how mature wil LoZ get as it advances? (discuss)

when i first saw this trailer i was shocked beyond belief because me and my friends discussed it and came to this... note: this is before the trailer

'if link really is the wolf then how does he turn into one?'
' we know he isn't a werewolf so he can't possibly be it' then as the trailer came out we found ourselves scared, was link a werewolf? i investigated by coming here, and luckily this place had the answer, though i knew he wasn't a werewolf by heart, it still scares me a little on how dark will LoZ get in the future, first simple graphs of sword swings, to becoming a wolf when entering a certain realm, whats next? making blood effects? or showing mature themes? or back to basics? will it get darker with each story? or will it become lighter? i set this up for disscussion, on how dark do you think it will get?

nintendo focuses on a wide age range of audience. I highly doubt we'll see any blood or "suggestive" themes purposfully set in the game. This is probably as Dark as the game will get. Just as Wind Waker was the brightest it will probably ever be.

Well it all depends on how Miyamoto wants us to feel while we are playing the game as he said in multiple interviews, play through WW and without those graphics the game wouldn't be what it is. Now the storyline following Twilight Princess will follow the same suit. Its graphics and dark theme will reflect the storyline. Therefore we most likely will see an array of Zelda games ranging from evil ones to bright ones such as we see now.

well, already TP is very mature, just watch the kidnapping scene, a goblin pulls back and arrow and lets it fly, then all the sudden Ilia falls.... they shot Ilia!!

I hope it won't get too dark, half of the game dark, half of it light is a good combination. I always like the light parts in Zelda games a bit better... Just playing games relaxed and filled with happyness

Re: how mature wil LoZ get as it advances? (discuss)

Aonuma said in an interview at E3 that this game will be for all ages. The "darkness" of the game is just because they are showing Link as mature; therefore through Links eyes things are a little darker in this game. As for the whole wolf thing Aonuma said because Link is already an adult they are making him turn into a wolf so he can mature on a different level (maturing is kind of a theme in all Zelda games for him). This game won't have bloodshed or suggestive themes or language: it will probably be a grown up Wind Waker with a little bit darker gameplay (not much) and over all better gameplay. By grownup WW I mean the overall gameplay will slightly resemble that of WW, but better and a little bit more mature as Link is an adult.
