Impa

I think Impa will be making an appearance in this game.

My theory is that the 3 Impas we have seen are one woman, and the Shekiah have a lifespan of several thousand years. So we see her as a young woman in OoT, middle aged and fat in the Oracles (I personlly think this takes place after Majora's mask, and she just let herself go, A LOT), and finally as an old, decripid woman in AoL.

I also think she did have an heir, but since her husband was a Hylian (I think Impa is the sole surviver of her entire race) this was not a full shekiah, and inherited the shorter lifespan of a Hylian. The descendant of this heir was the maiden in LttP.

Well, I have to agree. I think she will be in tp, along with alot of other old caracters. But, how she will be involved in the game I don't know. Crazy idea here, but what if she was midna? OK, now feel free to throw your fatal spoons of justice at me and my ideas.

How could Impa be Midna? Midna is an evil creature.

I personally think that Impa will be in this game but she wont play a majoir role. Afterall she never did play a major role.

She could appear! Your'e right! I mean this game supposidly takes place between OoT and WW, so she probably still is alive!
Who knows if we will see her not?
It is possible though.

Hmmm...Who knows? ?She could be there, you may be right, afterall she is Zelda's attendant and this is between OoT and tWW, meh...I dunno, only time will tell i guess^^

I don't think so, TP takes place decades after both OOT and TWW so most likely Impa will not be in TP because she was not in TWW.

Wow......wow.....wow...slow down. I am getting really confused here. Is twilight princess before or after the ww? If it is before then maybe something errrrmm....tradgic happens to impa, if it is after ww then I just made a fool of myself. Sorry *here come the spoons again!*

Are you sure about that, when I was watching e3 they did a special about TP and I could have swore that they said that TP takes place decades after TWW. I guess I could have been mistaken the only thing that I an certain about is how long, decades.

I think she will be in TP because if you see the vide you can see that Zelda i s wairing some kind of cloke whitch has the sign of the Sheikah, maybe Impa gave it to her so she could protect herself from the Twilight!!!!

"Impa is Midna"?? How can Impa be Midna if Midna is Midna. Impa's name is Impa, Midna's name is Midna. I really doubt that Impa is Midna. I think that all Impas have been the same Impa though. She becomes the shadow sage in OoT... passes on her shadow sage role to a descendant somewhere inbetween that and Oracles so that she can continue helping the royal family. It all makes sense, and it all fits in with out timelines. How cool.

It can't be the same Impa in all the games. The Impas are even more different than the Links. FAR more different. How do you explain how she went from a middle-aged Sheikah warrior to a fat (and younger) Hylian woman to a much thinner old hag?

TP IS BEFORE WW AND AFTER OOT! WW was CENTURIES after OoT and TP is only DECADES after OoT.

You know what? It could have been a mistranslation. And, another thing to think about...

NP: Where does the latest Zelda game fall into the series' mythology? Early in the series or after Majora's Mask?

Miyamoto: This is the very first Zelda story. If all we ever did was try to continue the story, we'd lose some of the interest. It's fun to jump back and forth.

This was an interview from July 2002, only a few months before the Japanese release of TWW. See something odd? That's right, Miyamoto himself said that it'd take place before OoT. Did that happen? NO!

Conclusion: Take Aonuma's statement with a grain of salt.

I didn't say all the maids, she just had to have an heir, since the person portrayed as her ancestor is a young girl, and Impa is an old woman in this timeset.

I always thought she was a young woman in OoT. She was a teenager in the wars, and after becoming the sole surviver of the Shekiah, took it upon herself to be Zelda's nanny.

Very plausible theory. And as to the chronology thing, c'mon, this stuff is never final. Wait until the game comes out and then we'll all know.

I don't think they're all the same Impa. In AoL it talks of "the Impa family" as having guarded the king's letter and the sleeping princess. As such, I think that they are all in the same family or descendants of each other, but not the same person. Generations of Impa's family must have guarded the sleeping princess in order for it to say that only members of that family could open the door, and it wouldn't say this if it had been the same person all the time.

Impa is always an advisor. I see her as being a warrior in OoT, and gradually becomes more passive as she gets older.
