Re: button layout for the new Zelda
Do you mean what button does what action? It will probably be the same as it was in WW, to make things easier. And, I wouldn't have it any other way, either.
By the way, welcome to ZU! |

Re: button layout for the new Zelda
lol sry didnt know that
,but about the layout, remember in ocarina of time how the A button was right beside the B button, but in majoras mask it was sort of diagonall to it, so it looked more like the controller, so maybe theyll change it a bit, i dunno

Re: button layout for the new Zelda
I really enjoyed the ww's button layout, and I should hope that they keep it the same, because the buttons were placed very conveniently. According to me. But i too would not like having items assigned to the c stick, brings back memories of starfox dinosaur planet, dangit that item system was hard to use!

Re: button layout for the new Zelda
The same basic layout will return for sure, but I bet there will be some additions or enhancements. I recall either Aonuma or Miyamoto talking about more complex controls for a more mature Link in one of their conferences last E3. One of Nintendo's biggest strengths is that they create simple but effective controls, so I am not worried about them in the least.

Re: button layout for the new Zelda
as far as the actual control scheme goes, its fine the way it is. i cant think of a problem with it, or why they would change it (i do have my own personal dream setup though).
as far as the actual look of the buttons on the screen goes, i hope they choose something that looks a little better. here is what i hope. its a modification of what tWW's button layout was going to look like. ![]() i have had to doa bit of photoshopping, and cant be bothered making it prime, but u get the idea:

Re: button layout for the new Zelda
They're probably using the OoT/TWW button layout. The usual thing, you know; B-button is the attack button, A is the action button, defend with R, target with L.
It's getting kind of old, I think they should improve upon it even more or just do something new. Like with Resident Evil 4, it's a very different game next to the others, a lot more advanced. I must admit I do love that the C-stick allows you to move the camera however you want.

Re: button layout for the new Zelda
I'd much prefer the one in Wind Waker. Their layout was pretty good. And pretty easy to recognise. The controls will most likely be:
A: Multi-Option. Talk, pci up, put away, etc. B: Swing Sword or Sword replacement R: Defend, Grab Y: Asign Item X: Asign Item Z: Asign Item L: Lock On. C: Camera And I wouldn't really want it another way, unless there's some better control system.
