10 years time?

What do you think Zelda games will be like in 10 years time? Do you think Link will still look the same or do you think they will get rid of his green, fairy bot outfit and make a totaly new outfit? What about Zelda and Ganon? Do you think They will still be around or will there be a new evil and new heroine?

Personaly, I love the games as they are. (Although I do think Link's outfit could be a little bit different. Maybe its 'cause I don't like green?) And what about weapons and items, will they be the same? Will the games be set in Hyrule or will they be set somewhere else? Will the series even be around in 10 years time? What do you all think?

Re: 10 years time?

Link will probably have a drug addiction and he is going to touch zelda impurely. Seriously because of the way games are evolving zelda will probably become gory and sexual if in the wrong hands. Let us hope nintendo does not go down the tubes and sell zelda to another company.

If nintendo can keeps hold of zelda than the series can live on for a several years and prosper. I think that by the end of ten years zelda will have changed greatly and it will have many new fans and posers.

Re: 10 years time?

I think everthing is going to stay the same. Of course, the graphics are going to get even better because the technology is improving quickly, vut that's it. As for the weapons, we probably with see the traditional ones (boomerang, bow, bottles etc.) and new ones, like all the new ones we saw in WW. (grapping hook, telescope, tingle turner) But if the games have been the same for almost 20 years, why change it within the next 10?

I hope it dosn't change at all. I don't think they'll still be making Zelda games in 10 years time anyway, but I'm not psychic.

Dear Nintendo,

Please make sure that Zelda never gets out of hand, or sold to Sony/Microsoft. If it does, Nintendo Will be lost and forgotten. Sony/Microsoft will be The New Rave/Fad, and all Zelda fans' true nightmare will begin. WE LOVE ZELDA!!!

Sincerely,
Stephen.

Re: 10 years time?

Yeah, if Zelda gets into the wrong hands everything would go wrong and before you know it, Link wont be a hero, he'll be a middle aged man with a gun hunting gangsters that killed his parents. Thats what sony does. I actully own a PS2 and although I but games for it as much as I do my gamecube, the're all the same. Not the same as in RPG and RTS but the same as in they all have to have a really good storyline. Not one of them is just about having fun with your mates like Mario Kart and Mario Party.

Re: 10 years time?

The games and serise is great as is. Why change it? If we like it, then generations after us should also enjoy the greatness of the Zelda serise. But really, why change that which is great. You don't change a wining game plan after it has show greatness and worth, do you?

Re: 10 years time?

It is actually really hard to say what the games will be like in 10 or more years. Who knows if Zelda will still be around then? While they are great, the Zelda games have been just steadily building on the gameplay and story that they started in OoT. As far as the handheld ones made buy Capcom, it seems that those don't really change much either, they just get weirder (although, I'll have to remove FS from that list, as it was a new type of thing for the series).
While the games get older, new things need to happen. Now, a great example of totally changing a series, yet keeping it true to the rest of the games would be Resident Evil 4. We should see Zelda's equivelent to that in the next few years, and if we don't, Zelda is going to start going downhill. I know some of you are going to hate me for saying that, but it is true, and if they do change, it could possibly be for the better, even for those who hate change in the series.

Re: 10 years time?

Who knows if Zelda will even be around in 10 years!?
They better be!
I hope they'll be really good so good that all of them are HUGE hits!
The systems they are on though would be different probably. In 10 years maybe the video games will be played on HUGE T.V's and be in 3-D!

Re: 10 years time?

I think Nintendo will make Zelda as long as they remain a company, I love this franchise so much more then Mario games. Besides, Zelda games are usually huge hits, so I think Nintendo can count on the series to sell well for a long time.

Re: 10 years time?

I am willing to bet everything I have that Ganon, Zelda, and Link will still be in the franchise, and relatively the same. More dialogue and more indepth character development, probably. I'm also willing to bet that Link will be talking by that point.

All that even if Nintendo did sell the series, which, as you guys would realize if you had even a grain of sense, is not something we need to worry about. As long as Nintendo exists, Zelda will remain their property. Even if Nintendo stops manufacturing consoles, another thing that is not likely for a few generations at the very least, they'll just go third party and keep the series.

Re: 10 years time?

In 10 years I believe Zelda will still be essentially Zelda. It will probably keep it's traditional story, with a few twist and turns here and there. Actually about only two Zelda would most likely have been released in that short time. I'm sure we'll see voice acting sometime in the future and hopefully it will be grand.

Re: 10 years time?

Holographic games of Zelda. Immensely realistic graphics, awesome gameplay, uh... telepathic controllers? Voice-activated switches... cool stuff to ride on, more mini games, super massive world....

Re: 10 years time?

I say in ten years, link, zelda and gannon will still be in the games or it would be the legend of zelda would it? I think it will grow more, bigger world, more dialouge, voice acting perhaps as times change? Maybe actual romance in the game between link and zelda? something along the lines of FFX. But i think Zelda will remain as long as Nintendo still exist, i think someday it will prolly change when Miyamoto is out of the picture, but change isnt alawys bad as long as it keeps link/zelda in the games.

Re: 10 years time?

Look back 10 years the games still have the same general idea.

They could get rid of zelda(the character) if they tried think of the name.

And as long as nintendo has principles they wont have link doing anything stupid

Re: 10 years time?

Hehe. I don't think it will change TOO much.

If they did change Zelda, they'd have some difficulty because the game is named after her and also her and Ganon are as much central characters as Link. They have been changing Link's outfit slightly ... small alterations ... but nothing to panic about.
