Ocarina in Zelda 05'?

I'm probably looking into this too much, but in the beginning of the E3 trailor it sounds like an ocarina is playing. Not really a good excuse to think there will be an ocarina in the game, but ocarinas (or other musical instrumental aspects) have been a large part of the series. I hope the game includes something that involves music. I mean there have been in recent games, the Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, Wind Ocarina. Personally I think there will be something along these lines involved in the game. What do you think?

Re: Ocarina in Zelda 05'?

That depends. For those of you who have played MQ:Is the ocarina easy to use with the GCN controller?Anyway, they have had a role in every zelda game I can remember(not neccesarily all of them),either it be tiny,or small.I think it will show up.

Re: Ocarina in Zelda 05'?

..I hope with such a grand game Link wont be using the wind baton again..that "intrument" was just plain sad... well I sorta hope link wont have his quest revolve around a musical instrument this time around. the whole "magical super item" idea has been used too much..

Re: Ocarina in Zelda 05'?

As long as they don't have something like the wind waker, I'm fine. And yeah, the ocarina was freaking hard to use with the c-stick, so I ended up using just X, Y, Z, and C-up.

Re: Ocarina in Zelda 05'?

I think that it will return because, like you said, musical instruments have been in every 3d zelda game so far. But I do hope that if they put it in they make it easier to play, because like saint seiya said it was hard to use the ocarina in mq.

Re: Ocarina in Zelda 05'?

I hope that the ocarina will show up, or maybe another instrument. As long as it's flexible and fun to play around with (unlike the wind baton) I'm in.

Believe it or not but there's been one in every Zelda game.
Except the CDI games (?)

Re: Ocarina in Zelda 05'?

There have been musical instruments in many of the zelda games. It's likely that there will be a musical instrument but I'm hoping it doesn't have a major role like the Ocarina of Time or Wind Waker. Just a small role such as teleportation and such.

I would most certainly like to have the ocarina back in this upcoming adventure for GC. And on another note, the wind waker was a baton not a musical intrument. Batons are staffs that musical conductors use to control that of a musically inclined orchestra. Just statin' some known facts!

A lot of people were talking about this. I personally interpreted it as people singing.

There are two different music tracks that play with the Zelda Trailer, depending on where you download the trailer from. (I think that was what you were talking about, sorry if I'm wrong.) One has singing at the beginning and the other has something that sounds like an ocarina.
It doesn't really matter to me whether this game has a musical instrument or not.

Well, actually,I was asking whether it was hard to use or not, because I've never played it .I hope if its here,it'l be easier to use than in MQ.

Re: Ocarina in Zelda 05'?

To Hylian Dan:
He was actually taking about the Wind Waker's Baton, that the Baton wasn't an istrument but when used it sounds like singing. I didn't know there were two versions of the trailor, thanks for the info.

To Saint Seiya:
To answer your question Saint Seiya, It is hard to use the ocarina, the c-stick is very touchy and it's hard to get just the right note sometimes.

I'm talking about the one IGN recorded from E3, not the one nintendo.com backgrounded.

Re: Ocarina in Zelda 05'?

Wow, people find using the C-Stick for the Ocarina difficult. Weird, I found it a lot easier than the c-pad, I guess I'm good at controlling games or something like that.

As for an instrument, yes, most likely will be one. It might be an Ocarina, judging by the fact that they've used that in a good bit of the games made. We'll have to see.

Re: Ocarina in Zelda 05'?

actulley i think it was very easy to play the ocarina with the GC controler if thats what youre asking..

and about the music thing in the trailer that has nothing to do with the game
they just put in a song that will match the trailer, and that song won't even be in the game..

Re: Ocarina in Zelda 05'?

im guesing ocarina. why would they go thru all the truble? besides, if they made a crappy wind baton last time, i dont think theyd risk being, "original" or whatever again. it'll just end up being worse.

oot and mm (duh!) had ocarinas, and i mean, if they used it in 2 games they might use it in three.

oooh! zelda guardian! u just made me think... what if that's the storyline?

... well, maybe no... could be tho... but it WOULD be pretty boring.

hey guys what do u think ull have to do in the new one? collect more sacred stones or triforces? i really hope its not all that jazz again...

Re: Ocarina in Zelda 05'?

Well it is Zelda so there will most likely be a musical instrument of some sort in the game allowing you to play music that aids in your quest somehow. If this Link is the same Link from OoT and MM he will still have the Ocarina of Time and even if not it would be cool to find it somehow, as it would be an ancient relic, perhaps found in one of the dungeons.

Shame really, that songs quite catchy, would be great for the title theme and the full version for the end credits. I mean wind waker and metroid prime 1 both had great songs for their end credits.

Re: Ocarina in Zelda 05'?

obviously music is a big part of all the Zelda games...but for this one personally I'd like it if the intsrument wasn't the main focus(item wise at least) like it was in Oot and WW(granted it had to be seeing how the games are named after them) but I would be better if the intrument was more on the back burner like in MM, just a thought.it would still be incorperated into the game don't get me wrong, but I think I could do without having to play the intrument every 5 seconds like WW.<over-exaggerating of course.
