and the puzzles that must be solved are much Harder!
Also, I hope the bosses are much harder!
I mean, it was sometimes dissapointing to see a beautiful looking Boss like Twinrova, Bongo Bongo and Volvagia, and discover that the same, simple pattern is used to kill them!

I think things are looking up for the Boss department, after all, For the Forest Temple Boss, after defeating the two Triffids, a third one arrises, and the only way to attack it, is to target the monkey who swings by, target his bomb, and then the third triffid, so the gust created by the Gale Bommerang sucks in the bomb, and stirkes the Triffid with it, so it paralyzes, and allows you to strike its tongue/eye

Re: Twilight Princess Difficulty.

I wanna see some really hard puzzles and enemies. I want the game to be like the old zeldas where every heart container you acquired mattered. I want to have the gameover screen memorized by the time I'm done the game. Twilight Princess should be very hard, not with sloppy controls, but with in game purposes.

I, like most of the people that responded, hope it will be hard. I just want it to be long, so that when I finally beat it it will give me great satisfaction.

I hope the puzzles will ertinly be very challenging, but not to challenging to make people loose paitience, and maybe look at a guide - thus ruining the Zelda experience!

Most difficult games I love tend to be very Linear, but I hope this won't be the case for TP - obviously, the makers of the game spent a lot of time on the environment, so I hope the game has the same laid-back, exploration feel that OOT, MM, LTTP, etc, had, and therefore, I would love lots of challenging sidequests too!

Re: Twilight Princess Difficulty.

It would be awesome if you were able to choose the difficulty in the game. That way you could play the game on normal difficulty and then do it on hard. Easy is only for beginners or losers. I don't want the game to be extremely long though, because then I won't want to play it twice. When a game is so long that it gives you great great satisfaction at the end, it usually makes you not want to have to go back to the beginning and spend another twelve to 20 hours trying to beat it again. That is almost the case with Metriod Prime and Metriod Prime 2, but they have not reached the point that I would not want to play them a second time through. I want to be able to play a fun game over and over.

Losers, lol!

That is a great Idea!!
I would love to see more, and tougher enemies in the game, with much harder bosses, just like Metroid Prime!
What I would expect to see in a 'Hard' option for the game, is; When you fight the Triffids in the Forest Temple, instead of the three triffids to battle, there are nine or so - improving the challenge, and making the boss battle much harder!
A real life example of my spoiler is in metroid prime, where the Mantis Boss, called Flahgra, has to have mirrors turned towards it, so it weakens, in the Normal/easy option, there are only three or so mirrors, but in the hard version, there are about fiver to ten (Cannot remember lol) and in the time it takes you to turn all the mirrors, the Flahgra also hit them away, so you had to change them again!
It made the boss battle a lot harder and it took me at least three times the length of time to complete!

Re: Twilight Princess Difficulty.

Well, you can kinda change the difficulty yourself. Just don't collect the heart containers after you kill the boss. I think i'll do that the first time through TP so it'll be harder. But if it's already hard then....uh oh.

Difficulty is the way to go ... without it, there's no sense in playing, plain and simple.

Re: Twilight Princess Difficulty.

Well, looking back on OoT and tWW, I'de have to say neither of those games are truely difficult. tWW only made enemie attacks weaker, so that link could get hit more. But both games made it a breeze in terms of fighting and most puzzles.

I died once or twice in OoT and that was purely optional, I wanted to see the game over screen. Same thing in tWW, only, I died at the hands of the giant pig, which happened to be the hardest enemy in all of tWW... sad isn't it.

Re: Twilight Princess Difficulty.

I want to experience gameovers for a change!!! I didn't get ONE game over in MM or tWW. But a game that is difficult and a game that is challanging are 2 different things. It's easy to make a game difficult, just give the player less health and put in more enemies and give them more health.

To make a game more challanging involves developing a sytem that is hard to learn how to use, and gets harder as you progress.

I wouldn't dream of trying Metroid Prime on hard mode, I've copleted it on an easy mode, and that was one heck of a challenge! The bosses are so frickin' hard! And the amount of suped up exploration, the complete opposite of linor is mad! But good! I want Twilight Princess to be like that. Metroid Prime is my second favourite game, ever - Majoras Mask being the first.

Re: Twilight Princess Difficulty.

Well, fans complaining that about the difficulty level in the WW being too easy didn't go unnoticed by Nintendo. The fans wanted it harder, and that's what we're gonna get. I bloody well hope that it's hard cause I'm craving for a Zelda challenge (just finished the Minish Cap... )

To be honest, that's really not enough choices to pick from. What I would expect is a fair logarithmic learning curve that isn't too steep.

Aonuma, when first asked about TP when it was announced for the very first time, was questioned about the 'Link' of the game, to which he (Aonuma) replied that Link will 'mature' as he progresses through the game, in a new, never-before-seen way.

Nothing has been elaborated upon this officially, regardless of the rumours, but maybe this could be the 'learning curve' that you want !

Re: Twilight Princess Difficulty.

Difficult would be good, though I wish people would stop saying enemies should do more damage. I mean, I'm all for a challenge but the monsters in, say, MM were hard enough. Especially Gyorg. There are better ways to make a game difficult than to put all the enemies on steroids.

What would be good though, is if there were select groups of enemies that posed a real threat. As in, there's a good chance you'll die if you don't have enough hearts. Not everywhere, just, for example, in a certain area of the forest, or on the field. You'd see the enemies far away and know you should probably avoid or not let them see you. Or learn which parts of the forest to stay out of until later.

I very much doubt it, but hey, it'd be nice.

And . . . 'medicore' ?
