There are tons of characters from many games that we don't see in the sequels, why worry so much about it? Unique characters to each game keeps those particular games fresh and make them stand out a bit.
And how is
TP going to destroy your childhood memories of
OoT? Doesn't make any sense to me.

Its why when I beat Majora's Mask I felt rather sad, it was kinda The End Of An Era, since the whole Hero of Time storyline stopped.

There were two kind of "sequels" made for
OoT, one was the expansion for the 64DD called "Ura-Zelda" which later became
OoT "Master Quest" and the other one was Majora's Mask. As far as I remember, any other plans for sequels were expansions like Ura-Zelda for the 64DD. So again, I don't know what you're talking about.
Also, the series "change" every 1-2 games and new things/stories are introduced all the time. That is a good thing IMO. What I don't understand is why you keep refering to
OoT as if it was the first Zelda game ever produced and released?
Anyway, almost everything you wanted to know was explained in the introduction to WW. Link never returned.

No. My nostalgic inner child says that I want sequels with fresh plots, characters and places. Carbon-copying places or anything else from previous games is not good at all.
Isn't the fact that the new game is inspired by
OoT enough for some of the
OoT-lovers?
