Persoanal opinion: OH NO!

k if you read the roundtable posted today on Zeldauniverse, there is this one rumor(yes, i know, another rumor) that was posted by Pipking that reads:


In this alleged interview with the alleged magazine, Aonuma allegedly (okay, I think you get it) says everything he's ever wanted to do with gaming can be accomplished with the Zelda franchise, so he's going to stick around and keep pushing the envelope. He states LoZGC will provide "true introspection about the weight of responsibility, and [a] sense of solitude." Link's cross-country travels will allow players to take a break and camp. Time won't play the same part it has in more recent entries. And Link will be able to transform into animals, such as a wolf and an eagle.

k i REALLY wouldnt want this..i think it would really suck. I JUST WANT A CLASSIC ZELDA GAME WITHOUT ANY STRANGE GAMEPLAY TWISTS LIKE MM...AND JUST A GOOD OLD ZELDA GAME LIKE OCARINA! I mean, OOT and ALTTP were the best zelda games. they were the ones that didnt have like the strange gameplay thingies that included masks, and wind chanign wands, and hats that are alive, and rod of seasons, or harp of ages. I just want something normal..i mean sure i want new and awesome characters, cut scenes, and places but do they always have to go as far to put some annoying element in it????

I know im getting too heated up about this but...(and its probably just an untrue rumor) but rumors come from somewhere. i dont think just anyone would put thoes words in whats his names mouth

One, the rules say you can't double post. Use the Edit Button. Second, and more importantly, I agree. I wouldn't really want that to occur, but more likely than not it's all false stuff anyway.

I think it would be cool to be able to stop and camp while going on your journey, but I dont think that transforming into an eagle would be cool. But I could see link turning into a wolf if that is one of this games main elements. But alas it is probably just a rumor that is not true.
Although I did like oot and alttp better than most of the games, I think it would be cool to have some twists.

If you had actually read the rest of the roundtable, you would have seen my response to that... that rumor turned out to be false.

I think that this "source" of information ended up being fake anyways. Something to do with the translation of the Japanese name was impossible or something. That, and no one could find the original source of the information at all. This info was not posted on ANY gaming websites whatsoever either, which I am sure it would be if it were legit.

EDIT: l-o-s beat me to it. Woo.

The information originated at a Spanish board - At least, that was as far as I could track it. All trails led there, and I could never find any further source. I think some Spanish fans got really bored or something

Having to stop and camp wouldn't be cool. It's too far removed from the feel of Zelda. It just wouldn't work. As far as transforming into an eagle goes... that would be alright, I mean I wouldn't be mad if they put it in, but neither if they took it out. But this has all been proved false so why are we still talking?

This is just mere speculation, no need to get mad. People are always looking for an excuse to make rumors about a new game.

well, as weird as it sounds to us, i am willing to try anything once (at least in video games) but all that i can say is that they better not mess this game up at all or else, i'll go to japan and visit nintendo headquarters, go right up to Miyamoto, turn around, drop my drawrs, and moon him! and say "i've always wanted to moon someone important!"

If you didn't transform into the animals but simply took control of them using a Hyoi pear type item, it wouldn't be that bad - controlling Seagulls was an interesting addition to tWW, but one that wasn't really utilised all that much or really to any interesting effect beyond hitting a couple of switches and picking up a piece of heart.

I think a better idea would be being able to take over enemys and make them destroy each other, like using some kind of wand or something to take over an octorock or something and tunring it on another, or controling an iron knuckle or something...I just got a better idea though, maybe i should make a thread about it.

Well, since the rumors are false we have nothing to worry about. Anyways, this is my opinion on the rumors, even if they are false. I don't want to see another transformation thing again. Please, let us just play as Link. As for camping, I wouldn't mind it if and only if it wasn't mandatory, just optional. Like if you feel you want to relax a bit. I'm pretty sure that having to camp to sleep and atc. to actually complete the game would be downright annoying.

well camping just might be like taking a nap in tMC... its a choice if you want todo it or not... who knows.. it might be fun todo it once or twice... after that it might get boring

Honestly I was unsure about it at first, but once I let my imagination float off into it's endless depths.. I decided it would be really cool. Give it a chance before you put it down.

well if every zelda game was jus like OOT and ALTTP, then it wouldnt be fun to play cause it would jus be the same thing over and over again, it would get very boring,very fast.

it would be cool if when you camped you went to sleep and you could play in your dreams, like some are just happy places filled with hearts and great jumps for your horse or whatever and some could be nightmares with lots of bosses

Dude, at first I didn't take this seriously, but now that I think about it that is a pretty ingenius idea.
