Re: movie clips

Yeah....that definitly doesn't make a good game. All the other Zelda games lacked any 'true cinemas' and they were good games last time I checked. I'm sure they'll put little movie type sequences in the game like they did with Wind Waker. It will still be the same in-game graphic engine.

Re: movie clips

Well I'm going to take this a little deeper and say that I enjoy extras. I hope the game has a sound test for example. A hard mode would be a welcome addition as well. A thetre mode would be pretty decent as well.

Re: movie clips

Theatre mode will not suit a zelda game but it was a good idea.

Re: movie clips

I'm sorry but......that wouldn't be that great. The thing I hate most about some video games are the huge movies...

Re: movie clips

Nah, I wouldn't like a theatre mode.

Say there's this great, dramatic scene in the middle of the game. Since it's so great, I watch it two dozen times in theatre mode. Now I've been overexposed to it and now I no longer can feel the excitement I would feel replaying the game and getting to that scene.

For example, when I only had OoT on the N64 cartrdge, the three files would always be used and I would rarely get to watch the game's opening. Now I have the original cartirdge, the Masterquest disc and the Collector's Edition disc, plus memory cards. With so many save slots I can watch the opening whenever I want, but I no longer get the same excitement I would get from seeing the opening on rare occasions only.

The cinema scenes aren't nearly as interesting when you've been too overexposed to them.

Re: movie clips

No backtracking cutscenes would feel wierd, considering that it'll be a long game and youll have to remember what part of the story has happened already and what's not.

Re: movie clips

I don't think that cut-scenes would ever improve the quality of a game, although, I wouldn't complain if there were some FMV scenes in TP! lol
I feel that the games that heavily relied on FMV scenes, especially on the Sony consoles/games demonstarted how inferior they felt around the competition, and had to use FMV to show 'good' graphics.

Yeah, but if what if you want to watch a cinematic again, but don't want to play to that part just to see it? I know where you are comming from, but I think it is good to give people options. The same thing applies for a "boss fight". Bosses are some of the most enjoyable moments in the game, so I'd like to replay them once in a while.

Of course, none of this discussion matters, because EAD never adds very many extras to their games. I'm just hoping for a sound test.

I would most definitly like the idea of a boss replay mode. I think that would be much better then the theatre mode. Still, both would be nice.
