Maybe it's true....

If Zelda '05 is a sequal to WW, I think I found some evidence to back it up. If you look at the "hero's sword" from WW it looks very similar to the sword in the Zelda '05 trailers/screenshots. I would put up a picture but *is ashamed* I don't know how. lol. So if this is after WW, then the master sword is stuck in Ganon's head at the bottom of the ocean. So now Link has his other sword until he reaquires (if he does) the master sword.

-Albert

EDIT: If one of you guys could put up a couple pictures that'd be neat.

Re: Maybe it's true....

well, i see one small problem with that. the hero's sword in ww is pretty short, so for link to use it as an adult (ot teenager) would be kinda dumb, cuz for him it might be pretty small. But i do however think that the master sword may be used in the game, because when you watch the preview, right when it is ending, and you see the words "The Legend of Zelda" you see the master sword go in behind the shield and the Z in Zelda. and the only time they show the master sword in the title of any game, is when you actually get it in the game (except in ww, it doesn't show the ms in the title screen)

Well, the whole sword scale thing in WW is kinda whacked. I mean Link carries swords that are three times as tall as he is.

not to completely shoot down your theory, and I really don't mean to... but this is probably one of the weakest excuses for a link between WW and Zelda 05 I've ever seen.

Re: Maybe it's true....

Well people seemed to believe that this game was OoT2 just because Link had a horse.. and that is weak evidence IMO.

This is not impossible, it is certainly a possibility that the Zelda2005 Link is in fact the Hero of Winds.. I'd rather have an entirely new Link but don't mind if it turns out this way.

Also, if this is the Hero of Winds.. it would continue the "tradition" of Nintendo having one sequel for every big game like LoZ & AoL, ALttP & LA, OoT & MM.

LA had the master sword from Alttp in the logo - its just a design. I hope they do it like WW, that game was full of nostalgic surprises

I myself see no resemblance between the Hero's Sword in TWW and the sword wielded by Link in the Zelda 05 preview.

Possible spoiler

Link loses his sword in Ganondorf’s head at the end of WW so unless Link has to pull that sword out as part of the story I doubt it will be the same one.

No, I'm talking about the "Hero's Sword" not the Master sword. The Hero's sword would be the only one Link still had after WW and that's the one I'm saying looks similar. Could someone put a couple pics in here please!

WW Link's hilt looks round and '05 Link's isn't.

That too. I don't think it's a direct link ( no pun intended) to TWW, but if it is, he has a different sword.

Re: Maybe it's true....

You cannot say that is either shorter or taller, since Wind Waker and 2005 use different graphical styles. Remember that the Master Sword is not "correctly" sized either.

I don't believe it's the same sword though, but I believe that there's a possibility that 2005 Link is in fact WW Link.

Re: Maybe it's true....

if i read anyone saying that the fact that a sheild, sword or clothing resembles anything from a zelda game, and uses it to backup a theory about the series' chronology again, im gonna scream, and KICK SOME ASS!!

if the developers make something look similar,/ different, they are not doing so for continuity purposes of the series. it is merely, and ONLY, coincidence

Re: Maybe it's true....

lol, that is so true.

Aonuma used the words chronologically on purpose. It doesn't teall us whether it is right after or years later, it just tells us that it is sometime later.

Another thing. Just imagine one of the adults in WW holding the heros sword, it wouldn't work, it is way too short. Also, that sword could last for years, so some other Link could get it hundreds of years later so basing this hypothesis on the sword is very very pointless.

Re: Maybe it's true....

In TWW, the hero's sword is a gladius - in Z'05...it's not. I doubt it's the same WW Link too, it's probably a Link after that.

Re: Maybe it's true....

These Zelda 05 topics should go in fan fiction...

Nintendo already said this is A DIREST SEQUEL TO THE WIND WAKER!! I have no idea what te **** you are talking about the sword. They are way different from WW and 05.

Re: Maybe it's true....

I read on a French website( yes I know French ), this was also displayed on ZU a short while ago, that Zelda's creator confirmed a DS Zelda game and a direct connection in timeline between TWW and Zelda 05' in an interview.

Yeah, a lot of people noticed this early on. But it may or may not mean anything. Let's wait and see...
