What I would like

I hope they get the guy, ooh I forget his name to do TP.

The guy I speak of did the music for these games:

Golden Sun
Golden Sun: The Lost Age
Tales of Symphonia
Star Ocean: Til' the End of Time
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean.

Those games all had awesome soundtracks, but the BK one is the best game soundtrack I have heard. I think if he did TP and topped that game, it would have great music.
Playing something like Among Butterflies and Moonlight would be great for Forest Temple, and Soul Poetry is awesome game over music.

Aaah, that's it, Motoi Sakuraba!

Does anybody agree with me? I am sure if he remixed traditinal zelda tunes, it would be awesome.

Re: What I would like

Sorry. Motoi Sakubara is his name. He is my favorite game composer at the moment. Or I could call him Mr. Guy.

Re: What I would like

Whatever, the name doesn`t matter. A nice remix of the clasics combined with some new instruments, like maybe an oboe to give us some nice forest tunes. Imagene it, your floating along in your boat, fishing, when a nice relaxing oboe solo slides in. Ahhhh, bliss.

Re: What I would like

Bah. Motoi Sakuraba has made a few good soundtracks, but in most cases, he just manages a few good pieces of music while the rest of the soundtrack is just average. I like a lot of his music, but I wouldn't trust him with the Zelda soundtrack - it's not really his style.

For Zelda, Koji Kondo is really the only way to go.

In general... Yasunori Mitsuda is my favorite game music composer. Sung-Woon Jang and Yuka Tsujiyoko are good too. Nobuo Uematsu is great, but he gets more recognition then he deserves. And yes, I love Motoi Sakuraba - he's probably my second favorite. He's just not suited to the Zelda series.

Re: What I would like

My dream collaboration for a Zelda game would be Koji Kondo and Nobuo Uematsu (and he deserves the recognition). Otherwise, keep it Kondo.

Kondo's done the music for every zelda game and hasn't screwed up once. Why change a good thing?

Re: What I would like

I think there should be some more eerie gospel type music, mixed with instruments like flutes and piano. That would suit the Forest Temple. Also some electric gutairs like in Baten Kaitos would suit boss themes.

Re: What I would like

I think a guitar and a fiddle would make some nice traveling music. You know like in Gearudo valley in LoZ. Now that was some music you could dance too.

Re: What I would like

The market tune was something to dance too, or at least, make you feel optimistic, and Zora's Domain was something to relax to. As was Lon Lon Ranch.

He deserves recognition, but he doesn't deserve to be the most recognized, best known, and most acclaimed video game music composer. At all.

Re: What I would like

I do like that Koji Kondo is yet again is doing another Zelda game and has finally started the use of an orchestra for Twilight Princess. It suits the game almost perfectly.

Re: What I would like

I must give credit to Motoi Sakubara, he did a very good job with Baten Kaitos, but Koji Kondo is the master of Zelda music. That doesn't mean that Nintendo can't hire him for their next game. (whatever that might be... )

and by the way, not all of TP is going to be orchestrated, just parts of it. Aonuma said that can't be done until it's fiscally responsible. (save Alttp - he means on this scale.)

Re: What I would like

Koji Kondo is the KING AND MASTER of Zelda music. Why screw up a good thing? Keep it Kondo..but it might be cool to have a *guest* composer on TP, though.

Re: What I would like

If there was some one else to do the zelda music it would be the people who do FF music, but i dont think that music would suit zelda games.

Re: What I would like

orchestrated music? the music in those in-game videos sounded very MIDI, hi-quality MIDI that is (Like in WW). Am I wrong?

Re: What I would like

I don't know much about Motoi Sakuraba, I haven't played any of those games you listed much enough to really pay to the music. Either way I think Koji Kondo should stay, he's one of the very few video game composers who hasn't been blinded by the technical developement and still focuses on the melodies instead of ambient noises.
Most of todays soundtracks sounds like movie-soundtracks. Not a very good developement if you ask me.

Koji Kondo himself stated that he will use orchestrated music in special occations.
The music we heard in all the trailers (except the first one) are most likely orchestrated. I don't see how anyone could compare those tracks with the (in my oppinion) annoyingly synthetic sound from tWW.

Re: What I would like

Hm wasn't talking about the trailers, was talking about the in-game footage at IGN. the ones with the HUD and all the other gameplay elements. The music in those videos sounded MIDI to me.
