Captured?

When Link first enters the Twilight Realm he dosen't have those chains on him, so someone must have captured him right? Well, yeah we know this but who do you suppose it was, and why didn't he defend himself?

I was recently speculating on that, and I think one of the "Twilight" monsters locked him up (porbably one of the minions of the Twilight) because they maybe though he was a threat because he was a wolf, or because he was an "outsider". Well, since Link just turned into a wolf, he probably doesn't know how to control his wolf abilities at that point, thus enabeling him to get captured.

From what I have seen in videos, when Link enters the Twilight, he turns into a Wolf, and then his eyes roll in his sockets before falling to the bottome of the screen, so I guess that after turning into the wolf, Link faints, and wakes up in the jail

Maybe Midna locks him up. Then when Link comes though, he sees himself in a jam. Seeing that he is locked up, and cant get out, Midna takes the oppertunity to free him and makes it look like she is rescuing him. Once she has his trust, she will just use him to get what she want.

Or not, its just a thought.

I hope not, that seems kinda....lame. I hope he tries to fight them off and fails. And yeah he proabaly dosen't know how to use his abilities, or is in shock.

Interesting concept!
It would definatly fit her presumed alignment, though I doubt Midna would have gone to the trouble of Sealing Link, only to help him break out and defeat the guardians later.

I think it will be that way

Unless she wanted to make him believe she was good. He proabaly does. And with her magic it might not be that hard.

Hmm well, Yes he could fiant... But I did see a video which someone taped from e3... The trailer that was only on the e3 showfloor and showed Link turn into a wolf and he got back up..

But what I think happens, Is he fights a Twilight Monster and loses and gets put into chains. Then Midia comes along busts him out and with there combined strength they are strong enough to defeat the Twilight Monsters

I made this thread after watching that "trailer" again. Wolf Link get's back up and howls. But then maybe he plops down right after that.

Link has always defended himself to the best of his abilities...but sometimes his abilities aren't enough. Let's take a look at the other Links in the previous games:

LA: It was Link and his boat vs Mother Nature. The storm was too strong for him, and mother nature won by striking down his boat.

ALttP: Link succeeded by rescueing the princess, however he had to flee because he wasn't powerful enough to face Agahimn without the aid of the Master Sword.

OoT: The first time Link met Ganondorf face to face, he was obviously too weak to stand up to Ganondorf's blast. He did all he could, but at the end it was Link who fell to the ground.

MM: Link could not overcome the Skull Kid's curse when he was turned into a Deku Scrub.

OoS: Link tried to protect the Oracle of Seasons (Din), but without the aid of a sword or sheild, he was pretty much useless against the awesome raw power of General Onox.

OoA: Link tried to protect the Oracle of Ages (Nayru), but even with the aid of Ralph (soo little aid...) he didn't hold any vast knowledge about the currents of time and undo the future Veran has changed from the past.

tWW: After infiltrating the Forsaken Fortress, Link was no match to go up against Ganondorf's pet, the Helmarock King, and far from actually going up against the Prince of Theives himself. He was simply tossed off at sea...

FSA: Link did have a sheild, but that was far from enough to defeat Shadow Link. Knowing the consequences, Link pulled out the Four Sword from it's pedistal and started to charge at Shadow Link. But before he could, a dark wind whirled the four heros up into the air and flung them far away from the sanctuary.

tMC: After the ceremony, Link, Princess Zelda, and the King were able to meet the victor of the competition, Vaati. Even with his trusted sheild and Zelda's Force, they were no match to protect either one from the awesome power that bestowed inside the frail body of the sourceror Vaati.

It just seems like that Link will always defend himself, however there will always be a much greater evil to overcome him in the begining. Through time though, Link will gain more strength and overcome his foes.

So I'm quite sure that a CGI cutscene or something will show and explain to us exactly why and how Link got captured. My guess? Well my guess is this: A portal opens and a few monsters are let loose. Link fights and destroys the monsters. Now an even larger, more powerful monster fights Link (a monster in which Link will undoubtibly loose to no matter what) and Link falls to the ground (he looses possibly because he isn't strong enough, or because he doesn't have the power to subdue the foe without the aid of Midna perhaps). When he wakes up, he is found in chains at a dungeon where he is being kept.

^That seems better than Link just fainting the moment he turns into a wolf, but i would understand how and why he faints if he did. He wouls probably be in a state of total shock and in a lot of pain because of his bones and organs rearranging to the form of a wolf skeleton and when that's all over with, he's worn out, in pain, and might be in shock, so he faints.

Or it could be he wobbles a bit and gets some composure and fights some monsters but, like BGS said, the monsters are just too strong for Link who just turned into a wolf, so they knock him out and throw him in the cage.
