Just a few thoughts about TP ^_^

Hi, I am new to this site and I am happy to get together with some other Zelda fans.

Okay, I know I am going to love Twilight Princess, but am a bit sad that I won't be seeing any of the charas I loved so much in OoT and the Hyrule that enchanted me as a child is probably going to get destroyed anyway. I wanted to find out if Link found Navi and they returned to save Hyrule, and who Link's soulmate is. Gah, if they had not canned the direct sequel to OoT, for WW, this whole thing never would have happened, but I guess the series has to change, but I really wanted a direct sequel to OoT. Its why when I beat Majora's Mask I felt rather sad, it was kinda The End Of An Era, since the whole Hero of Time storyline stopped.

Anyway, does anybody else feel the same way? This is my nostalgic inner child taking over, so forgive me! Don's worry I'll catch the little brat and give him a harsh noogie of reality.

Yes, then they wanted to do something new and someone threw out an ocean. That idea expanded and became WW.

No, but if you look at the demo that came out before the advent of cel shading, you will see how much that was OoT Link and Ganondorf. Or at least really really looked like them. I was around 12/13 at the time, and I had then natrually assumed that Link was the same character in each game, and this game would be no different.

feline means cat, I bet you're thinking of the word "female"
...and what about yourself, are you aware of what your nickname stands for?

Re: Just a few thoughts about TP ^_^

Witches are male, but there are less of those then female. Modern day male witches are quite common, with the advent of wicca and all, and in the olden days, 1 tenth of all witches were male. So don't worry I know what I mean. I love cats, and I loved hearing stories about witches when I was little. So the name just came natually.

Warlock or wizard depending what side they are on, good or evil. But getting back on topic and all, by the way the whole sequel OOT was just a rumor no hard fact have ever been presented. But I am with ya on the whole sequel to OOT that was my initial hope when I heard that the new zelda game was coming.

I read in the days of old (witch trials and all) Witch Hunters would pass themselves off as witches to infiltrate covens, then arrest them. Warlock is the term for this.

Re: Just a few thoughts about TP ^_^

Well that is really not the point of this thread so try to keep on topic, if you would like to open a thread about witchs, warlocks and such then try in a differant sub forum.

There are tons of characters from many games that we don't see in the sequels, why worry so much about it? Unique characters to each game keeps those particular games fresh and make them stand out a bit.

And how is TP going to destroy your childhood memories of OoT? Doesn't make any sense to me.

There were two kind of "sequels" made for OoT, one was the expansion for the 64DD called "Ura-Zelda" which later became OoT "Master Quest" and the other one was Majora's Mask. As far as I remember, any other plans for sequels were expansions like Ura-Zelda for the 64DD. So again, I don't know what you're talking about.

Also, the series "change" every 1-2 games and new things/stories are introduced all the time. That is a good thing IMO. What I don't understand is why you keep refering to OoT as if it was the first Zelda game ever produced and released?

Anyway, almost everything you wanted to know was explained in the introduction to WW. Link never returned.

No. My nostalgic inner child says that I want sequels with fresh plots, characters and places. Carbon-copying places or anything else from previous games is not good at all.

Isn't the fact that the new game is inspired by OoT enough for some of the OoT-lovers?

Re: Just a few thoughts about TP ^_^

If this really takes place a few decades after Oot, then some characters would possibly be alive, just really old, and may be of less importance to the story (Now I feel bad for old people... aww...)

I like it when the Zelda franchise introduces more fresh and exciting characters that I can feel that warm fuzzy feeling when I look back on them, like Medli or Fado or Zunari from WW. Sure, it would have been great to see Malon, but it wouldn't have the same special feeling if she was in every game.

Some times I need to slap myself and say "D'oh, BLT, you're being a fangirl again!" because I miss characters from LA and OoT too much. Bleh.

Re: Just a few thoughts about TP ^_^

If there are characters from OoT in this game then they'd be in the Twilight Realm and otherwise unrecognizable, that is unless they moved out of Hyrule for some reason. I don't think we'll be seeing many if any reoccurring characters, other than Zelda, but that's basically just tradition. The likliest of OoT characters we'd see would be "Queen" Zelda. Who would, in effect be either the new Zelda's mother or grandmother. And even that is doubtful.

Re: Just a few thoughts about TP ^_^

I thought the Twilight was like... spreading outwards from Hyrule Castle, that's what it looked like in the trailers to me.

It is not exactly what I wanted, but I know I will proably love this game just as much.

I was referring to Hyrule's seal and erosion in WW. Not TP destroying anything.

I refer it to it, I know I do it too much, but it is proably the game that is most special to me. Peroid. It takes a lot for a game to linger, and well I wanted just one game where I see all the charas I like again. It is a bit pathetic, but it is no more pathetic then the grown men and women who blubbed like babies when Aeris died in FF7, and spent years trying to revive her.

I am just very sentimental, and after thinking that OoT was going to be revisited again (after giving up all hope) and finding out it wasn't was a big disapoitment. I was mopey for a bit after finding out about the changes in WW, but I got over it. And I will get over this too. I only found out the day before yesterday that what I was hoping for was not quite happening, so it is a bit fresh. Like I said, I will be over it.
