Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (GBA) are both going to be rated 10+.

Re: Tp's rating

Ok....if DK JUNGLE BEAT was rated E+10 I HIGHLY doubt that Zelda will be too. I've played Jungle Beat, and it is violent but not that much at all. Zelda is going to be much more violent then Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, trrrrrrrrrust me. With knowing this game is E+10, the argument should be over. Zelda will be rated 'T' for Teen.

Re: Tp's rating

Teen is 13+ Dr. Cheese. Anyway, yes DK Jungle Beat was E 10+ but you have to see how wide of a range these ratings are, You see games like God of War which are so extremely violent and has a crap load of nudity in it and it only has an M rating, then you see other games in M, like PoP Warior Within which is ver violent but not nearly as much as God of War. It can be seen in T games and E 10+ games and E games. There is a HUGE range.

Re: Tp's rating

3+ (E10) It isn't really that bad. It depends on how much blood and gore and stuff. I know it is quite violent, but OOT was pretty violent too. Remember bashing Volvagia's head in with that hammer?

Re: Tp's rating

I wouldn't think it strange of the ESRB to give TP a Teen rating. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle was T, and I think the only thing bad they had in it was some wierd rapper guy called Rouge "sexy" on the bg music of one of the Knuckles levels.

The reason behind Smash Bros. Teen Rating was the fact that they used guns. If a game has guns in it, it is 99% chance of being Teen. (Just look at Star Fox: Assault....Come on there frigin animals hows that violent!?!)

And I also read in an interview somewhere (I'll see if I can find the link) the a person from the Zelda Development quoted
"I think that there is no question that it will get a T rating. The game is a lot darker, and the fact that as graphics develop and get more realistic, violence tends to become more of a factor. ESRB has a tough rating plan. Ocarina was barely a E rating in their books. For this game we'll probably have to have a long discussion with them and see what they think is best."
I'd like to see the game get E10 rating because it won't entirely cancel out younger children, and I feel that a T rating will be a big step for the series.

Re: Tp's rating

I think it will be "E" or "E 10+". I doubt it will be a "T" rating. There is no chance for it to be "M" or "AO" and if you think it will be, you should die.

I really think that this game is going to be getting a T for teen rating. It definatly will not get a M rating because that would just be non zelda

Re: Tp's rating

It will not be everyone, I would have to say T. No way will it be M, because blood and gore and mature themes are not the Zelda style. But it will be dark enough to get a T rating.

It will be like Ep III, the first one in the series to get PG-13 because of more mature themes, violence, and atmosphere.

Re: Tp's rating

Donkey Kong Jungle Beat got E10+. I think E10+ is going to be most of Nintendos games because gosh it is so violent to jump on a goomba!!! DKJB's rating makes me think TP will be T. But for some reason my gut thinks it will be rated E10+. I wont be suprised if its T but I just cant picture it being that righ know.

Re: Tp's rating

If this game doesn't get T, I'd seriously consider that Nintendo paid them off to widen the audience. Either that, or the ESRB is a moronic, inconsistent system. DKJB, which does not have an ounce of anything that could by considered controversial got a E+10 for god's sake. SSBM T rating has been discussed many times. Then we have games like SFA and MP. These games both somehow manage a T rating, and, from what I've seen, TP looks at least on par with these. The rating system is already stupid and I don't even listen to them. If they give TP anything less than a T, then their credibility will be destroyed.

Re: Tp's rating

SSBM, I can see both sides of that debate. SFA I can understand why that is T, but I have a feeling if E10+ was around when it was made, then it would be E10+. MP I think is automaticly T because its a FPS (not by genra definition by in game view definition)

Re: Tp's rating

Come on now! SSBM is rated T, wouldn't they rate TP at LEAST T for Teen? Maybe the rating would be from E10+ to T but either way, its a video game thats slightly darker than the past games.

Even though the official rating hasn't been decided on yet, ign has the game rated T if you go to their twilight princess section.

Re: Tp's rating

I would be surprised if Twilight Princess got a rating other than E. I'm fully expecting an E rating regardless if the game's mood seems to be darker. A dark mood does not a T rating make. And the little bit of fighting I've seen in the trailers don't seem to indicate, to me at any rate, that it's violent enough to warrent a T rating. But if it does get a T rating, it would be the first in the Zelda franchise. Though I do remember when some folks told Nintendo to either remove/change the blood in Ocarina of Time or change it's rating to something higher than an E... *shrug* So who knows? In either case, I'm well old enough to get any game (if funds are available) regardless of rating. ^_^ So a T, E or M rating I would care not!

As I've said before, I believe the most logical explantion for DK:JB's E+10 rating is the use of bongos, which may frustrate younger gamers. Any way I'm still sure Twilight Princess will be rated E or E+10 keeping with Zelda tradition. Look at Majora's Mask, a pretty dark game but with a E rating.
