The Imprisoning War/ Great Flood

I think nintendo are being very clevr. There are two main events ion the Zelda timeline. The Imprisoning war and the great flood. We've seen the consequences of them but never actually see the event occuring. I think that we will never get close to a story based around one of these events or during ne of these events. nintendo seems to prefer to steer away from the main story lines. What are your views on this subject?

Re: The Imprisoning War/ Great Flood

It seems like they prefer to leave some things to our own imaginations. It would be rather boring if they made a game out of every event mentioned in the existing games.

I actually like that they steer away from the storylines they create for a specific game, because that keeps the game fresh and new. The more they make sequels that follow the previously released game's storyline, the more limited they are to make new things and events in the same story.

Re: The Imprisoning War/ Great Flood

Exactly so do . I'm saying that They have been clever. What i believe it does is avoid a climax. If they did the imprisoning war game people may believe it to be the crux of zelda games. Where as nintendo want them to be seen as equals

I think we will eventually play/watch (yeah that's right i'm hopeing for a zelda movie) The Imprisoning War but the story of The Great Flood Really has no involvement with link. He's not there when it happens so how can they make a game/film without the central character. also I think that The imprisoning war would make a great video game but it would make an even better movie.

They could work it like link is the leader of the Allied Hyrulian Armies against Ganondorf's armada in an epic battle. It wouldn't be a dungeon crawler like the rest of the games. maybe an RTS. Idea!!!!!!!!!!!! A LoZ RTS taking place during the imprisoning war. and maybe it could show Zelda as a fighter and leader not just a damsel in distress. oooooooo now that a pitch!!

Re: The Imprisoning War/ Great Flood

Of what reason? A little battle sequence in the first trailer that most likely WON'T be in the final version? And how can they fit a war into a Zelda game? To me, the second trailer proved that it WON'T be based on a war.

Are you referring to the cartoons? They were bad (although I kinda liked them) because they were made in the 80's and those who made it were amateurs. With the right people they can make a good movie.

Re: The Imprisoning War/ Great Flood

That sequence in the first trailer which makes people think it's a war only has about 10 enemies which is nothing, as we see Link riding around more enemies then that in 2 different shots in the second trailer.

*EDIT*

mabye not as many but close to it. There is nothing at all that makes the game look like a war is brewing. Wars have thousands of Warriors and Soldiers.

Re: The Imprisoning War/ Great Flood

YEAH!!! Thats what i allway's ahve wanted a zelda MOVIE!!!
that would ROCK!! and the Movie play's role In a Great WAR and
Link Is the Leader of the army!..

But before he Becomes the Leader he was just a normal civilian
but then later in the Movie he get that he is the "Chosen One" and that he
have to go and find the Master Sword, to defeat the Great Evil Ganondorf!!

What im saying is that the game will be exacktly like OoT but in the middle of
a WAR!! And Link get's the Master Sword allredy grown up, he will be around the age of 18-20, and when he get's the Master Sword after Defeating the "campanion" of Ganondorf he set's of to KILL Ganondorf!!

I just made up this story so it isn't really done well, i just typed what come up
in my mind hehe But this "Movie" would ROCK!!!!! I would Love if they made
a Zelda Movie of OoT!!

I don't know why but I have a feeling that the new game will by set in the middle of a major catastraphe!

I think what Water Adept ment was he thinks that Zelda '05 might be based on a battle!
That would make more sence cause wars can last for years!

Re: The Imprisoning War/ Great Flood

Hey, where'd my post go?

Anyways, That was what i meant. There's a lot of evidence to support that, too. I mean, all of the monsters lining up for battle.

Yes i'd never thought about that before. You could have a point there. I couldnt think why else they would be lining up for a huge battle, against one hylian. I kind of think it would be fitting if the hero of time was the link who was involved in the imprisoning war

Yes, I agree. I mean, he looks almost exactly like the Hero of Time, with the earings and all! And I really don't think we'll be there for the great flood.

Re: The Imprisoning War/ Great Flood

The imprisioning war had nothing to do with Link either. It was his father who was involved, so a game or movie would not work for that either.

Edit: And remember Link's father died during the war and his mother rushed him to the Deku Tree before she died. It wasn't too far behind OOT.

Re: The Imprisoning War/ Great Flood

IF this zelda is set after tWW, and IF they drained Hyrule, then maybe we get a little bit of info in the intro.. just like in tWW without much detailed/movies..

But i dont think they will ever tell us the whole events
