In this little chat he revealed that the Zelda game in the works for the DS will not be part of the Four Swords series. Furthermore, Nintendo has eschewed outside help with this title, developing the game entirely in-house with the same team that created the console Zelda games. This is great news!!! I am so glad ZDS is not a Four Swords game because Nintendo already made 2 of thoughs and they are getting old.

If this turns out to be true, it's great news. FS and FSA were both fun, but nowhere near the "real" Zelda games.

I really, really hope it's a 3d zelda game, it would be great to play something like the n64 zelda's with an entirely different new story and world on a DS

Indeed. Four Swords games are to Zelda as Crystal Chronicles is to Final Fantasy. They are both fun with friends, but they won't linger with you for very long.

This is GOOD news, but I still have the feeling it will primarily be a multiplayer game, what with the Wi-Fi and all.

Yeah, I think that a multiplayer Zelda will suit the DS the best, but I wouldnt mind a little 2-d action <or even 3-d>

I'd like a sequel to the oracles, those are my favorite game boy colour games. Din is so kawaii, mabye Link should hook up with her?

It's great to do something different, they just made a game that was good, but it was not amazing or awe inspireing.

I really don't like the FS series. Capcom made their own little alternate universe as far as I'm concerned.

i've only played TMC (if you can consider that a FS game) and don't mind a FS game. but it would be cool if it was a 3d zelda on the DS.

Finally, they stopped the continuum of FS! They were cool, but still, you gotta know when to STOP. This is great news! Although I have grown accustomed to the Four Sword.

I agree. I liked the FS subseries, but to release another one would limit the capabilities of the DS. Plus, it would be awesome to finally see some 3D handheld Zelda.

I really hope it is an original 3D adventure. Not a remake of OoT or MM, an original 3D Zelda. I am tired of remakes.

Hmm... I think a Four Swords type title is perfect for the DS. Wireless out of the box makes for a much more convienient multiplayer than past games. I never got to experience the multiplayer gameplay of past Four Swords because it was so much of a hassle to get enough people with all the necessary equipement together. That and I think a Four Swords Title would be better to expiriment with all the DS's unique capabilities. I'd love to see a 3D Four Swords title with possible downloadable content such as extra levels. So even if the game doesn't technically revolve around the Four Sword I'm kinda hoping it has similar multi-player mechanics, but you certainly won't see me complaining if it's closer to a traditional single player adventure. Those are the ones that tend to be my favorites, I suppose I just think the DS seems almost tailor made for a Zelda Four Swords title and I'd love to see a Zelda multi-player live up to it's full potential.

Hopefully they'll use the DS's capabilities to the max. Have you seen Mario 64 DS? Looks amazing. Id love to see an OOT/MM graphics/gameplay with a new astoryline.
